Emails: We understand the last few months without support have been challenging and probably better stated infuriating for those needing service and support. It’s been months since you have been able to speak to a live person or had issues with Owlcam Camera’s and Mobile app properly supported. If you did not receive the mobile app notification released Tue May 19th, 2020 as of yet, we are sending this out letting you know help has finally arrived! We have outlined some of the most important questions asked since the announcement and wanted to inform all Owlcam Camera owners that we are here for you today and beyond. Let’s get right to it…. IS CALLPASS AFFILIATED WITH OWL CAMERAS, INC.?I The company and legal entity, Owl Cameras Inc are no longer in business. CallPass was not at any time affiliated with Owl Camera Inc nor does it represent Owl Camera Inc currently in any capacity. At this time CallPass does have a license to continue utilizing the Owlcam Camera name, Owlcam Mobile App, and maintain the Owlcam website www.owlcam.com to avoid confusion and make this transition as seamless as possible. Unfortunately, we will not be able to support any purchase plans, credits or other functionality originally sold by Owl Camera Inc, we understand this is frustrating and in some cases confusing, we apologize and hope the new subscription plans offer you as good or better service moving forward.

I've been using this dash cam for a little over a week now and I love it. It alerts me every time someone is near my car and sends a notification to my phone that records what is happening. The iPhone app also works extremely well and connects super fast to my camera and the internet. A lot of other dash cams I've used are also very difficult to place and look bad in the car, but this one is clean and hides wiring well (see photos). The "Okay Presto" features also works very well and the camera has not missed one of my commands. This feature will be extremely helpful if I ever see or get into an accident. I'm also very excited that the camera records front and back with VERY clear quality. My favorite feature is probably the night view that shows who is getting in your car when it is dark outside by shining a light on them and automatically recording. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

Had this camera for a few years now.Was working great until the company was bought by another company. Well,as other users have mentioned,the dashcam is now a paperweight.Unable to direct connect through WiFi to access recordings. The new company wants current owners to purchase their LTE subscription plan. And unfortunately it looks like they totally disabled the camera for owners who do not want to subscribe and just use it as a regular dashcam without the LTE service. What a terrible business practice. Support is non existent and when you contact their toll free number you receive a voicemail message that the company is closed. Do yourself a favor and get a dashcam from a reputable company and stay far far away from Owlcam. My one star rating is one star too many-they deserve a 0 star in my opinion. If they do the right thing and re-enable WiFi access for existing customers who do not want to subscribe to their LTE services then I’ll change my review.

I bought this camera two years ago after a series of break-ins. The $350 camera plus a $99 yearly fee were more than I could afford, but I did what I could. It has had its ups and downs, (more downs than ups lately) but it was still useful enough. Until a new company takes over and disables my $350 camera unless I begin paying them $250 a year? I honestly thought this was a bad joke, but no, this is apparently how they plan to do business. I would rather scrape and save for another camera than pay 2.5x what I’ve been paying yearly for the exact same service. I will be putting this review everywhere I can to hopefully keep others from taking the same gamble I did. (By the way, my truck was towed a few months ago and I didn’t get a single notification, even though I do get two notifications each time a truck or train passes by or I enter my own vehicle.)

This was a nice camera but they went out of business and another company bought them and now there is no customer service offered. Our camera was stolen and can’t get ahold of anyone.

Wonderful product! Easy to use and saves time in the case of an accident. Great features!

I received my owl car cam in February of last year In the beginning it seem to be a decent product, it started having problems with the app. the fan in the camera constantly ran. On the hot days the camera never worked so it was useless. The monthly credits were always restored to 60 six hours before 12 o’clock midnight at the end of every month. I was not able to use the remaining credits. It finally drained the battery of my new vehicle which is little over a year old. I removed it from my vehicle and will no longer use it. If anyone needs a owl car cam I’m selling it. Need to pay for a new battery. Will call for a tow truck tomorrow to get it to the shop to replace the battery.

I don't often give reviews. Terrible on almost every level. The concept is the greatest thing about this camera or the company. The camera/system-is not connected most of the time, making it very difficult to playback video when you need it. The alert notifications are usually 10-30 mins after the actual event. The company in which you have to buy your subscription to use the "features" of the camera-Worst customer service. No callbacks as promised when there are issues with this thing working. I have two, you would think I'd learn my lesson on the first purchase, but first purchase was from the original owl cam company. The new owners need many lessons

All I need to say is that this is the best dashcam I have ever came across. I have researched dashcams for about 4 months before I finally decided to get this one and try it out and I'm so glad I chose the owlcam. There is nothing I can say negative about it. I love it and would highly recommend it to anyone that is wanting one.

They had promised great features and I enjoyed all of them for the past year, but company broke down and product sold to another who is capitalizing rather than keeping the promised features. If you still want to keep paying $20/month after buying it for $400, still don’t buy it. You’d be better off buying the Blackvue Dash Cams — cheaper subscription but better.

The company went defunct, and now another company has bought the company and shut off access. I can't access my camera anymore. You are supposed to be able to access it even with out cellular service via Bluetooth, witch they have more than doubled the price on. I was on tech support for more than an hour trying things and they told me sorry with out cellular service, we can't help you. You buy a product for $350 with cellular service of $99 a year, and now they want $220 a year.

If you do not pay the ridiculous monthly service fees you are out of luck using your device at all. I have not been able to access the videos on my device since I cancelled my monthly plan 3 or so months ago. I have talked to support with no luck. I recorded a hit and run of a biker and cannot access the footage. My camera is essentially useless and will now need to replace it. What a waste.

This device is so awesome!! Someone hit and ran my parked car, and the Owlcam's guard-mode caught their license plate as they fled the scene.. The whole issue got resolved infinitely faster because of it. 10/10 would recommend..

The original company went out of business. They were bought out by CallPass. They have drastically increased the subscription fee and they do NOT warranty the products out. These cameras fail within a year and need to be exchanged. OwlCam is no longer OwlCam. The new company has refused to replace or fix the 3 cameras i have. I have wasted 1200 dollars on 3 cameras that can NOT be used.

The design of the Owlcam is very nice. It installs quickly and looks very sleek. The performance of the Owlcam, however, is another story. Despite having a strong LTE signal, the cam would often not connect. It shut down randomly, apparently due to overheating because the cam was very hot to the touch. This was in 66-degree weather, It was too unreliable for me, so I returned it.

trying to get product support for over 2 months no one respond emails or calls , looks like this company is out of business waste money on about 10 cameras I have purchased in the last year

The WiFi only was disabled on my camera, and after they doubled the cost of the lte service they said they wouldn’t troubleshoot my cam unless I paid for the new service. I’m waiting for a lawsuit.
