Am excellent product to transfer files from one computer to another. I have used it to setup my wife's computer in the past. Recommend that you watch a video to guide you with the steps as you are not always sure which files to bring over and which to not bring over. Moves over everything!

I was skeptic of buying this product, but it did very well transferring files and settings between an old HP laptop to a new. This program does seem to be created more towards transfers between two HP's. I only hit a few bumps since I was transferring from Windows 7 to 10.

Laplink's PC Mover has become the easiest way to migration between new computers since Microsoft eliminated the migration function starting with Windows 10. There are a number of options with what and how to migrate files and programs from an old computer to a new one. The basic functionality will migrate both applications and files to the new PC. Most applications will function immediately on the new computer but a few will require entering the license key again. The software that I've run into requiring reactivation are Office365 and antivirus software. The process was simple as it involved logging in once the software was launched. Since it was already installed there was no time wasted downloading and installing from scratch.

Bought product but never opened or used it; when I got a new laptop I quickly noticed (on product box) that this product comes with a Ethernet transfer cable, however, my new laptop does not have an Ethernet connection. I will have to either purchase new software that has USB to USB transfer cable or purchase such a cable separately. Point: Be certain to verify type cable included with your purchase of this software.

This product worked like a champ to transfer all my files and photos from my old Lenovo PC to my new HP ENVY PC. It also transferred most of my programs. I used the customize setting to specify which programs I wanted to transfer. PCmover does an analysis and presents a chart showing which programs are transferable, which are likely transferable and which cannot be transferred, then you can choose which ones you want to transfer. I was able to screen out old programs I no longer used or which were associated with my old Lenovo. One of my"likely" programs did not transfer successfully but over 30 were successful. The downside lies with the instructions: the ones on the printed sheet did not totally match the ones on the disc so I opted to follow the disc and that worked. This also comes with a "free" trial eraser program (that can only be used for a limited time after which you have to buy it) to scrub the hard drive on your old computer . PCmover promotes using it as a routine maintenance tool to remove all traces of unwanted files from your computer. I took advantage of the hard drive erase feature to completely remove everything - operating system, partitions and all files - but it took several days to do this using the 3-pass process. The estimated time for the most secure 7-pass process was 35 weeks for about 2 TB of data!

Great product. Plug and play and it mirrored my PC perfectly. It is the best software for switching pc's.

This did what I wanted it to do, move my old files to my new computer. It set up fairly easy with only a few bumps, mostly my misunderstanding. Once the program started it operated and everything by itself and even let you know when it was finished with the old computer. I would use this again.

The instructions are confusing but finally transferred all files to new computer. It was supposed to transfer all licenses but that did not work so not sure it is worth the cost. It was not a familiar application to the Geeks at BestBuy.

This product easily moved all of our applications from an older Windows pc to a brand new pc. I did not have to re-install any programs except for i-tunes and I think that was related to a hardware issue on the new pc. Instructions could be a lot more clear, but tech support was excellent. Saved me hours of work and I'd purchase again.

It worked the way it should. Only problem, it can only be used once. You have to purchase another license if you want to use it on different computers.

Easy to understand and use. You can migrate without this, but by buying and using it, you'll save big bucks in headaches and uncertainty. Everything gets moved, no hassle. Set it and forget it. Accomplish what you need to in your sleep! This is the way to go!

The product performed as advertiesed, it even made attempts to transfer programs from the original PC to the new PC. It evaluated the software on original PC and calculated the success percentage of a transfer. (Going from XP to WIndows7) It declared which programs it could transfer, and which ones were questionable, and last which ones it absolutely could'nt. What drags the overall score down to three is the inability to use this product on more than one PC. When you have multiple computers in the household, that drops its value from a 4.5 to a mere 3. I would recommend this to someone with a single PC to transfer, not four PC's like in my household.

It does what is says, it will move files, but be prepared for a LONG wait. My estimated time to move between 1 - 2 TB was approximately 12 - 14 hours. I ended up installing most of my programs manually then copying over my personal game configuration and saved game files using an external ssd and was able to move everything I needed in 8 - 10 hours. I put I would recommend to a friend just because "maybe" was not available. I could say not because it will do what it is advertised to do, but just take a long time even with their fast Ethernet cable.

It moved all my programs without a problem but I did need to make sure that the Microsoft Office 'trials' were removed from my new PC first. I had to use a tool on MS website to completely remove everything and then my licensed version transferred without a problem. I chatted with PC mover customer service and they gave me the link. They answered the chat in less than a minute. Read the instruction on MS Outlook so you know what the PST file name will be as you will have to rename that one. It identifies the programs that have known issues so its up to you to try. The few I had transferred without a problem.

Easy to install and use if your are familiar with computers. Does save most programs and all files. Works as expected.

My advice is to follow the instructions very carefully and to make sure that there is nothing that will interrupt the transfer which takes a long time to complete. Any "notification" (yes you HP and its users) or screen saver or "update" (yes you Microsoft) will crash the transfer and can make you start over. At the least it will stop the transfer and you will lose time until you come back to restart it (it's like watching paint dry or grass grow if you want to sit there and stare at it). However the final result is that everything gets transferred (except the encrypted or locked to your device stuff (yes you Apple and iTunes). The money and time is well worth not having the frustrations of moving all the settings and favorites and everything else. Given the huge number of variables involved LapLink has done an outstanding job on this product.

I've used this before. It moved almost everything over. It didn't move a pdf printer that is installed with my tax software which I'm not sure why, but that was the only thing that didn't get copied over. Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars.

I came across mixed reviews for this item and was a bit hesitant. That said, the product and the included cable worked very well. My iTunes playlists, my email history, and a few lesser known programs did not move over; however, I was able to do that separately. The instruction guide did not match the screens exactly. I feel that it is pricey, especially since it is single use and Windows Easy Transfer was included with previous versions on Windows. That said, there aren’t many options to transfer programs and this worked well.

Product was easy to use, although it did take quite a long time to transfer data from one computer to another.

I purchased this product after buying a new MSI Gaming Laptop. I had had my 17 inch Dell XPS 3D Laptop since 2011 and was time to upgrade. However, I needed a way to move the contents of my dell Hard Drive over to the new MSI Laptop and I had considered other software but settled on PCMover. It was so easy to migrate to the new MSI. I would highly recommend this software for anyone looking to move data, files, settings, etc from a older computer to a new one.
