Felt my kitchen was kinda dark, so I mounted the strip under my kitchen cabinets. Got a lot of compliments online about it and it makes a big difference. I have it automated via the hue app to turn on at sunset and it's nice to come home to a nicely lit kitchen. Lots of colors to choose from to set the mood. Mounts by peel and stick.

Purchased after being disappointed with the Amazon Choice for vanity lighting. Not the brightest in the world, but brighter than what Amazon had and we can change colors!

The Best smart lights on the Market

Phillips hue Lighting is one of - if not the best on the market for whole-home lighting. While it is not the biggest in price to performance we might be shocked to find out that it poses a bigger value than originally anticipated.
Let's start with the Home Ecosystem - this works with google home and apple home with EASE! I originally had Homekit as my original Home ecosystem however I switched to google because I prefer the ecosystem better and it has better integration with my Nest Cameras. However, this isn't about google home or Homekit! The lights are easily broken up into rooms to be called on at any moment be it lights on/off, change color, brightness, or if you have them integrated into your routine they can be controlled on a light-by-light basis giving you maximum control.
The Phillips Hue App - This is how all apps should be, you could be convinced that this is a product owned by apple as it is THAT refined. The app gives you full home accessibility with or without a whole smart home ecosystem and it works QUICK. You can automate the lights to go on or off at times or when you come/leave home using a geolocator (the location of your phone vs the activation circle of your home) and to my surprise, it was pretty accurate.
The LED lights/strips themselves are quite bright - enough that they can not be above 25% at night even as a walkway light, so do not fear that they will not fill up a room because they will. the Build quality is great and I have never received one that didn't work (and I have well over 10 bulbs, 7 or 8 strips, enough to know) out of the box. The only caveat I have against the lights is particularly against the LED strips and the 3m tape. It is great for MOST applications however on soft surfaces or the back of some TV's you will need to use another adhesive (I use alien tape or a good double-sided sticky) to make them stick long term. The lights are also all well sized and well cabled so if you don't want anyone to see a light in your kitchen they never will!
Warranty - I did have to warranty one LED strip because it would light up two different colors (and no these lights don't have gradient built into them unless you get the wall LED's that specifically state they have gradient color lighting) when it was supposed to only be white so therefore I had my first RMA. It was effortless and smooth with zero complaints. There was no RMA hero as it was just a quick call and easy process.
Longevity - I have had bulbs going on 4 years of everyday use and they still are just as bright as my newer bulbs and as far as LED strips none of mine have started to fade or have diodes die.
Overall - I couldn't recommend these lights more for a cohesive integration into everyday life. While they might be on the more expensive side of Lights you get what you pay for here and you can do some funky stuff with them - for instance, I use the exterior LED lights inside because it is easy to make cool quick wall art out of them. If you are going to spend the money to convert your whole home over to a light eco system, spend the money and do it right so you never have to do it again. Phillips Hue stands behind their products and so do I

First strip light purchased since the original. This version is wider and brighter! Easy to use. A note and not a negative, but connecting three of these, we hung them around an arched accent in one of our walls (10 ft). Had to use a small zip bracket to hold in place due to the weight. May have stayed if I pressed the adhesive against the wall longer, but it had peeled back twice.

I have mixed feelings about the Hue Lightstrip Plus range of lighting. They do what is stated on the box, and they do look great when installed (properly), but they also have several shortcomings.
Pros: They are bright (1600 lumens) and they light the rooms very well. There are multiple colors to select from, including bright white and soft white, and they also work with Apple's Homekit or other smart home devices. The strips can also be cut down in size which helps when setting them up in smaller spaces.
Cons: The strips can't produce gradient colors like most others strips, so you can only create single colors scenes. If you want transitional or scene effects you will need a third party App. The Hue Lightstrips are also more expensive than several of their counterparts that are found online. Oh, you also need a Hue's Bridge for these to work.
One major annoyance is that there are two different types of Hue Lightstrips (ones a bluetooth version and the other isn't) and they're incompatible with each other. On that end you can't use one strip to extend to another because the connectors are different.
Apps: When I setup my lightstrips I found that I was needing to use two to three Apps to managing the settings of the lights; Hue App to setup the lights, Apple's Homekit App to manage the lights, and a third party app for custom transitions and effects.

This light strip is great for setting ambiance lighting. I used it on the back of my 60 inch tv and it fit all the way around. The Phillips HUE app is very easy to use as well. The lights are very bright and give off many super nice colors.

I love my Hue system and this is an excellent add on to my system. This lightstrip is very bright and feels high quality. I had a cheaper/generic version before and I am so glad I invested a little bit more money for this one from Philips. It integrates with Apple HomeKit and you can control it with Siri or Apple Shortcuts. It was very easy to install and the extension works great. Highly recommend it.

Can't say enough about Philips Hue products. I have now invested in almost every single room having at least one of their lights. This light strip works flawless with the Hue bridge and for the life of me I dont understand why they stopped making them, besides the obvious, MONEY! The Bluetooth strip is way more expensive and if you are anything like myself, once you truly get a chance to see how well Phillips Hue work, this will be the 1st of many to come.
The light strip turns on and off, to any color and percentage of strength by saying, "Hey Google!" Works on any of my numerous Google hubs but does not work, obviously, without a smart hub by voice. It works just as well and honestly better with the Philip app. You can change it to any color you have ever dreamed of having. The product is excellent and I highly recommend waiting for sale price unless they have sold the last lf these all together. No matter, any Phillips hue product works unbelievably well and I highly recommend.

I have about a dozen of the original non-Bluetooth version of the Hue Lightstrip Plus around my house and despite some quirks and the extreme price tag for the length of the strips, I maintain that they are the best at what they do.
First thing first, buy these when they're on sale. MSRP for these is way too high for what you get and they go on sale often enough that I don't think there is any reason to buy at MSRP.
Second, some of these units have a whining control unit when run at 100% bright white. It is definitely annoying and if it bothers you, you should 100% return it. I only have two units that have the whine and both have their controllers located inside of cabinets so I don't really care that much but if it weren't in a cabinet, I would have returned them.
All of that out of the way, these strips are idiot-proof. Plug them in and your Hue hub and Alexa (or other smart apps) will recognize it and be able to control it. The color accuracy is incredibly good, especially in whites which is where most LED strips struggle. Additionally, and this is just as important, they are capable of dimming all the way down to barely even noticeable AND still keep their color accuracy. Cheaper units are very bad at dimming and often lose any accuracy they might have had to begin with.
All in all, other than a few quirks and the stupid MSRP, these are the best smart LED strips for the money. If you don't need smart features, there are endless LED strips that you can get for cheap that I would recommend but for smart strips integrated with smart devices, you cannot do better than Hue.

Much brighter than expected!
I have used many of the cheap, Amazon light strips in the past, and switching from a $30, 32-foot strip to a $110 10ft was a difficult choice.
BUT DID IT PAY OFF.
MUCH brighter than expected (lights up a whole 15'x15' bedroom if facing upwards).
The color spectrum is IMMACULATE.
Only downside is the adhesive. Not strong enough for the weight of the strip.
