This is a very nice and very capable machine. Super fast, great sound quality for a laptop. Delightfully fast boot times, and attractive. Aside from a color issue with the screen (which Samsung have an update for), this laptop ran beautifully, straight out of the box. A rare experience with win10 and all the driver issues. BUT.....this laptop has heat issues. Any engaging of the GPU sees the temps run to 90 Celsius on all 4 cores! I thought it was a faulty model, so I changed the machine, but the 2nd one does exactly the same. Calling Samsung to find out if there was some driver issues proved to be a waste of time - polite but ineffective staff. I found it impossible to speak to a technician. High temps will reduce the life of the components, and can damage the machine. The user manual does not make any reference to the running temps either, which is disappointing. A Laptop with an i7 and a dedicated GPU can be expected to run hotter than usual, but 90 Celsius is just too high to take a chance with. I should make it clear, that it only does this when engaging the GPU (graphics card) - otherwise running temps seems to be okay. This seems a little odd, in light of the fact that they have the GPU in there. Ah well. Another return for Best Buy. I really wish this was not an issue, because in some many ways, I like this laptop.

Froze multiple times and shut off multiple times within 5 hours of using. I wound up returning it and getting a MacBook instead. Best decision.

I am a Samsung fan, have 5 other Samsung products and bought this laptop to have a seamless data flow and user experience across devices. I love the design and the performance is great. I would give it 5 stars, if the colors would display correctly. But unfortunately, the blues are being rendered very greenish. That is a pretty big flaw. I opted to keep the machine for now, because I hope that there will be a firmware update very soon to fix this issue. If this is not happening until the end of the extended holiday return option, I will return it before the January 15th deadline. I really very much hope it will be fixed.

One of the best laptop.Pretty sleek. the display issue which i noticed(which displayed Blue color greenish, has been resolved, when I contacted Samsung by installing LCDUpdate. This is PC answer to macbook pro. Beautiful display and poweful PC

Did all I wanted it to do. The screen is beyond belief in color accuracy and it is VIVID Heaven to watch anything you choose. I placed this alongside 3 other of my HD Laptops and the improvement this offers is stunning, even on just simply YouTube video. The sound is also remarkable. The heat, ANY time the laptop uses the graphics card is even MORE stunning however and will burn you top AND bottom as others have mentioned. I have a 17.5" Samsung Gamer Laptop and it has no such heat problems. I wanted this however for it's light weight and media consumption, NOT to do gaming. Sadly, I had my wife return it for me and Best Buy was AMAZING in treating her politely and with respect. I have found myself more & more buying all my electronics from Best Buy instead of Amazon this past year and this is yet another good reason to do so....Now I am considering buying the new smaller Samsung - ATIV Book 9 Spin 13.3" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 8GB Memory - 256GB Solid State Drive. I really do NOT need that 2 GB video card anyway.Just hate dropping from a quad core to a dual core darn it.

i have a macbook pro 15 top of the line laptop mid 2014 , i love windows though and i have purchased several windows laptop then returned all of them including this laptop . please if you have a macbook pro , don't switch , if you don't have macbook pro and you want to decide between the two , then buy the mac if you don't have to have a windows laptop, sounds i am advertising ? well let us talk some practical evidence 1- the battery life is no where a match to macbook , no where close . continuous web browsing and watching youtube gave me 5 hours while in macbook it gives me 7 hours after 2 years of having the computer !!! 2- trackpad : very good for a windows laptop it matches that of xps but sorry no where near the precision , accuracy and responsiveness of macbook pro trackpad 3- watching 4k video on this samsung laptop produces heat and fan noise , the laptop gets really hot , while i have zero fan sound on macbook pro playing 4k videos nor it gets hot . despite the fact that samsung is 6th generation core i 7 while my macbook pro is 4th these issues led me to return this laptop , sorry windows guys i really love windows and i wanted from heart to beat the macbook pro but it turned out to me that apple just make better computer and after all these experiences with windows laptops , i declare to the world that i am a mac man lol

The salesman at Best Buy recommended this model as an excellent 15 inch AND he had an open box on it which saved me 130.00, which he told me had been returned in a day only because the guy wanted to be able to add memory, which this one you cannot do. I didn't care about that as this one has all for my needs as it is. Previously, I tried and was disappointed in the Acer Aspire R14 inch that was on sale for 599.00, because the keyboard was lousy and back lit doesn't stay lit as it does on other lap tops with that feature, plus you end up in the Dominican Republic with customer support which really stinks. Samsung customer support is far superior, and they called me a day later to see if I was happy with their support. They really care. The other one I considered was the Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 2 in one, which had a primo keypad and was a far better quality than the Acer, but it was 900.00, and so what is a few hundred more to get the best of the best. After purchasing this Samsung model, I looked at consumer Reports and this Samsung was highly rated as a 15" laptop, just under Apple. I didn't want the Apple as it was way more expensive in the 15 inch and the Dell is also much more expensive, which is in competition with this model. This Samsung is much more reasonably priced than its competition (Dell, Apple). As far as brand reliability goes, Apple is #1 followed by Samsung #2. Dell was way down the list, second from the bottom! This model has the best of everything on it, and so I decided to splurge. It should last me many years. I wanted the new Solid State Drive and I also really wanted a larger screen, and this one had it all. I don't have any problems with blue colors showing up as green as some reviewers have mentioned. Probably my computer had the updated software that corrected that problem. It is a super quiet machine, and the keypad works great and the back lit stays lit. It also stays cool and is doesn't make a sound. The speakers are of excellent quality, although they don't get loud, just the typical loudness you get from a laptop. But with the Bluetooth feature, I decided to get a Bluetooth speaker, so now I have beautiful sound.

I had learned to love my previous Samsung New Series 9 laptop but it took a long time. When I broke the screen after 4 years, I thought it was time to upgrade. The newer ATIV models have much better specifications and come with Windows 10 which is not as good as 7 but so much better than 8. Eventually, I would need to run this OS so I figured it was better to have it preloaded on a new machine rather than upgrading from an older OS. Boy was I wrong. After 2 days of updating the preinstalled Windows 10 OS and Samsung drivers, I was finally able to install my applications. The biggest problem I have found so far is that the graphics really stink. Some programs appear horribly small and others gargantuan when they are running. No amount of driver settings can seem to fix this. On top of that, every video plays like I'm on a dial up modem even if the file is on the local hard drive. They shudder and jerk until they stop altogether. This seems to be a wide spread problem with Windows 10 but driver updates are all that is needed. HP, ASUS and others have fixed it in the Beta phase but not Samsung. Worst part of the problem is their online website does not even list this laptop in their drop down list, so I cannot go that route for support. Hardware wise, I am just a little underwhelmed. Based on the specifications, this should be a speed demon of a laptop. So far, the performance has been only slightly better than the 4 year old it replaced. It is slightly larger and heavier too. Overall, I'd say stay away from this laptop until Samsung gets their act together and writes display drivers that can accurately render the programs and videos correctly. Even then, I might never be able to love this laptop

Great build quality, way ahead of its time with dedicated graphics and a 4K touch screen.

Colors look washed out. Blue looks like green ! . Great piece of hardware but color problems put the 4K display to shame !! Samsung will need to do better to compete with the mac book pro .

Great laptop, everything works fine and graphic display is awesome. One problem appears with some apps caused by UHD resolution, but problem solved using DPI scaling. I huge recommend this product for everybody!
