I needed an SSD to changed out my old PC’s harddrive as it was well outdated and i didnt have an NVME SSD motherboard so i found this. For the price and quality its un-beatable. Super super ease of installation and even better working straight out thr box woth minimal interaction done by me. I do think i had to open the partition but maybe not. Does NOT come with SATA cable, to be expected. But it would be nice to include 4 of the screws to mount the equipment as out of all my spare screws none work with it so it is currently free floating in my case haha. I do recommend this product its fast, easy to use, and budget friendly!

Upgrading to this SSD was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my setup. The speed difference is night and day—boot times are nearly instant, and programs open in a flash. Whether I’m gaming, editing, or just browsing, everything feels much smoother and more responsive. Installation was straightforward, and the drive was recognized immediately. It’s also completely silent and runs cool, which is a nice bonus. If you’re still using a traditional hard drive, don’t hesitate—this SSD will breathe new life into your system. Highly recommended!

SSD Boot Drive Brought New Life To My Computer!

I use an old desktop computer, a 2013 Lenovo, that I purchased in 2013. It is a Lenovo that came with 8GB of DDR3 memory (2x4GB SIMM cards) and a 500GB SATA drive, which was almost 80% full, an AMD A8 processor, and an external 14TB drive to store my data. I had been running Windows 10 on it for a number of years and the boot up and shut down process had become extremely slow, taking several minutes. On top of that, I kept getting notices to upgrade to Windows 11 because Windows 10 was no longer going to be supported by Microsoft. I didn't want to buy a new computer because I did not want to lose any of the programs I was using or have to re-install any software. I felt that the best course of action was to upgrade to Windows 11 then do a hardware upgrade. Once Windows 11 was installed, my 500GB drive was about 85% full. From online, I ordered 16GB of DDR memory (2x8GB SIMM cards). Once received, I opened up the case and replaced the old SIMMs. Now I had twice the memory in case that was part of the bottle neck. From Best Buy, for about $60, I purchased the PNY - CS900 1 TB Internal SSD SATA drive to replace the 500GB SATA hard drive. The advantage of the SSD is that, being solid state, there are no moving parts, so they read and load wicked fast. I installed the SSD into an empty space in the computer case and plugged the cables in. I next had to go to the Windows Disk Management software to do a quick format and give the SSD a drive letter. The final step was to go online and download some disk cloning software which cost $20. Once the cloning software was installed and started, it automatically figured out which drives to clone from and to. I clicked on PROCEED and, after about 1 hour, it was finished. The program asked if I wanted to make the new SSD drive the boot drive and I confirmed. The computer then shut down, rebooted using the SSD as the boot drive and quickly entered the opening screen for Windows 11. My old computer substantially increased in speed. What used to take several minutes, now took less than 30 seconds. Windows in the Chrome browser snap open like they used to. There is no lag. I accomplished all of this by taking my time and investing about $100 in inexpensive replacement parts and cheap software. The PNY CS900 1TB SATA drive was a major factor in a dramatic improvement in speed and usability of my computer. That, and it's low price, makes it a winner. Two big thumbs up!

I have been working on computers for over 20 years and over 10 years is my own business and I love to use these solid state drives to make my clients computers brand new again these solid state drives are just as dependable as Samsung and in all my years I've installed over a hundred of these and not once had a single one of these come back from my experience from one of my peers they also have an easier warranty process to work with than Samsung who has now started making their website even more difficult to navigate versus crucial where you can still get a hold of a human being who speaks English in America by phone number to process a warranty Also on performance tests while sometimes Samsung or even crucial solstate drives might outperform just PNY those performance levels are very minimal I clone a lot of client hard drives and desktops and laptops by SATA to these salt state drives The only problem is getting these fast enough to keep up with my inventory when I need them and I've noticed that they're getting harder and harder to find at the Best buy stores here in Austin Also I have a direct vendor account with Best buy and I buy lots of salt state drives restock in addition to suppliers especially when I have short notice computer repair search and appointments in cloning drives I tend to reach out to Samsung and not get anything whereas I can get with Best buy going to a shop find a representative have them take me to the case where they need the keys unlock get me to solid state drives I need and get me out within a reasonable time again from a performance standpoint I have had nothing but great experiences with these solid state drives exceeding my client's expectations and what they need and the price point on these is far more affordable than some of their competitors again only challenges finding them when I need them

I needed a new drive as I use a Crucial P5 for my boot drive which only has 512gbs (still an amazing drive and recommend the p5 on sale) and my 2tb barracuda was also full. The PNY drive has an average of 535 MB/s so its nothing to write home about compared to nvme ssd's. But MAN does it do its job so well. I'm able to copy and download files to it with ease. In GTA 5 I am able to load into single player at half the time it takes my hard drive to. Battlefields 4 and 1 load in at around 40 seconds, compared to the 3 MINUTES my hard drive would give me. Siege I moved from my m.2 to it and I still load into matches faster. Call of Duty warzone got rid of annoying texture pop-in/degradation on the SSD and Forza Horizon 5 is able to run textures at ultra settings. So yes, I highly recommend this drive who are looking for a secondary drive for games. I got this very cheap at like $60, and I feel impressed at the performance and reliability at the price I got it.

The 1TB SSD (Solid State Drive) is a highly appealing storage option, especially when it's available at a discounted price. Investing in a 1TB SSD provides a significant amount of storage space for your digital files and can greatly enhance your overall computing experience. One of the main advantages of a 1TB SSD is the ample storage capacity it offers. With 1 terabyte of storage, you'll have plenty of space to store your documents, photos, videos, games, and other digital content. This allows you to keep all your files in one place, making organization and accessibility a breeze. In addition to the large storage capacity, an SSD offers numerous benefits over traditional hard drives. The most notable advantage is the faster read and write speeds, resulting in improved system responsiveness and reduced loading times for applications and files. This means you can access your data and launch programs more quickly, enhancing your productivity and overall computing efficiency. Furthermore, SSDs are more durable compared to traditional hard drives. Since they lack moving parts, they are less susceptible to physical damage caused by shocks or vibrations. This makes them a reliable choice for portable devices such as laptops, where durability is crucial. The installation process for a 1TB SSD is typically straightforward. It can be easily connected to your computer or laptop using standard SATA or M.2 interfaces, depending on the specific SSD model. If you're comfortable with basic computer hardware installation, you should be able to upgrade your storage without much difficulty. When purchasing a 1TB SSD, it's important to consider the brand and model's reputation for reliability and performance. Researching customer reviews and comparing different options can help ensure you're selecting a reliable SSD that meets your needs. In conclusion, taking advantage of a discounted price for a 1TB SSD is a fantastic opportunity. The large storage capacity, faster read and write speeds, and durability make it an excellent investment. By upgrading to an SSD, you can significantly improve your storage capabilities and enhance the overall performance of your computer or laptop.

Excellent for an OS drive, to replace a HDD.

I purchased this for a friend's laptop, that had a mechanical hard drive. He was very pleased. His laptop starts up in 1/3 the time, and shuts down far faster, too. All of his apps start far faster, too. Virtually no waiting. So for a general purpose OS drive, it is excellent. Please note that we did not test any large file copies. Nearly all SSDs slow down to as much as 1/10th their advertised write speed, after continuously writing several GB of data, without rest. It might be after 10 GB, or 25 GB, etc. All SSDs have their own amount of "cache" (faster NAND cells), and when the SSD fills those faster NAND cells, the SSD has to write directly to the slower NAND cells, that usually make up approximately 95% of the drive. So I have no information on how this SSD handles large writing jobs. But for general use, as an OS drive, it is zippy. My friend has been using it for 1 week.
