I was looking for an MP3 for my 9 year old because he loves music but is not ready for a smart phone. Since they don’t sell iPods anymore we decided to try this. I have an older model from years ago and I liked it so we figured this one should be fine. This version is awesome! It’s small, easy to use, and the headphones are amazing. In fact, I think these are the best headphones I have ever used.

This player has many features outlined already by other reviewers. I use it for music playback. So far, I have about 1200 songs loaded with room to spare. It plays wav, mp3, mp4, and other file types. For consistency, I converted all my files to mp3. I have not used the radio, stopwatch/timer or book features...yet. Bluetooth works fine. Battery lasts about 8-10 hours with Bluetooth. As recommended, I run the battery to zero and then recharge it fully. Songs (files) are easy to load - simply drag and drop. Unit will re-index your files upon disconnecting (ejecting) from your computer. One confusing aspect: If you elect shuffle play, it will INCLUDE your playlist(s). So, your songs will bounce back and forth between your music folder and your playlist folder(s). LOVE the small size! It's great for my purposes...listening to music!

    great for language learning immersion

I bought these for language learning (idea is you get audio clips in your target language, and you constantly immerse yourself in the language passively listening while doing other things, like cooking and cleaning, and you keep it running, even if you're having to put them away for a bit. This way you don't have to get your phone out and start and stop it constantly) and for its support for Bluetooth ear buds. Pairing is a bit rough, but it works, having zero issue with the cheap jlab pop air go's I pair them with. The headphones they came with are okay, but I recommend upgrading them to something else, if you can. Only wish, is I wish I could put a larger mini sd, or have one in a 32-gigabyte size(which they do, but does not have Bluetooth support). I rarely have to charge it, at most even with heavy use about every 3-5 days or so. I also wish it charged with USB-C, making one less cable to carry around.

I bought this for my hubby because he uses it for work. It's one of the few MP3 players that has a radio. Fits nicely in your pocket. I liked it so much I bought one as well. It hooks up easily in the car so if I want to listen to something I already have it's ready to go. Has really good sound. It's also easy to save to. You just need to take the time especially if you are transferring music from CD to a computer and then to the MP3 player. Data transfers very quickly from the computer to the MP3 player. Very inexpensive for a music player that you can take with you. I would highly recommend it.

I did a lot of research and read numerous reviews before I purchased this MP3 player. Although it didn't come with a full instruction manual, it did have a 'quick start' guide, so it was easy to load music immediately after the battery was charged. I wanted to know about more advanced features and went to the SanDisk website to see if I could find FAQs. They had a downloadable PDF of the full instruction manual, so I found the answers to my questions, and learned about other helpful features as well. The included earbuds also act as the FM radio antenna. The reception is better than I expected for stations with strong frequencies in my area. I live in the sticks so I have limited access to FM radio stations. I simply extend the headphone cord to get the best reception I can. This is not to say that you can access all FM stations; it depends on the topography in your area and distance to the station. There is no AM radio; only FM. You can pre-set favorite stations. The 16GB model can store up to 4000 songs, depending on the length of the songs. (This is based on an average song length of 3.5 minutes, per the instruction manual PDF.) The battery is rechargeable with the included USB cable. Other features include a Sports section with a timer and a stop watch. There is also a Books section where you can load audiobooks and podcasts.

i've had other sandisk units in the past.: original sandisk clip was cheap and flimsy, broke after 2 months. my fuze lasted at least a few years, i liked it most overall although I hated the disc like controls which eventually wore out. the unit didn't survive a final fatal drop to the floor. my last sandisk clip lasted just over a year, but getting sweat down in the buttons/controls always made it useless, eventually just destroyed it. was very slow too. the battery never lasted long enough before needing charging. i wasn't happy with it. so i went looking and got this one needing something more sweatproof than anything else. but this has turned out to be a mistake for me because of the features lacking vs sandisk's other units. sweatproof? seems adequate. but not entirely because if you plug in earbuds, you have to open and leave the connector flap dangling so that i will someday rip off and get lost. they apparently didn't go with always exposed waterproof/water resistant connectors. i wanted to stick with sandisk mostly because they allow me to just connect my units to any of several pcs i use on the go and download podcasts directly from various web sites to my units. at least this is still a convenience. apparently there is no slot for external memory on this unit. i had to cut my music down a lot to transfer things over from my prior clip. 'podcasts' should be a top-level category itself.. for some reason sandisk continues to bury the podcasts selection down under 'books', even now when you can hide top-level categories. i was completely unaware i was loosing fast playback with this unit. this is a deal breaker for me and i'm going to have to start shopping again. i listen to economic and political podcasts. my listening coverage is down 25% and i'm not able to keep up with my weekly podcasts anymore. overall unit speed is much better than the last sandisk clip unit i had, acceptable. sound is good. wish they provided an elastic armband with clip mount with this, it's better than having to clip to my shirt/belt and relocate it constantly when i work out on different pieces of equipment at the gym. this unit has bluetooth. not tested. i do not currently use bluetooth earbuds.

For the price and storage capacity this is a pretty good MP3. Bought this to replace my Sony which just went dead after several years. It's not as intuitive and the album art from ripped cd's doesn't display, but again I can't complain because of the value. The bluetooth is my favorite feature, it links up to my wireless headphones with no issues, and the sound is excellent. This will do until I get an IPod Touch or Nano.

I bought this for my son to use in class. He is on the "Spectrum" and has sensory issues. His school has allowed us to send a music player and headphones, to use when working on assignments in class. The size makes it perfect for clipping inside his backpack and the FM feature allows more range in genre, when his installed songs get tiresome. The bluetooth capability is great, as headphone cables can get tangled and cumbersome.

I work somewhere secure, and this device was perfect for that. It's light and supports a wide variety of codecs (even FLAC). Comes with decent headphones too. The clip is sturdy, so it also works well for its intended use of being able to handle working out (though you'll probably opt for Bluetooth headsets in that case, which it supports). It'll even automatically play if you connect it to your stereo or any other device that supports a USB connection. This is hard to beat for its price. I have no complaints.

No longer being able to buy an Apple MP3 player, I was forced to look for another brand, This SanDisk was at Best Buy and ordinarily they don't carry/sell junk. SanDisk has been around for a while so I was willing to try it. All the songs I wanted to put on it had to be reformatted in order to transfer them, which wasn't all that hard to do but was a bit timestaking. The controls on the SanDisk are a bit confusing and can get aggravating at times. I'm hoping continued use will subdue the confusion and aggravation! The earbuds that came with the unit were very comfortable and sound really good.

Love this! Easy transfer, has FM radio, good sound quality, easy to control one- handed, navigation between apps on it (e.g. music to radio to podcast) is great. Can tuck it in a pocket or clip on a sleeve or jacket. Equalizer is simple and quick. Charges with a 'droid phone USB.
