Great screen, great battery life, I think this device would be even better if the SO were better optimize to handheld form factor.. but hey, this isn't on ASUS .. But, ASUS should at least include a case... It's $799. C'mon Asus

I've had the original Ally since around Christmas and this is definitely an upgrade. The boost in the ram is noticeable in how much faster load screens are. I also love the color. Oddly the only games I have trouble with are some of the slightly older lego games, for some reason they just keep stuttering and stalling. The changes in the layout really do make it more comfortable to hold and the device itself has a bit more grip to it. I put a 4tb ssd in it (which was ridiculously easy) and I'm set!

I've owned it currently own more than my share of handheld gaming devices. Started with the Switch OLED, then the Steam Deck OLED, the Ally Z1E which I returned due to battery life and other issues. Currently I have the above mentioned Switch OLED, the Lenovo Legion Go, the ROG Ally X, and recently the MSI Claw 8 ai+. I haven't had enough time to properly review the Claw 8 so for right now at least the Ally X is still king. It's exactly what a windows handheld gaming PC should be. The software is by far the best of any device I've owned. The device just works. The ergonomics are great, especially with a Killswitch case. With the Z1E and 24gb of ram it's able to run most anything I throw at it. The only downside I've found is the screen size. Don't get me wrong, the VRR is great and the colors are punchy and bright. 7" just isn't enough for my eyes. Hence the acquisition of the Claw 8 ai. Remains to be m seen which between the two will come out on top. But if you're in the market for a handheld, and given the fact that the claw 8 is virtually impossible to find, you can't go wrong with the Ally X. Especially if you can get it open box ;)

It's everything I was looking for in a computer, and the coolest thing is that I can take it anywhere and its battery lasts a long time.

Upgraded our first rog bought last month and it has been the best purchase. Longer life, more visually appealing, larger memory, and overall an amaxing upgrade.

I love it! The first ROG Ally was my favorite handheld. I did own every one of the most recent handhelds until my apartment caught fire. This device gives me the ability to download more games and show them to run smoother because of the increase in memory. The jump from 16gb to 22gb, plus the increase in memory speed makes this handheld a beast. Now, this isn’t just coming from a fan boy. I’ve been an IT professional for about twenty years. This gives me a small computer I can transport just about anywhere when needed. Also, if you know how to install Steam OS, you can get a similar interface to the SteamDeck.

I’ve had my ROG Ally X for about a year and one month, and I still love it as much. I use it every day. It has more than enough power for most games. I love how portable it is and being able to take it on road trips. I would recommend it to someone who prefers to play on the couch or anywhere compared to having a pc that’s on a desk that isn’t very portable. That’s why I chose this. I would definitely recommend it. It’s awesome!

It's an excellent device. Very simple to use. Windows is not much of a hassle as others would have you believe. Its very capable, the screen is amazing, storage is decent and believe me when I say that having it will make you game more.

Asus did a great job at upgrading to this model from the OG. Battery life is amazing and Hardly feel like I have to charge it between sessions. Really happy that they went with all black for the plastic being that it ages better and shows less wear.

Great gaming device. I’ve been using the ally x for a little less than a year but I wouldn’t have picked any other system. I love the performance and being able to game on the go!

For what it is works great, no complaints, picture and battery are noteworthy. Coolest mini computer ever!

This thing is fantastic. I have owned the steam deck, Legion Go, currently have a GPD Win 4 and I have to say this thing is a mini power house. I was beyond impressed with the battery life and how comfortable it is in the hand. Performance is great and I couldn’t be happier.

Been playing the Ally X for couple weeks now, and i love it. Best Christmas present ive gotten myself. I havnt even touched my consoles since this device does it all. Recommend for anyone that likes to play on the go!

Ive been my favorite AAA games on this bad boy on the go and i hardly miss my PS5, dont be fooled by all these youtubers being by Valve dismissin just because it runs windows, most of them are being paig by Valve. yes there are few things you have to do maximize your experience but its not rocket science. Just turn off the widgets on windows 11. I dont even bother with armory crate because it will take you down some real complicated control mappin stuff. Just start your favorite games from the Steam app and you will be fine. Im currently playing Elden ring, RDR2, witcher 3. They all run buttery smooth, love it.

Very nice for gaming on the go. Has good specs and games run at an average performance. Display is good and the device is not uncomfortable to hold.

I just purchased my Ally X a few weeks ago and I'm obsessed! I was going back and forth between the Ally X and the Steam deck, but ultimately settled on the Ally for its performance, comfortable controls, and the fact that it just looks cool. You can easily access and switch between steam and Xbox games without downloading different apps. I play POE 2, Elden Ring, and play cloud based games with no issues! Plus, it's very simple to tinker with the settings depending on what you value when gaming.

This Ally X is an amazing Portable PC! I traded in my steam deck to get the ROG Ally X, and honestly it’s been such an amazing upgrade. Windows seems to work just fine on the system as I usually plug it into a monitor. The OS helps me run normal apps like a laptop, and games work with anti cheat just fine. I can play most games on normal settings without giving up on quality and performance. AMD’s native software also helps in frame generation at a lower resolution so 900p looks like 1080p! The performance is unmatched for any device of this price point, so I’d definitely recommend it!

Awesome handheld gaming pc. Best over in performance, weight, screen size, visuals, battery life, etc. Easy beats any other handheld out there.
