    Got it for my family; young and old. They love it. Saved me 25K for not having to buy a new GM car. The monthly cost is lower than my home alarm and I get far more value. It was an easy decision to protect my family when they are on the road. Plus no excuses that their cell phone battery died!!!

    Good replacement for old analog On-Star

    I bought this for a Christmas gift to replace an OEM On-Star application that would no longer work due to being on the old analog cell network. The unit works just like the original so from a pure On-Star perspective it's great. The only issue that prevents a 5 star rating is there is no compass in the mirror like the original equipment. Almost all mirrors these days come with the build in lighted compass and most people really get used to having that as a quick reference. I think it should be included for the price, and if it was, this would be a perfect unit.

    Great new design FMV mirror

    I previously owned a car with onstar and was upset when I had to trade it in for a car that did not come with it. I was on the internet surfing and saw an add about the onstar FMV mirror that can be installed in your car without it affecting your warranty, boy, was I happy. Then I went to Best Buy site and now I was double happy because the price was even better than learning I could have the onstarr back in my car. Love it would not buy another car without.....the best part is I can go back to bestbuy and have them remove it from this car if I intend to get rid of it, and have re-installed in another car..Way-to-go Best buy your crew are wonderful...

    I am a retired car accessories installer & was able to take care of this job myself. The Onstar FMV mirror adds whole new dimensions of communication & security to a car. It is a great item to have!

    OnStar will help give anyone peace of mind,I work for a GM Dealer In Grants Pass and it's now something I can recommend on our used cars that do not have it. Would not have a Car or Truck without it

    I just got my Onstar installed in my 2012 Scion IQ from a very sweet guy at Bestbuy by Queens Blvd.( I just wish I remembered his name :( ) I made my appt for 12p.m. and they were done by 3 p.m. ..so be prepared to wait. The mall was nearby so that wasn't a problem for me. This is the best device ever. I'm so happy that it was available for my Scion IQ. I feel much safer with it in my car...amd so does my husband. Calling up Onstar and setting it up was a breeze. I'll admit the monthly fee is a little pricey but for my safety and well being , it's definitely worth it. I would recommend it to everyone. If you live near Queens Blvd, get it done at the Best Buy there. You won't be sorry. Debbie

    Great GPS and Security

    I took advantage of the $199 sale for the OnStar FMV (Total cost $210.29 which included the installation). I have to admit that I was very worried about the installation as I "baby" my SUV and was so afraid that something would get messed up or scratched or that the mirror would look like "an add-on". I shouldn't have worried as the installation was perfect and the mirror looks great. (Installed on a 2007 Ford Escape Sport Edition.) Anyway, it works perfectly and I'm really enjoying the Blue Tooth Capability.

    Works in almost any car!

    I replace the factory on-star with this one after GM said it would cost 500 dollars to fix the module on the factory one. This FMV has a great phone and looks identical to the factory. It is limited to not unlocking doors, diagnostics, and shutting off vehicle in case of thief, but will locate care with GPS. I'll be adding one to my Volkswagen Beetle just for the security and safety it brings!

    Good for emergency use.

    Works good. Had for a week and it works great. Blue tooth is nice and clear. Had it installed and they put mic on windshield. had to change location to much noise, especially on rain.

    I am very happy with the purchase. I have Onstar in my Chevy truck and am very happy to have it on my wife's Chrysler Minivan. Only problem I find is that I need to turn the radio down since it is not tied in. Also the visor hits the microphone when I move it down.

    Unable to use this...

    I was told that my automobile was compatable, however, my rear view mirror is not attached to my windshield! I assumed that Best Buy Geek Squad would be able to install the mirror on my windshield, but so far, they have not been instructed on how to do so. Sad to say, I will have to return this product.

    Great value for the price.

    When the price dropped to under $100 installed my wife asked me to get it for her. She did not like the constant inputting by touch of her GPS and fear of it being stolen. The $300 yearly subscription cost may seem high to some people but it is a small price to pay for the safety of voice command and crash response. I also signed up for the unlimited phone calls for $14 per month. They also offer a less expensive plan. If you have used OnStar in another vehicle it really is a great system.

    GREAT PRODUCT IT'S ABOUT TIME ONSTAR IS OFFERED FOR OTHER CARS. I HAVE ONSTAR IN MY GM AND THINKS IT"S GREAT. CHECK BEFORE INSTALL TO SEE IF THE FMV WILL EFFECT OTHER FEATURES ON YOUR CAR, I LOST MY COMPASS DIRECTION ON MY EDGE WITH THE MIRROR CHANGE. ALSO ASK ABOUT INSTALLERS ABILITY TO CHANGE OUT THE BRACKET MY FIRST GUY CRACKED WINDSHIELD AND STILL COULD NOT DO THE JOB,SECOND GUY TOLD ME ABOUT THE CRACK AFTER HE INSTALLED IT. ALOT OF HASSLE TO GET WINDSHIELD REPAIR.

    The onstar fmv allows me to use hands free for phone calls, I get turn by turn driving instructions through it and my daughter will be driving soon, so if there is ever an emergency all she has to do is to hit one button for help. Also the mirror will let emergency personnel know if there is a wreck. This is a good thing with a new driver. I would recommend this product.

    Be careful when they say some aesthetic changes

    I had a 2003 VW New Beetle Convertible GLX. The OnStar FMV I purchased was compatible with some aesthetic changes necessary. Well after two appointments Best Buy said they could not install it in the vehicle without major (read expensive)modifications to the vehicle.

    I'm really pleased how well this works. Also, the techs at Best Buy did a great job of reviewing my installation to see what, if anything, would be disabled before I bought the unit. The installation was very professional. It looks like it came from the factory. It was difficult to connect to OnStar as they were correcting some software issues. It took about a week to fix but I was compensated with three free months of service. I feel that now that OnStar is working properly a new user could be up and running in about 10 to 20 minutes.

    Don't rely too heavily on the crash repsonse. I was in a an accident a couple of weeks ago with enough impact to deploy my air bag and total the car and OnStar did NOT respond. I have had the unit for 5 months. For the the first 3 it would not register due to "blue button issues" as they called it. Finally got that worked out and they gave me 6 months of free service thru October 2012. Every month since then they have charged me anyway and I have had to call them to get the payment refunded . The last time they didn't even refund it, they just tacked on a couple more months of free service. This thing has been nothing but headaches for me. They keep telling me they don't know if is was a defective unit or of the installalation was the problem. I am still trying to decide whther or not to give them benefit of the doubt and have it put in my replacement car. Best Buy said they will do a warranty replacement , but I asked OnStar "Executive Relations) to pay for the reinstall. They decide they won't do that but will consider giving additional free service after we make sure it is working correctly. I still have not decided what I am going to do. Free service that is unreliable is not much compensation for the problems I have had. At this point I would NOT recommend this to anyone, but will update this reveiw if that changes.

    this is a great item, just hate that it was double what they said it would originally go for, but guess you get what you pay for if it gives you piece of mind you can always call if you need help!

    On Star

    It took me awhile to set up an appointment for installation of my OnStar but that has now been done. The OnStar fees were surprisingly less than I expected. I also took the call minutes, opting for 100 minutes a month, but I will probably cancel as I have not used it at all. So far I am very pleased with this product. I mainly bought it for safety reasons as I do a lot of driving by myself. Have not had to use it for this reason yet and hopefully not at all. An excellent product and well worth the price I paid.
