Awesome VR on the Go or even staying in one spot

As an owner of a PSVR and a Dell Visor for windows mixed reality I wasn't sure how this little all in one Oculus Go would stack up to those beefier HMD's.
But after a month of use, I can say the Go is a fantastic little device. What it lacks in power, it makes up for in ease of use and comfort.
As a media device it's perfect for VR videos, netflix and the like. Everything has been running smoothly.
As a gaming device, it's awesome! There are a surprising amount of good games available for the Go.. a month in I've already purchased around 10-12 games.
The graphics are clear and crisp, the loading time for games and apps is short and it's user interface is a breeze to figure out.
My only complaint is the battery life .. about 2 hours or so, but I can live with that for the price.
It's also nice looking. Anything on your face outside of glasses is probably going to look a little strange, but this unit is sleek and in the VR world somewhat stylish.
The Oculus go is perfect for newcomers to VR and is a great compliment to those of us who are already VR enthusiast.

Absolutely love the Oculus Go!

Way before all this social distancing (Twilight Zone) life started happening, friends were highly recommending I buy an Oculus Quest. I was traveling a lot for work so I forgot about it and then of course was too late when I went to buy one realizing they are sold out everywhere. Since I can't get the Quest, friends recommended I buy the Go so I did.
Received it a few days ago via Best Buy curbside pick up. Was extremely easy to setup and after only having it for a few days I absolutely love it!
It's very addicting or at least it is for me especially since I live alone and only have my dogs as my "stay at home" companions. The Go charges fast but the battery only lasts 2 hours. I was bummed about the battery life at first but now glad because it forces me to take a break which I know my eyes need the rest.
Since I haven't tried a Quest I can't compare but friends said there's a night and day difference with gaming. Because of this I originally thought I'd give the Go to my nephew once I can buy a Quest but now I think I'll keep it. Another reviewer made a good point in saying he uses the Go for entertainment (movies, TV, etc) because it's lighter and uses his Quest for games.

I think this is an awesome device. You may find shortcomings with it, but that depends on your expectations. Firstly, I think it is important to note the content available in the Oculus Store (for lack of a better term) is very reasonably priced. Any given day, there is at least one highly rated title that is heavily discounted. Because of this it is very easy to rapidly build up a library of games and 3D "experiences." This is why I went with the 64GB. If there is one complaint I have about this device, it's the lack of expandable storage. The graphics are good considering the internals are the equivalent of a mid-range phone. I've heard people compare the graphics to a Playstation 2. What they don't realize is that we're not just rendering a 720x480 image, we're rendering a 360 degree environment, and the amount of processing it takes to do that (along with all the real time input from the sensors detecting your head and hand movement) is staggering for a mobile device. So yes, graphically, we're not talking about a 4k PC game running on a GTX 1080 ti. All of this is happening while using less than 10 watts of power, so yes, there are limitations. But, for the money, the ability to own a device that is literally VR on the go is more than reasonable to me. It only has 3 DoF instead of 6 DoF, so there's no room scaling. The objective was obviously to make an affordable portable VR headset. Oculus did just that.

The best vr experience I have used yet! It is so clear and sharp and the fit is perfect. The sound is amazingly deep and the quality of the Go is superior to any other unit. It is easy to use and you can take it everywhere. This is THE VR set to get!

If you have not experienced VR yet this is an ideal product to get your first experience. You don't need anything extra to use this product. It does require a cell phone for the initial set-up, but once that is completed the product needs no cell phone or computer. There is no way to describe the VR experience as all descriptions will fall short. If you are considering trying VR my recommendation is to go for it. My only regret is that I waited as long as I did to give it a try!
The only negative I can give is that the battery is oh so short lived. You will get no more than 2 hours of continuous use. (although those 2 hours go by so fast I swear it feels like 30 minutes). I have ordered a power bank based of another reviewer who uses one while using the Oculus Go and gets 16 hours of use. He keeps the power bank plugged in while using the Go.

If you are not a hard core gamer, this vr set works great. I bought it for the experience,
and I realize it is 3 axis, I can't move positions within the vr content.
No more putting my phone in front with heating problems like the old version and the built in speakers are a plus. Field of view is good, and there seems to be much more content now. Remote works well, much better than pushing buttons on the side of the headset. Head straps work well, as well as glasses within the set.
Negatives are battery life, much of the vr content is still very low resolution, and no hard case (had to get one separately). Get the 64 gig version, it fills up quickly. External memory would be much better.

I have not really played around with a VR set as much as this one. Really cool effects. . .love all the freebie videos that came with it. And to top it off you get new freebies periodically! I have not maxed out on the memory yet so cannot comment on that.
I did not give 5 stars because twice the set kept quitting right after booting up without announcing the reason. Once it turned out that the battery in the handset was low; and another time apparently the "avatar" was not selected! Weird. .
Overall, a fun toy to have. . you will be a hit with unsuspecting guests if they have never played with one before!

The Oculus Go is easy, standalone incredible VR

My first VR experience was with my daughter’s Oculus Rift. I was hooked on VR. The rift with it’s controllers that let you grasp things, highly detailed VR. My opinion for the Gamer, Oculus Rift is the best around...but for my wife and I an older couple, we are not going to buy and be tethered to a top of the line computer with a screaming processor and special graphics card and have to have the sensors and accessories set up properly. After hundreds of reviews, I selected the Oculus Go. It is incredible, it is a standalone system that you do not have to put a phone in, don’t have to hook up to a computer. The graphics are good but not as crisp as the Rift but is so much easier to use. I pick it up, put it on my head, power up and a screen shows up asking me to point my controller at the targetand push a button and my controller is zeroed. I am then transported into a VR world. I was astonished and could do nothing at first but turn around and take in the scenery. I experimented with a couple games but found a new found love for 360 degree Videos. I was scrolling through looking at what came loaded with the Go and hit upon a 360 video of a scene in Mama Mia 2. I pushed the button and instantly transported to a the middle of the scene in London meeting the young Harry Headbanger. It was like I was there in the action. You really need to sit in a swivel chair to maximize your views. I felt like I was in the movie, absolutely incredible. I wanted my wife to try, she had been looking at some live cams of the northern lights on her iPad...In the headset, did a simple search for aurora borealis and booted it up, I gave my wife the headset and she put it on. Sitting in a swivel chair she kept slowly turning around, looking up and down and constantly saying “wow”, “Oh, my God” over and over with awe in her voice. I couldn’t get the headset back until she ran down the battery (lasts about 2 hours and takes 2 hours to recharge). If you are a gamer and buy the Oculus Go to play games, you will be disappointed you need to instead buy the Oculus Rift...but if you are like the wife and I and want to enjoy going around the world and experiencing thousands of wonders we may never see, then The Oculus Go is for you. If you want to be on the stage for live events and feel part of the band, buy the Go. If you want to watch Netflix and YouTube on a super personal widescreen, buy the Go. Oh yes, forget to tell you, it has built in audio that is pretty dang good without plugging in earphones. If you want simple to operate, untethered immersive VR experience anywhere, anytime I recommend you buy the Oculus Go. Absolutely incredible VR, I love it.

The 32gb Oculus Go is loads of fun. Not the greatest VR out there but to have lots of games loaded into the unit it is very convenient. While graphics and clarity are a 7 out of 10, I personally have not used a device any better. I wear glasses and with the adapter the fit is perfect. Not too heavy and I have worn for 2 to 3 hours with no fatigue. The greatest drawback which is easily overcome with a long power cord (usb to mini) is the pretty poor length of charge time. Make sure you purchase a gaming controller such as the SteelSeries Stratus XL. Several of the best games require this type of controller.

The Oculus Go was everything that I read on the Oculus website so no surprises. The picture is clear. I was able to fit the lenses in to be able to wear my eye glasses. I am still learning how to control it. I like the fact that it is not tethered to a computer. The two experiences that I downloaded to test it showed me that this was the way to go to enhance students engagement. Since I only intend to use it for educational purposes, some of the things I had hoped to use it for, such as VR dissections, I cannot but I only have to go up one model to solve that problem.

This is the perfect way to start your vr experience. Easy to use, comfortable, fun. The games and apps are reasonably priced, a lot of free apps that are actually really good. I couldn't be more happier with this purchase, strong,y recommend the 64gb version because you will be down loading a lot of awesome apps! The live basketball alone is worth the money, it literally puts you at court side during live NBA games, I hope they will add hockey, baseball and most importantly the NFL! Now stop reading and go by this awesome headset!

This is the Best Portable VR out in the market right now. I love how everything is a standalone contained unit. No need to plug in your cellphone and setup before use. It's pick up and your ready to Go. I price is very affordable and if you like to store videos then I recommend the 64GB version. The only negative is the battery drains fast. Get get about 2 hours of continual use before you have to recharge.

Very good optics. I have a Vive pro also but I actually use this more because it’s easy to use and self contained. I’m getting the Quest as soon as it comes out! The FOV Is wider than the Vive and it also has less “rings” in the lenses. The only things missing are a second controller and the 6DoF. That’s what the Quest will be for! There are neat apps like a nature walk and YouTube VR. There’s a third party app called Riftkat
That will let you stream Steam from your PC.

If you haven’t experienced VR yet, this little thing will blow you away. Everyone that I’ve shown this to has a big smile on their face after the experience. There is a good variety of apps and it should only continue to grow.
The set up was pretty easy and quick. I had even already purchased and queued for download several apps through the Oculus app on my phone before I went down to buy this.
It is the beginner model, so don’t expect super high end games like on the Oculus Rift, however, what is available for this headset had mostly been done very well. There are only a few apps that I ended up deleting. The horror type games 360 3D video experiences are awesome and will make some of you scream with the realism. The built in speakers that are next to your ears within the strap are actually quite good. They work great to create 3D sound so it sounds like there is something next to you on I’m your right, and when you turn your head, the sound is now in the front.
I know the price might seem a little high, but I think you’ll find many uses for it and after finding yourself not wanting to put it down, will think the price point was totally fair.
My wife, who is not that big into tech, went from being mad that I bought it, to showing all her friends. It’s a fun device that the whole family can take turns using and have something for everyone on there.
Go get you one! :)

just awesome, I returned the first one and got another because it would not fully charge, anyway, works with and without wifi, just like the bb rep Clifton told me. He was right, it is awesome, the "VR experiences" are basically short 3D movies, the free games are again- awesome, of course the purchased games have better graphics. This is great way to move around and have fun, a quite way to watch a movie and just awesome in general. It Truly bring the arcade experience home.

I bought the Go during Christmas sales to enjoy some entry level VR as I await the release of Oculus Quest due for release April-May. It is definitely a step up from Gear VR. It is great for media consumption and light gaming. The biggest drawback for me is low battery life. I hope to purchase a battery pack in the near future. Still looking forward to the Quest as it is geared more for gamers, but the Go is fun in the meantime!

The whole family enjoys using this. We play games, watch shows, and everyone has a blast with it. Planning on getting a second one because my 8 year old does not like sharing it. The picture is super clear and it is easy to navigate and operate. I would definitely recommend it. A little pricier than the VR headset that we got a couple of years ago, but the quality is so much better and worth every penny!

It’s been a great escape to throw on this headset and dive into a VR world. The graphics are good and the experience is amazing! I would definitely recommend especially this year, with “quarantine” and all... this really takes you away to another world. It’s been fun, exciting and even relaxing! Just careful with motion sickness, it can happen at first, but it will go away.

This product is wonderful. Totally Next-Gen! My son logged onto a provided website and upload his eyeglasses prescription into the device and it’s like he has his glasses on while using it. I mean, it’s absolutely perfect. You can connect to WiFi and watch your favorite apps on the go. It’s like having the movie theatre in your tote. Got the Oculus GO yesterday on launch day. Watched Netflix looks good, played games awesome. I had the first Gen Gear VR and i think this looks better in VR then that did. Less heat with this compared to having a cell phone strapped to your face. I got the 64GB device and will be keeping it. Love Watching Netflix in bed, need to try youtube VR and twitch app. Happy with my purchase.
