It's been about seven years since I purchased my last HDTV - one of the last generation Panasonic plasma televisions that I purchased for my home theater. So when my 10-year-old Sharp Aquos LCD HDTV started giving up the ghost I knew I had some reading up to do on current television technology - from backlighting to SmartTV features a lot has changed in the HDTV landscape. I, of course, ended up selecting this Samsung 50" UN50MU6300 (just '6300' from here on) after comparing several brands including models from LG and Sony. For a time I was considering a much more expensive Sony XBR model but ultimately justifying the expense was difficult for a family room television that spends more time tuned to Disney Junior than anything else. Considering just how much prices of HDTVs have fallen in recent years I felt like the sub-thousand dollar range still provided plenty of features and excellent picture quality without a lot of the extras that my family and I wouldn't really notice a whole lot.

Love the smart tv with all of the bells and whistles. Easy to navigate and troubleshoot because of operator error. The stand is a bit flimsy but sturdy enough for a two person household. Wouldn’t rely on the stand with small kids. Perfect color, sound and over all awesome TV.

We were looking for an affordable, larger (but not gigantic) TV as an interim media solution. This system was on sale, and while the salesperson (perhaps accurately) pointed out its 'weaknesses', we decided to buy anyway on the basis of price/feature combo. We could not be happier. The TV is sharp clear and feature rich. Yes, it is not the latest shiny new toy, and yes, we cannot make out all the actors/actresses blemishes like you can on some new systems (if that is your thing,,,,), but this does the job fine and it was a great price. Way to go BestBuy and Samsung.

I did pick this up while it was on sale and upgrading from my 40 in. 1080p dynex. I can say that the leap was a massive one. Picture is crisp and colors are really deep. Sound is good for it being the stock. The remote i found to be easy to use and convenient since it works on other devices like my xbox. If you have a samsung phone, you get to take advantage of other features like screen mirroring for streaming videos from your phone to tv. All in all a great tv. If you haven't upgraded to 4k yet, I recommend this as a start.

I didn't want to spend a fortune to have 4k capabilities and this set does the job! It has a beautiful clean picture on any settings and is pretty easy to make adjustments. My only real complaint is that I'm unable to choose what apps I want on the TV, for some reason I'm not allowed to remove certain apps(basically Samsung won't allow it) and if I want a standard android app from the Google play store(like I can do on my Galaxy s8+) I'm not able to add those. I would give this TV 5 stars if I was more freely able to use the TV as I see fit, not how some company wants me to use it.

Great tv. Went from a 40 inch to a 50 inch and glad we did. Especially like the microphone on the remote to talk to tv functions. Very good sound and color.

After searching many months for the best "bang for my buck", I found this TV on sale and was originally won over by the sale price. However, after viewing it in store, I was further convinced that I was leaving with this TV. It has a beautiful picture and I haven't had any issues with it as of yet! I gave it 4 stars because although it has a beautiful picture, the view from the side is not so great. I liked the LG view from the side but given that the seating in my living room is all looking straight at the TV, ultimately chose this one!

Had to buy this TV suddenly when my son broke ours a few hours before a football game. Was able to walk in store, pick it up, get home and do an easy set up. Follow the promoted screen to go through integration of other devices. Picture is awesome, and I am a fan of the simple remote.

My Samsung 46" LCD screen finally gave up the ghost (after 9 years and 2 moves) so I stayed brand loyal and was not disappointed. This 50" SmartLED was exactly what I needed and the setup and daily use could not be any easier. Maybe not the least expensive option as other brands are cheaper but that word (cheaper) also indicates the quality.

This is a nice television it has a clear picture. I like Samsung products. I, also, like that the foot stand is in the middle and not on the edge of each corner, as you can place it on tabletops easier. There are a couple of things I do not care for - 1. The tiny remote, that is difficult to understand, and very hard to read; 2. I like to change the reds, greens and blues on a TV and this TV only allows for their pre-set choices, i.e., movie, standard, dynamic, etc. So I do not care for the colors as I am unable to add a bit more red and/or adjust brightness and contrast. When in standard mode it's a bit dark and seems to dim a bit during airing. The only one with brightness is dynamic and it leans towards the blues in color and is a bit too bright for my enjoyment. The others are filtered in different ways and are too dark and/or yellowed, etc. I feel like if we are going for 4K HD clarity and beautiful picture, a person should be able to set it to their liking. Everyone enjoys a different color palette as to what they feel is a great picture. It's a bit of a bummer. Still, overall it's a decent TV.

The TV itself seems to do very well; lovely picture, easy enough to operate. I do find that the TV takes over your devices, sometimes in strange ways. Roku is particularly tough; I am working on how to divorce it from the TV menu. Also, be sure to note the remote: at first I thought the volume was broken, but it turns out that the "button" is actually more of a toggle: up for volume up, down for volume down. Not obvious at first, but after a bit it is actually pretty elegant.

Great looking tv! picture quality is amazing. The tv functions are easy to use. The initial setup was easy. The only down fall at first was the remote, it took awhile to get use too but now that's honestly the best feature.
