I have always liked this film. Was a disappointment when released June 1991 that it did NOT do well at the box office. I remember watching Bill Campbell on "Entertainment Tonight" at a movie theater after it only placed #3 at the box office opening weekend. Good adventure film. Holds up today. Fun, good special effects that hold up as well. Original story. NOW, let's go on Disney. This is titled a "20th Anniversary" blu ray package. OK, you would figure there would be some sort of extras on this, even for a film that disappointed at the box office. It was heavily promoted when released, they do not have any "Making of" programs or anything like that? They put extras on DVD’s & blu rays for ’straight to video” Disney releases that do NOT deserve them. But, NOTHING on this film. And, only the 1 disc because of this. CHEAP DISNEY, VERY CHEAP. Good film good picture, bottom of the barrel for Disney DVD/blu ray releases. Terrible, claiming a "20th anniversary" edition. Recommended ONLY for film NOT LACK OF PACKAGE.

Great classic Hollywood action film created for today's movie viewers. It has action, romance, and totally takes you in. Very much like Indiana Jones with a rocket attached to his back. Great bad guy in Timothy Dalton and this movie makes the mafia into the good guys. A very young Jennifer Connelly looking very beautiful and ravishing, Locke for the TV show "Lost" as Howard Hughes, and Alan Arkin as the Rocketeer's sidekick. Great escape movie and unlike lots of movies today, can be enjoyed by the whole family.

rocketeer has become a classic movie i first saw it back when it was release in 1991 and it is pretty good from start to finish they don't make them like this any more and i wish it did better at the box-office bc it was left open for a sequel so if you want a good movie for the whole family to watch then watch the rocketeer

very good in blue ray. Great actors and effects! Just because Disney did not put in special features ,its still a fun and exciting movie!

i wish this release had special features but oh well. at least disney put this on blu ray for us! it looks stunning! def a cult 90's classic!

'The Rocketeer' was considered a box office disappointment, which is really a shame, because it's a darn good movie. Unfortunately, we can obviously see that Disney is still treating the film as a disappointment because little effort, if any, went into this dvd. Instead of the high quality special editions we've received for many other Disney's films, 'the Rocketeer' gets what appears to be a laserdisc-ported-over-to-dvd transfer that is non-anamorphic and of poor quality. The sound is good but that is not enough to save this dvd as there are no extras whatsoever other than a theatrical trailer. This movie deserves much better treatment, regardless of what its box office receipts show.
