Customers praise the NES Classic Edition's game selection, ease of use, small size, and the inclusion of HDMI for modern TVs. Positive comments also highlight the nostalgic appeal and affordable price. However, a common complaint centers on the short controller cord length. Overall, the system is seen as a fun and easy-to-use retro gaming experience.

The charm of playing an old style NES on a new TV is really great. Game selection is good. Controller works well (although the chord for it is pretty short). Hours of entertainment.

This console was not easy to obtain, but I was fortunate enough to catch it for sale on the website. It is exactly as advertised - mini-NES console with 30 games pre-loaded. There is no mention of expanding the available titles, so there is no reason to complain about that.
There are a lot of great games that are included on the console, many of which I would consider essential when limited to 30 games such as the Super Mario Bros. series, Donkey Kong, Metroid, The Legend of Zelda, Mega Man 2 (the best one in this franchise in my opinion), Punch Out (Mike Tyson's version would have been awesome, but understandable), and others.
My only complaint is the length of the controller cable. It may be reminiscent of the original NES' cable length, but I feel that this could have been longer. There are options to remedy this in the form of a controller with a longer cable, or a wireless controller.
Aside from that, I am completely satisfied with this console.

Superior to the cheap 30-games-in-one systems of the past, the Nintendo branded remake is pretty good. The console is tiny and takes up little space, and powered by a standard USB cable with HDMI output for more modern power and video capabilities.
It comes with only a single controller though and its cable is quite short, at only 3 feet long so extension cables are needed as is a second controller if desiring two player gameplay. The controller is authentically sized and as expected from its sharp, 90 degree angles, not so comfortable to hold compared to later game systems.
I'm generally pleased with the game selection though there's a few game choices that I felt were poor. The inclusion of Pac-Man and Galaga are questionable because these two are certainly better known for their arcade versions than NES variants. (Same could be said for games like Donkey Kong, but I'm willing to let Nintendo have their first party titles.) Double Dragon II and especially Super C should have been replaced with the first, more well-known, and in my opinion, superior, games in their series. And while some will claim Tetris, DuckTales, Blaster Master or Battletoads as the best game missing, perhaps licensing agreements couldn't be worked out with the IP owners. Not so of the original Contra and Bionic Commando, as Konami and Capcom are both represented elsewhere. Those two are the ones I would most liked to have seen that have no excuse to be missing. (On the plus side, they included the best of the Mega Man games.)

This is a great buy. 30 games, most which are classic favorites. The interface is nice, the system is small and portable. One gripe- the controller length. Its about a 2ft cord, and sitting that close to a 55 inch rv is kind of unreasonable. Need to find a wireless solution

I remember the first time I played the NES I was instantly hooked. I enjoyed playing the first Mario figuring out all the ways to beat the game quickly. This NES Classic Edition took me back to my childhood. I found myself playing for hours. It's incredible how much time I spent playing. I enjoyed playing the games in this system more than my PS4, probably has a lot to do with it taking me back to my childhood.
Overall it's everything you want from a NES system. This time around no cartridges are necessary so no magic trickery to making the games work. The only thing I would change in this system would be the controller. I wish it came with 2 controllers instead of one and I wish the conteoller cable was longer. You can buy a second controller but good luck finding them and you can buy an extender to the conteoller cable which I recommend.

Nintendo's NES Mini is pure nostalgia, with a fantastic selection of classic games and an authentic feel with its controller. The only caution I would provide would be the short length of the controller cords - purchasing an extension might be wise.

The system that saved gaming when it first released in the 80's, The NES Classic gives you the form factor of what it was like to own the system 30+ years ago. With 30 built in games the replay value of this system is beyond hundreds of hours and for only $60. You can also plot up to 4 save points for all 30 games at almost any point in the game to save your hard earned progress. The cartridge slot is sealed which means you can only play the games built into the system. The cord for the controller is very short (about 2 feet long) so you will want a controller extension cable or bluetooth adapter that is compatible with other controllers for wireless controller play (sold separability). A wonderful piece of hardware for new to nostalgic fans. The system comes with 1 controller, power and hdmi cables. All ready to feel the power! Get one while you can!

The NES Classic edition has all of the popular games from the 80s and is small and very well built. This is a very high quality product (with the exception of the short controller cable) and would highly recommend to pick one up. Love this!!!!!!

Great gaming system. Very compact so it does n't take up much space. The games look just like they did back in the 80's. Very easy to connect to TV. The only draw back is the cord for the controller is 3' long. We did by a 6' extension for it and it works great.

The NES is easy to use, and has lots of features that add convenience, such as game saves and HDMI cable. It is small and portable, so it’s easy to take with me to play with others. It lacked some games that I used to play as a child, but I fixed that. The controller has a cable that is laughably short, so plan on buying an extension cord, wireless controller, or both.

I was lucky to get this online before it sold out in 10 minutes. The system looked like a kids toy, it's very small. It has a lot of great games but there was a game I was looking forward to play, Contra. Which is not part of the list. Other than that, I like how it has HDMI hook up, many games. Definitely brings back great memories as a kid.
Cons: It comes with only one controller and the cord is short.

The NES Classic is a great system with lots of great old school games, and at about 60 bucks for 30 games that means you're only paying two dollars each. Controller cord is a little short, as everyone says, and I wish I didn't have to push the reset button on the console itself to change games or save, but this doesn't take away from my enjoyment at all. Love reliving childhood memories of the Super Mario Bros series, Zelda, and Punch-Out, and discovering the fun of games I never played as a kid like Balloon Fight and StarTropics. And the variety of games you get is terrific, ranging from simpler games of the early 80s like Pac-Man that actually pre-date the NES itself all the way to the sophistication of things like Kirby''s Adventure from 1993. Overall a fantastic purchase that I highly recommend.

Brings back memories. Loaded with games already. Hours of fun. Controller cord is super short invest in an extension cord. One great feature is you can save your game to play later. Mini is smaller than I expected but it takes up less space which is a plus.

I remember my first video game I've ever played; it was at my grandparents' home, when I played ExciteBike on the NES. Loving the game, I moved on to other games (Super Mario, Donkey Long, Zelda, etc) and other consoles, but that original core experience has stayed with me, and with that a long love of video games. I've collected many original consoles and games, but playing them on an HDTV has gotten to be a bit troublesome. Sure, hooking them up via the RCA cables works well enough, but the experience isn't ideal. I've tried using an analog-to-digital conversion box which helps a bit, but also creates lag, and I haven't the cash to purchase an Analogue NT, despite me wanting one badly. So, when Nintendo decided to release this console with 30 games and in HD (720p, but I'll take it over interlaced 480i), I wanted to get one, but the console was impossible to get in stores and scalpers took to the internet to sell them at over twice the value. So I waited, got the SNES classic last Christmas and loved it. I wanted more, though, and then I saw Nintendo actually listened to the consumer and not only brought this back, but also made enough to cut the scalpers down at the ankles to combat their shady tactics. Boy is it worth the wait! Not only does it look terrific (same grey and black color scheme with the same design) but it's small enough to cart around to a friend's house to play some Castlevania or Super Mario Bros. The controller is the same as I remember with the amazing D-pad and buttons, but the cable is too short. And you only get one in the box. It's a shame, but controllers are easy to find as well as cable extensions to maximize length. The build quality is amazing, and the HDMI cable and the power cables are of high quality. Booting up the console, you get a terrific UI, with plenty of filters to choose from, as well as an aspect ratio choice, along with save states to save your progress on Castlevania amongst other games on here. The games look great in HD and surpass that of the Wii U and 3DS Virtual Console. The games chosen are largely warranted and show the range of classics this system had in it's lifetime. The Super Mario trilogy, Castlevania, ExciteBike, and so much more! In fact, the only game I was surprised to see on here was Balloon Fight, which struck me as odd, but other than that, a great list for veterans and newbies alike! (Note that the titles here differ from the Japanese version). All in all, the amount of titles, plus the great build quality, the excellent emulation and HD rendering and that controller make this an easy recommend. Only drawbacks are the cord length, only one controller and the lack of a way to have more games added to the system from Nintendo itself (The system has been accessed to turn this into quite an emulator for NES games, so do what you will with this info), but other than that, buy it before it leaves for good!

The NES Classic was really hard to get the first time it was released so missed out and was not going to pay hundreds for it. Lets be honest, this is a fun look back at our past but not something we will spend hours and hours on. While this comes stocked with some really great games, it falls sort on not using wireless controllers and only coming with one controller. Plus the unit requires you reset at the unit instead of the controller. There are some aftermarket solutions now that resolve both these concerns.
Issues aside, this was a really fun look back at my childhood and I really appreciated the concept of mimized system given todays smaller and smaller electronics. Playing this system with my 5 year old, he was just as excited as I was as a child to play some of these games. He expecially liked excite bike that I fondly remember playing in pizza hut in the early 80s.
Overall I would recommend this to anyone that came from this generation and grew up on Nintendo. I have the super NES mini as well and find that this one was considerably more enjoyable. That might be because I grew up with Nintendo. I don't know that I'd feel the same about any atari or even the upcoming playstation mini.

Waited outside in line for 2 hours to get this on 11/11 and I can say I'm not disappointed. I'm not much of a gamer these days but to be able to enjoy the nostalgia of my childhood has rebirthed the gamer in me. I haven't been able to snag a second controller yet so I've just enjoyed solo play which is still cool. The controller cord is short so I have to sit close to the tv to play but I don't mind too much since that's how I played as a kid anyway. I may invest in a gaming chair or a cord extender but all in all I'm completely satisfied with my purchase. 30 classic games for $60 is a great deal. I do think Nintendo should have made more to meet demand and hopefully those still looking to buy one will be able to get their hands on one soon without having to overpay from resellers.
