Outstanding software program! Prep time approximately 10 minutes and the actual time to move files and apps from old PC to new PC another 10 minutes! Suffice to say in 20 minutes not only did I transfer all of my files, it also transferred all of my apps including settings! No longer did I have to wait hours and hours for transfer. I did purchase a transfer cable to accomplish this as the enclosed ethernet cable would not plug into my laptops.

The instructions are confusing but finally transferred all files to new computer. It was supposed to transfer all licenses but that did not work so not sure it is worth the cost. It was not a familiar application to the Geeks at BestBuy.

This product easily moved all of our applications from an older Windows pc to a brand new pc. I did not have to re-install any programs except for i-tunes and I think that was related to a hardware issue on the new pc. Instructions could be a lot more clear, but tech support was excellent. Saved me hours of work and I'd purchase again.

The product performed as advertiesed, it even made attempts to transfer programs from the original PC to the new PC. It evaluated the software on original PC and calculated the success percentage of a transfer. (Going from XP to WIndows7) It declared which programs it could transfer, and which ones were questionable, and last which ones it absolutely could'nt. What drags the overall score down to three is the inability to use this product on more than one PC. When you have multiple computers in the household, that drops its value from a 4.5 to a mere 3. I would recommend this to someone with a single PC to transfer, not four PC's like in my household.

Life saver! My father got a new laptop and was very set in his ways on how things looked/accessed on his old one. PC Mover was a huge help. Installed it (both PCs), let it run and then like magic, his new PC had almost the same exact look and feel to his older one (minor position edits to his desktop icons). Great product!

It does what is says, it will move files, but be prepared for a LONG wait. My estimated time to move between 1 - 2 TB was approximately 12 - 14 hours. I ended up installing most of my programs manually then copying over my personal game configuration and saved game files using an external ssd and was able to move everything I needed in 8 - 10 hours. I put I would recommend to a friend just because "maybe" was not available. I could say not because it will do what it is advertised to do, but just take a long time even with their fast Ethernet cable.

My advice is to follow the instructions very carefully and to make sure that there is nothing that will interrupt the transfer which takes a long time to complete. Any "notification" (yes you HP and its users) or screen saver or "update" (yes you Microsoft) will crash the transfer and can make you start over. At the least it will stop the transfer and you will lose time until you come back to restart it (it's like watching paint dry or grass grow if you want to sit there and stare at it). However the final result is that everything gets transferred (except the encrypted or locked to your device stuff (yes you Apple and iTunes). The money and time is well worth not having the frustrations of moving all the settings and favorites and everything else. Given the huge number of variables involved LapLink has done an outstanding job on this product.

The program itself was imperfect, insofar as there were stages that did not progress as expected. What made this product superior, however, is the hands-on help by a real IT professional, accesssible through telephone help line and who remotely took over the process. It was successful, but a few disappointments such as porting some printer programs. Additionally, security programs are not ported over. However, I will likely use this product again in the future. Ihad used it before without this difficulty.

It moved all my programs without a problem but I did need to make sure that the Microsoft Office 'trials' were removed from my new PC first. I had to use a tool on MS website to completely remove everything and then my licensed version transferred without a problem. I chatted with PC mover customer service and they gave me the link. They answered the chat in less than a minute. Read the instruction on MS Outlook so you know what the PST file name will be as you will have to rename that one. It identifies the programs that have known issues so its up to you to try. The few I had transferred without a problem.

I've used this before. It moved almost everything over. It didn't move a pdf printer that is installed with my tax software which I'm not sure why, but that was the only thing that didn't get copied over. Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars.

This product successfully moved my data from my old PC to my new one, and it is easy to use.

I came across mixed reviews for this item and was a bit hesitant. That said, the product and the included cable worked very well. My iTunes playlists, my email history, and a few lesser known programs did not move over; however, I was able to do that separately. The instruction guide did not match the screens exactly. I feel that it is pricey, especially since it is single use and Windows Easy Transfer was included with previous versions on Windows. That said, there aren’t many options to transfer programs and this worked well.

I recently had to move to a new computer due to hardware issues with previous computer. My previous computer was partitioned and Laplink PC mover moves everything to Drive C. The partioned files were put into a folder on drive C naming it Drive(Letter of partition-foler name, for example "Drive_E". Works pretty well as most programs recognize that as the link. However not all programs worked which ment reinstalling or changing settings. In some cases had to uninstall before reinstalling. Another problem was required Serial Numbers even though valid on previous computer did not work. Had to get software providers permission after explaining to update. A number of links had to be updated such as documents, excel, etc. were not found since they had moved from original file location. Still all in all was better than trying to make the move manually. I have many programs and files.

I purchased this product after buying a new MSI Gaming Laptop. I had had my 17 inch Dell XPS 3D Laptop since 2011 and was time to upgrade. However, I needed a way to move the contents of my dell Hard Drive over to the new MSI Laptop and I had considered other software but settled on PCMover. It was so easy to migrate to the new MSI. I would highly recommend this software for anyone looking to move data, files, settings, etc from a older computer to a new one.

Used this to bring over files and software programs from an XP computer to Windows 8, couldn't have been easier!!! The mover lets you know which files/programs will go over smoothly, which ones won't and which may present a problem. It allows you choose what you want to do regardless of the recommendation. Although it estimated 17 hours to complete, it was done in 2 hours. My XP computer and 8 computer share a monitor/keyboard/mouse and it was easy to use through the KVM switch. Would recommend to anyone and price was fantastic!! It also has a shredder if you want to kill the hard drive for which you moved.

Took 5 hours to migrate everything to a new laptop, instead of the 15 hours program estimated. Program worked just as it said it would. Was pretty effortless. Had trouble with a couple programs working on Windows 7 (was on Vista) so had to upgrade them, but, oh well. Leave yourself a couple hours of prep work though, downloading upgrades on windows, eliminating files you really don't need (and thus don't need to move), etc.

I bought a new HP pavilion windows 10 at Best Buy to replace my 7 year old Dell Laptop Windows 7 I didn't download or read the guide book, just jumped right in with download & preparation for transfer I had an issue downloading the software update, I called the 24/7 help line, the support person remote accessed into my computer, updated software was downloaded, and ALL contents of old computer was transferred The transfer cable was an Ethernet Cable between the two, transfer took bout 2 hours transferring bout 150 gb On my old lap top I was running Office 2003 with an Office 2007 compatibility patch, Office transferred just fine Software was worth every penny I paid for it!

Worked as advertised. Easy to use. My old system took 2.5 hours to transfer. It was very slow. Now my new system is blazing fast!

Simple to use and moves all your data and programs. Used to transfer from a Win7 laptop to a new Win10 laptop. Note: programs must be compatible with the OS on the new system that you are moving to.
