This product reuires ignition switch power and continuous battery power. If access to appropriate power lines in your vehicle is tough it will take a long time to install. It also requires the installer to connect the battery internally. Our installer for got this and we had to take it back in once the OnStar people gave us the error code. It took 2 hours for OnStar to activate as well. Once complete, happy with item. Took and entire Saturday to complete though. Be aware you may need to allocate time here.

Have had many cars with OnStar and could not believe I could get it installed in my daughters Chrysler Convertible! As parents we feel safer with the accident response and integrated phone - a plus is we can call the car and check on her!. My daughter LOVES the turn by turn directions and uses them all the time. Overall, makes having a teen driver a little easier to handle.

Good idea and easy to use but if you've ever had ON Star standard with your GMC or Chevy you may be disappointed. A stand alone speaker/mic is used even though I had hands free and blue tooth in my car. Directions are given verbally through the speaker and not displayed on the dash. Dose not interface with car raido so you will have to turn down the raido when in use.

Puchased my onstar on 11/25/11, spoke with a installer and made sure my truck was compatible(it was), schedule the appointment to install on 11/27/11, 10 minutes later was informed it could not be done because of the air bags. Guess I was informed wrong from the start. Lotta time wasted. Very upset and still do not have onstar. 03 chevy silverado pu does not qualify.

Just wanted to say what a great product the FMV mirror is,I bought it at Best Buy for $99.00 on sale W/free install. Installer at Best Buy Staten Island was awesome and very good at his trade. Sound is very very good (clear) and everyone I call can hear me just fine. I bought the yrs subscription and I'm very happy with it and highly recommend this product.

I purchased the mirror because I have always wanted onstar. Little did I know it would be a pain in the behind to get installed. I called 2 different Best Buys in which I could not make appointments nor could they tell me how long it would take to install. They told me to drop my car off in the am and they would call me when it was ready. Considering, I do not live near by either one (2 hours) this was not something that I could do. Therefore, after many attempts have getting an appointment time, I returned the item.

Installer at elmira NY store was amazing installed it in an hour! Easy to activate had it done in 10 minutes and used it right after. Couldn't be happier with my purchase. The Bluetooth works great and so does the navigation! Would recommend to anyone! total cost 107

The product is great. My experience converning the installation of product was terrible. They told me it would take 1 hour - it took over 4. In the process of installing the On Star FMV the installer broke my windshield.

I purchased it for the long drives where an accident might not be seen from the road. I live alone and it might be a while before anyone realize, there is a problem.

With Onstar's special discount and Best Buy reward points, this was very affordable. Best Buy offered installation which was easy to schedule, efficient and free. I plan on putting Onstar in all my vehicles.

Where has this been all my driving career? This is one of the most useful and beneficial car accessories that I have ever had installed in any of my 57 vehicles that I have owned, in my lifetime. I think it is the best hands free device for its ease of use and clarity of sound. You can't go wrong with this item.

I had On Star in a previous vehicle and really missed it when I traded. This does everything a factory installed system does except monitor the car's systems. It even has more options than my old On Star did. I am completely satisified.

Had OnStar before it went digital and was waiting to get it again. Loved using it. Tried other sources, but you have to take your eyes off of the road to view, not with OnStar. A real live person is talking to you.

Was installed by the Geek Squad as part of the price. Is not a lot of money, and was money well spent. While not being as fully integrated as the full one put into the vehicle when its built, it is very well built and very useful.

I travel alot for my job and up to now, did not have On Star FMV. I got a flat in the middle of no where and needed to make a call. My cell did not have a signal. This won't happen again now that I have On Star.

Nice to be able to add the features that this product offers to a vehicle that didn't come equipped with from the factory for such a low price.

Great buy without having to buy a GMC. Haven't really used it, but it is comforting to just having it.

Installation had a problem that the Best Buy team took care of, and then had me on my way.

I WILL HAVE TO GRADE IT A FAIR AS IT IS NOT A COMPLETE RELIABLE BACKUP FOR AN EMERGENCY. . I WAS IN A RERUAL AREA IN THE COUNTRY AND COULD NOT MAKE CONTACT WITH ONSTAR. I WAS IN AN OPEN AREA WITH NO OBSTRUCTIONS AT ALL AND COULD NOT GET ONSTAT HELP IF I NEEDED IT. THANKS TO THE LORD I DIDN'T. I HAVE ONSTAR IN ANOTHER VHICLE INSTALLED FROM THE FACTORY WHEN IT WAS BUILT IN AT THE FACTORY NOT THE SAME AS FOR AS RECEPTION GOES. I GOT THIS FMV FORM BEST BUY AND THEY INSTALLED IT THERE IN MEMPHIS TN. OTHERWISE IT IS A GOOD PRODUCT FOR TOWN DRIVING NEEDS, THANK YOU..KB
