Ads everywhere and you can't disable them
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Android App is now displaying ads. Unacceptable. I BOUGHT this TV. I turn off Home Screen items, ads really, and they just make new ones that need new opt outs. Do not buy Roku products. This was my final Roku purchase and I regret it.

Great TV but a few quirks
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I'm very pleased with my 55" Roku Plus TV purchase. The brightness is stunning, picture is vivid and the clarity is very good. I wasn't concerned as much with the speakers because I'm using a TCL Alto+ 8212 soundbar. Although the sound is great, some additional Sound Settings would be very helpful. Two that I wish it had is Sound Leveling- some shows/movies are kind of quiet and ads are immensely loud; other is Clear Voice or an equivalent as some preset equalizer setting. The TV seems to be well manufactured and came very well packed. I've noticed a couple of quirks happening after using it for six weeks. One morning after just turning it on, it lost internet connection. When I tried to set it up again, it wouldn't list my Wireless Network. It stated that if the Network is Private, it might not show. I turned the TV off for 10 mins and on again, internet was fine. The other just happened today, Netflix just stopped playing in the middle of a movie. It stated that Netflix needed to be re-started. I've had to restart my TV or streaming device before but never the app itself. I also had some problems after a software update and it wanted me to Pair my remote again. I had to confirm which version by selecting a picture but couldn't get it to pair. My remote had a checkmark and just continued using it. It came up again and I literally had to hold the remote within 2 inches of the sensor before it would pair again.

So far I am very impressed.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.full array local dimming is definitely worth it, it makes the blacks so deep, and the sound on it is incredible which I was not expecting since I'm used to the crappy sound you usually get with a flat screen. Anyways, shout-out Tom's hardware for the solid recommendation for someone on a budget. If you are looking for a mid-range 4k TV that wont break the bank but still has good picture quality and performance, look no further. Glad i spent a bit more and got this over hisense.

Roku gets it done!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Exactly what I was hoping it would be. I am a "late adopter" so, this replaced a 42" Sony Bravia that still worked great. I've grown to really enjoy the Roku interface for all the various streaming apps I use, so did a lot of research on this TV made by Roku. We are using it in a finished basement so it is a fairly dark space with no issues of window glare. Picture is excellent and controls are simple to use to adjust for various types of watching. If you are familiar with the Roku interface, you'll appreciate the simplicity of having it built right in to the TV. I use it with a Sony speaker similar to a soundbar and it synced up to it easily (so I can't comment on the TV speakers alone). I also mounted it to the Insignia leg kit (linked below) so it would sit on my cabinet that is too narrow for the legs that come with it. After several weeks of use, I'm very happy with this purchase. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-universal-tv-feet-replacement-kit-for-tvs-49-77-or-100-lbs-black/6495577.p?skuId=6495577&ref=E30C20R002&loc=BODY&CampaignID=1381177&ref=E30C20R002&loc=BODY&CampaignID=1381177

Love Roku Interface, HDMI Issue Solved
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the Roku interface and menus, far superior to other brands. I like having a single, small, and rechargeable remote. Picture in 4k looks fantastic, appreciate the local dimming. Works well with XBOX. I had difficulty getting my Onkyo connected via HDMI ARC, TV would not detect an input signal. I had to use the third HDMI connection option on the menu. The issue was resolved with a better HDMI cable 4k 60hz that enabled the superior auto connection option.

Great mid-range TV for streaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the 55” Roku Plus Series QLED TV for $500. Overall, this is a great TV for streaming 4K content. The image quality is what I expected for mid-range TVs at this price and I feel confident in my purchase. PROS: Built-in Roku OS. This is the most obvious reason for purchasing the TV, but it is quite important. Roku OS is the best smart TV platform in my opinion as it doesn’t shove ads in my face like FireTV or Chromecast, and Roku won’t just drop support for it after 3-4 years like other built-in smart TV OS (looking at you, Samsung). The user interface is responsive and very simplistic, setup is easy and anyone can find the apps they’re looking for without issue. The voice remote can also find any content you’re looking for with a single button press. As this TV was designed by Roku itself, an American company, I don’t have any privacy concerns that I may have from buying comparable TVs from Chinese companies like Hisense or TCL. The TV gets pretty bright. I have no issues seeing the image clearly in well-lit rooms. This means the TV looks great in HDR with support for Dolby Vision. The QLED panel layer also makes the TV quite colorful and vibrant in Marvel’s sci-fi movies and games like Mario Kart. CONS: Not the best TV for gaming. No 120 Hz or VRR support for newer PS5 or Xbox Series X consoles (to be fair, those features are hard to find at this price point). New consoles do not look bad on this TV, but there may be better alternatives depending on your budget. Nintendo Switch and older consoles still look fine as they do not utilize these features. However, gaming mode MUST be turned on for acceptable input latency, at a slight loss of image quality. There is a very noticeable blooming around bright white-on-black objects such as subtitles. This can be reduced by turning down the full array local dimming setting, but results in an overall loss of contrast as the black colors turn more gray. The stand feels very cheap and unstable. I felt as if I stripped both the screws and my screwdriver trying to attach the two legs of this TV. The TV is fairly stable under its own weight but I would definitely prefer if the legs had less wiggle room. Some settings are VERY hard to find. I’ve read this TV supports motion smoothing and fine-tune color calibration, but I can’t find the settings anywhere. Roku’s website states some settings can only be adjusted in their smartphone app, but I can’t find the settings in the app either because Roku’s own guide asks me to click a ‘more’ button that isn’t there. I would appreciate if Roku could patch a software update that allows me to adjust all advanced TV settings from the TV itself.

Great TV for the Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is easy to navigate, has sharp colors, and great audio quality. We thought our old Samsung TV was fine, but this is a noticeable improvement. Very user friendly!

Amazing pictures and sound!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent display, colors are wonderfully rich, and I was extremely surprised by the sound! In the past I've had to install sound bars on other flat-screen televisions, so I ordered a Roku wireless sound bar when I ordered the television. Upon hearing it, I never opened the sound bar box - returned it to BestBuy. Previously used the external Roku plug-ins. This model, like all that are Roku-embedded, have "cards" on the screen for any external sources. It was so nice to simply click on the Blu-ray card, just like I would if loading Netflix or any other app, and have it work seamlessly. Same with an external antenna using coaxial cable - just click on it and an awesomely detailed menu pops up! No more having to change the media source and trying to remember which HDMI port to select! Easy set-up.... 10 minues max. I would HIGHLY recommend! Ordering two more to replace five year old flat-screens with external Roku units!

Good however mine froze up within the first month.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good in every way, however it has froze up three times already!?! I've owned my 55" Roku Plus for less than two months and the freezing happened when using the 'What to Watch' feature. Great picture and lots of pre-installed apps. The Roku Soundbar and Subwoofer is a great pairing with the TV as well.

Advanced Video Settings for Perfect Picture
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the TV for several weeks now. Initially, the picture quality was too vibrant and the faces red on video content. There is a advance picture setting menu. The way you access it is to play any video content and press the star button on the remote. From there you can access the advanced video settings which will format to all video content. I did contact Roku to resolve this issue and they were clueless. I came across the advanced video settings from somewhat by accident and a youtube video. The sound quality is good, although I am using ear buds to interfaced with Blue Tooth auto settings. Whenever you turn on the ear buds they automatically interface with the TV. Sometimes you have to manually connect the earbuds. So far I am very satisfied with the TV. The Roku environment and remote are very easy to operate. For the price point I would recommend this TV.

Very nice smart TV at a good price.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup is a breeze, user interface is superb, picture is very clear, colors are vivid, black is black, automatic adjustment to ambient lighting is excellent, audio adjustments are very good. I added Roku's smart soundbar, subwoofer, and back speakers for home theatre sound in a smaller (12 x 12) room; very satisfactory. I gave only 3 stars (average) for sound based on the TV's native sound capabilities without additional speakers. Add at least a soundbar and subwoofer if you expect better sound.

Great TV!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We like our tv for the picture, the remote has headset capability, and best of all we can charge the remote with an usb port. The setup was easy. It comes on quickly and was easy to connect with our Roku speakers. We have noticed that the tv has frozen on several occasions and we have to unplug and plug it back in to unfreeze it.
