Bought the WD Personal cloud and had nothing but problems. Changed to this and have nothing but smooth sailing. Get into the drive a lot faster and so far very seamless.

I love the idea of storing media on a device that I can access from any compatible device. The only issue is it disconnects from the network, requiring my to restart the router and hard drive to reaccess it. It works better than the WesternDigital MyBookLive did though. Good product, but still has issues.

I purchased this network attached storage for backup of my home PCs. I have multiple PCs on my home network and this allows me to backup the all the PCs (if desired). It was fairly easy to setup if you are comfortable with adding devices to you home network, and has proven to be reliable.

I couldn't make it connect with my iMac or MacBook. Returned it and bought the WD My Cloud instead.

After the easy setup my computers recognized it and I started enjoying. I placing and accessing several Gigabytes of files from any device on my network. Although I wish it was faster: Transferring from a wired PC to the wired hardrive thru a Gigabit router and Gigabit Ethernet card i was only able to transfer at 5 Mbit/s maximum which I consider slow if I can upload a huge file up to the cloud at over 15 Mbit/s to an internet site miles away. The worse part was when I found out that it performs worse streaming to my wireless devices (about 1 Mbits/s). That is too slow for my needs. It was not quiet either.

My boyfriend and I can share storage in our house and take all of the files we need anywhere we go! I love it.

After getting the unit up and running on my network, it was great. Faster than my usb connectted external. Can be setup with password. Great 4TB unit.

Easy setup, quick response. Currently using with Plex for a media server and to backup my Macs.

I was online and using the storage in minutes. Now I have a backup and access to my information.

Seagate - Central 4TB External Ethernet Shared Storage is a cool way to store all your pictures, etc. and have many ways to access them.

Bought this hoping to not have to run a computer for iTunes and the Apple TV. Unfortunately you cannot run Apple TV directly from the shared library. You can stream to ATV with airplay from a ipad or ipod etc. other than that, it has worked fine.

excellent value, automated backups for PC, laptop with multiple users and secured folders

The Seagate Central is a good external hard drive. It performs well and initial setup is quick. However, I had some issues with the password setup on the private folders and had to do a hard reset 3 times before it and me got in synch.

Was looking for storage for multiple computers on a wifi network. This did the job

Great but you will have to pay to add users so for home works out great but business be prepared to pay for the extra users

Setup was a breeze and only took a few minutes. Fast downloads of photos.

This device is an excellent backup device. Fits in a confined space, hooks up easily and above all, it works!

I'm very pleased with this device. It was as advertised and has been working just fine since I installed it. I've been able to remotely download movies onto my iPad and watch them when I'm out of town just fine.
