I got this to keep in my car to clean it once i to wash it. It its not the best at picking up dirt particles and hair from my cars floor. Now i use it to pick up litter that fell out of my cats litter box and vacuum his bed. Wish it was stronger.

I've had this vacuum for less than a month and it will only power on for a few seconds. Also the battery won't charge after being plugged. When it did work, it picked up debris well. However, the battery life was dismal, even after the 6 hours recommended for charging. Also the unit doesn't work while it's charging. That restriction along with the short battery life makes this vacuum useless most of the time. I wouldn't recommend ths item to anyone.

The Shark Ultra Cyclone CH951 is the latest entry in portable vacuum cleaners from Shark. Featuring wireless operation and a compact design, the CH951 is positioned specifically to handle small vacuuming duties, especially households with pets. In addition, it includes a motorized pet tool that specifically targets pet hair removal. As such, I was excited to test the CH951 to see how it would perform given various cleaning tasks. As one would expect, the CH951 is compact and easily fits in your hand. Clocking in at a mere 2.8 pounds, the CH951 is extremely light but definitely feels sturdy in its construction. It does not feel cheap at all. As for the various parts, everything should be fairly straightforward. On the front and back of the unit, you will notice the power button and charging port respectively. On the bottom, there is an eject button to access the small filter for cleaning. Additionally, on the button on the left side of the unit allows you to empty the dust collection bin. Furthermore, the Shark Ultra Cyclone includes three tools: the motorized pet hair removal tool as aforementioned, a tool for the baseboards, and lastly a brush tool. As for setup, you will need to charge the vacuum cleaner upon opening the unit. While the instructions note that it will take about six hours for a full charge, ours finished in roughly three hours. You will note the blue LED light will turn off once charging is completed. Moving on, I could not wait to test out our new vacuum cleaner. As for performance, the Shark Ultra Cyclone overall does what it was designed to do. Naturally, one should not expect the same suction as your larger vacuum cleaner, but given its wireless operation and size, the CH951 does extremely well. My first test was to see how much cat hair I could collect on our staircase. Using the pet hair removal tool, I proceeded to vacuum the first two stairs. On the corners of each stair, I applied a bit of pressure to lift up some more hair. Additionally, I ran the vacuum over each stair several times. Surprisingly, I was able to fill the whole dust bin after a few minutes of cleaning which was amazing. I also detached the pet hair removal tool and tried the baseboard tool around each stair to great results. Overall, it seemed to do a decent job. I also tried the pet removal tool on one of our chairs and once again I was able to collect quite a bit of hair, though not much as the staircase. I am fairly confident that most will be quite pleased with the results. Afterwards, I did not observe any hair clogged in the tool pet removal tool. In addition, I then proceeded to try the CH951 in one our vehicles to see how it will fare in a different environment. I took the driver side floor mat out of the vehicle and proceeded to clean. On this test, the suction seemed to be a little more varied. I seemingly had to work it a bit more in the various areas around the seat but as for the floor mat, I was quite satisfied with the results. Comparing the before and after pictures that I took, the CH951 seemed it was up to the task. Conclusively, I think the CH951 excels in small areas that are in need of cleaning. Overall, most will be happy with their purchase, provided that you understand the suction is limited when compared to larger cleaners. In conclusion, the CH951 is designed to be the perfect compact solution that will facilitate cleaning in areas where larger vacuums cleaners are more difficult to use. With its compact design and wireless operation, you will no longer be limited in areas where you can vacuum. I was pleasantly surprised with the pet hair removal tool which did a exceptional job on both my staircase and various chairs. The best part was that I did not see any hair clog inside the tool. As for my recommendation, the CH951 is best positioned as a supplement with your larger household vacuum cleaner, as trying to use this as a main vacuum cleaner would be extremely difficult or impossible. This will ensure that where you need more suction than the CH951 can handle, you will not be disappointed. With all things considered, the Shark Ultra Cyclone CH951 does its job very well. In addition, the CH951 is perfect for when you need to clean your vehicle as well other small areas around the house such as couches or chairs. Thus, as the perfect companion to your larger vacuum cleaner, the Shark Ultra Cyclone CH951 is recommended.

VERY GOOD AND POWERFUL HANDHELD VACUUM

The Shark - UltraCyclone Pet Pro+ CH951 Cordless Hand Vac with Self-Cleaning Pet Power Brush is not just another handheld vacuum. It has a unique and very capable motorized pet hair / fur brush attachment that distinguishes this vacuum from the rest of the pack. The Shark CH951 comes with several accessories. Each of the attachments simply slip on to the front of the vacuum unit and are retained by friction. They include a narrow Crevice Tool, which measures only 1” x 0.5” on the end. This narrow orifice likely improves the suction of the vacuum by increasing air velocity, but it does not clean a very wide swath. It is most useful for cleaning corners, cushion seams, and other tight spaces. The “scrubbing brush” attachment has very short, ¼” long, stiff synthetic bristles. It’s good for surfaces which are not easily scratched, or for fabrics that will not be easily abraded. Generally, a brush attachment for a vacuum is referred to as an “upholstery brush” or a “dusting” attachment, and has longer, softer bristles. This brush is obviously different, and I will not use it to dust electronics or vehicle dashboard areas or anything else that requires a softer brush. The third attachment is the standout. The motorized, pet brush is really special. The motorized pet brush is different from typical vacuums. It installs easily by simply slipping it onto the nose of the vacuum, just like the other non-powered attachments. However, in order to power the motorized brush, there are two prongs which mate with the handheld unit and supply the battery power to the motorized brush. The effective cleaning width of the powered brush is 2-3/8”. Again, not a terribly wide cleaning swath, but not bad at all for this type of small unit. What is truly unique about the motorized brush, is that the “brushes” are not comprised of bristles. Rather, they are fabricated from what appears to be reinforced vinyl or vinyl fabric which serves as the “beaters” instead of the typical bristles brushes. Thus, when the brush unit is rotating and “beating” the surface being cleaned, pet (or human) hair does not become entangled or wrapped around the brushes. Brilliant! It would have been nice if a storage solution for the loose attachments was included; perhaps a drawstring bag. The main vacuum unit measures approximately 18” in overall length without any attachments affixed, and about 4” tall and 4” wide. There is a large loop style handle, with the thumb operated power switch immediately in front of the handle on the top of the unit. The balance is front heavy, but this is a relatively light appliance, and the weight and weight distribution are very comfortable. The vacuum motor is listed as being 8 amps. It is powered by a rechargeable, 2000 mAh Lithium Ion battery, which requires around six hours for a full recharge. The rechargeable battery is internal; not a removable battery pack where a second battery can be kept ready for lengthy cleaning sessions. It does not appear that the rechargeable battery is user serviceable. It appears that the unit will run for about 10 – 15 minutes on a charge, which is adequate for the type of cleaning tasks that this style of vacuum is designed for. It is a relative certainty that the operating time of the unit is reduced when the motorized brush unit is also being powered by the unit’s battery. There is an LED lamp adjacent to the pushbutton power switch, which indicates battery status when in operation, and the charging status when attached to the included low voltage charger. The vacuum motor is directly in front of the handle, and the exhaust is from both sides, at about a 45° angle. The vacuum is a bit loud, but not terribly so. The front of the vacuum motor is protected by a removable and washable frame mounted filter. Replacement filters are also available, which is good. Ahead of the filter is the dust cup, which collects the material ingested by the vacuum. The dust cup is not terribly large, but it actually held more detritus than I would have estimated. Dumping the contents of the dust cup requires only the press of a release button, and the hinged dust cup swivels downwards allowing the contents to be easily emptied. The Shark CH951 is relatively powerful for its compact size and weight. The suction is decent and it does a good job for small cleaning tasks. It is very well suited to a quick cleanup of a small area, the sofa cushions or a car mat or floor. Its small size and the small apertures of the cleaning attachments are clearly not intended for undertaking large cleaning tasks. We find it extremely handy to simply be able to quickly grab this self-contained vacuum for a quick cleanup. A caveat is that it is necessary to be attentive to the angle at which the vacuum is utilized, in order to maintain a relatively flat plane between the vacuum attachment and the surface being cleaned. If the angle becomes too shallow, the suction applied to the surface is reduced and the cleaning efficiency is diminished. The Shark CH951 is quite adept at collecting hair and fur, without the brushes becoming an entangled mess which is typical of other vacuums. The yellow synthetic strips which serve as the “brushes” do a nice job of removing hair and fur from carpets, which is the most difficult surface to remove fur from in my experience. However, I have to admit that this vacuum is no match for a prolific shedder like a German Shepherd, which is capable of producing fur/hair clumps the size of tumbleweed. This is evidenced by the extremely large bags of our central vacuum system, which are always bursting with Shepherd “wool”. For cleaning a small area, a few pieces of furniture, a car seat, or other limited areas, the Shark CH951 is terrific. The compact, lightweight and powerful Shark CH951 is really convenient, and very capable. It is handy to grab for quick cleanups and demonstrates very good cleaning performance.

The Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro+ is a battery powered handheld vac that comes with the self cleaning Pet Power Brush, as well as a crevice and upholstery brush attachment. I have recently welcomed a furry friend back into my home after several year pet hiatus. My very floofy husky rescue provided all the fur I needed to test out this pet vac. Clocking in at 21”, the Pet Pro isn’t the most compact handheld I have used – my old DC59 is about 6” shorter. Weight of the vacuum isn’t too bad at 2.8lbs (about the same as my Dyson), and its weight is evenly distributed. There’s to trigger to pull on this, but rather a simple on/off button. The handle is a basic loop in the hand reminiscent of the old dust busters. The vac comes apart in 2 places – the dust/debris door and the filter opening. The filter is washable, but you will want to let it air dry completely before reinserting into the vac. I’ve used the vac quite a bit since my dog leaves traces of his fluffiness everywhere. I’ve tried it out on medium pile carpeted stairs, low pile runners, bedding, upholstery, and my car seats. I noticed that my dog’s fur is crinkly instead of straight hairs, which means it latches on to stuff even more than normal fur. With that in mind the Power Brush did really well on the medium and low pile carpet/rugs, bedding, and the microfiber surfaces of my car seats. I usually use my Dyson on the steps (wider head), but I felt that this did just as well at picking up the fluff. I also thought it did really well on my low pile carpet runners – an area that honestly too large to do this regularly but good for spot treatments. Where I most liked using the vac was on my bedding. My dog is very much a sleep-at-your-feet dog, so naturally my bed gets fluffy after a few nights. I used the Power Brush attachment and it strips the vast majority of fluff off the bed. I can’t even vacuum my duvet with the DC59 because it grabs up the bedding too much and stops the vacuum altogether. For me, this is the best area to use the vac on a frequent basis, and saves a ton of lint roller strips. I did try it out on my IKEA futon – no pile polyester upholstery – results were pretty dismal with the Power Brush. Using the upholstery scrubber attachment I was able to pick up the fluff, but it was super slow going. In this area my Dyson pulled most of the fluff, and I lint rolled the rest. The same story for my car’s carpeted areas – it did well on the microfiber seats though. The Power Brush didn’t have enough grip to pull the fluff out of fibers. The worst performance was on the back of my fold down rear seats – that extra fluffy carpet surface with no padding. It pretty much didn’t remove any fluff from that at all. To be fair the Dyson wasn’t perfect either, but it removed a lot of the fluff and made a noticeable difference. I actually had to break out my shop-vac with a brushy head to get the fluff out of this area. There is an available motorized bristled brush on Shark’s website. I’m thinking about picking it up for use in those poor performing areas. The tangle free head is very nice to use, but sometimes you have to have the bristles to dig the fluff out. Using the vac isn’t too bad. The dust compartment doesn’t fill up too fast because its decently sized. I don’t have a good estimate for battery life – maybe 10-15min with the Power Brush on a full charge. Longer if you are using a non-powered attachment. The push button on/off is better than holding the trigger down on my DC59, so I liked this. The dust compartment is easy to empty, and the filter is simple to pull out and clean. Charging it is straightforward – plug it in and leave it for 6 hours to hit a full charge. Ergonomics aren’t the best to be honest. Using the vacuum in any position other than down on the ground is somewhat tough on the wrist. The vac is long, the weight is evenly distributed, and the handle is just a loop makes it a poor combination. If the weight was more to the handle, or if the handle was a pistol-grip, or if the vac was shorter then this wouldn’t be an issue. But because its none of those things this leads to extra strain and discomfort. Vacuuming the back of carseat, the sides of my futon, or the faces of my steps felt uncomfortable without using my other hand to support the vac. For demographics - I’m an in shape man in my early 30’s. So overall the vac works pretty well depending on your use case. It has good suction, and the Power Brush achieves its claim of being tangle free. It certainly has its limitations – of which I found several – but that can be worked around with some other attachments. The ergonomics on the other hand are below average and not what I would have expected from Shark. This limits it the most in my eyes, and is something to keep in mind if you have a lot of sideways surfaces to clean. I want to give this 3.5/5 but there’s no half stars here, so it gets a 4.

This is the "dustbuster" you wish you always had. It has great suction, an easy to empty dirt container and a cyclone suction which prevents the filter from getting clogged. It’s very well-designed and will hopefully last me for quite a while. When you take it out of the box, you'll immediately notice the familiar size and shape of a handheld vacuum. You'll also notice a rotor attachment which is a little less common on such devices. This would be a great handheld vacuum even without the motorized rotor. It's well-balanced with the motor mounted in line in front of the handle. The pushbutton switch brings it to life with a quiet wine and lets you know you can easily pick up scattered litter, Cheerios, or any other dry mess which needs to be addressed. I even used it to suck the dust bunnies off my robot vacuum cleaner roller. It picked things up quickly and easily without having to go back over it multiple times. The motorized rotor puts this vacuum in a different class. Shark somehow built a rotor which is strong enough to scrape up hair and dirt from a rug, but also not send litter flying across the floor. I once forgot to take the rotor off before cleaning the area around his litter box. I had no worries as it was all sucked up in the end. I also used this vacuum to clean the stairs instead of lugging my upright around. One my bedspread, it quickly removed cat hair from where he sleeps. It scraped the hair off in a single pass at a moderate speed. When I was done, not one hair was stuck to the roller. It was all neatly deposited in the dustbin. A push of a button over the trash can, and one second later the dustbin was empty. When opened, the bin flaps down while still being attached to the vacuum. This allows for easy one hand operation to prevent the dust from flying everywhere. Battery life is in line with what I expected. It takes 5 to 10 minutes to vacuum the stairs and another 5 to 10 minutes cleaning up litter before the battery light starts blinking signaling it’s time for a charge. The manual says the charge will take about two hours. I just leave it on the charger overnight and worry about it the next day. I vacuum regularly, but never more than once in a single day.

**Review for Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro+ CH951 Cordless Hand Vac with Self-Cleaning Pet Power Brush - Black** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently purchased the Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro+ CH951 Cordless Hand Vac from BestBuy, and I am absolutely thrilled with its performance! As a pet owner, I was looking for a vacuum that could effectively tackle pet hair and dander, and this handheld vacuum has exceeded my expectations. One of the standout features of this vacuum is the self-cleaning pet power brush. It effortlessly removes pet hair from upholstery and carpets, and the self-cleaning mechanism ensures that the brush stays free of tangles, which is a huge time-saver. I no longer have to spend extra time detangling hair from the brush after each use! The cordless design is incredibly convenient, allowing me to move around my home without being tethered to an outlet. The battery life is impressive, providing ample power to clean multiple areas before needing a recharge. I appreciate the lightweight design, which makes it easy to maneuver and carry around, especially when cleaning hard-to-reach spots. The suction power is strong, effectively picking up dirt, crumbs, and pet hair with ease. I’ve used it on various surfaces, including carpets, hardwood floors, and furniture, and it performs exceptionally well on all of them. The dust cup is easy to empty, and I love that I can see when it’s time to clean it out. Overall, I highly recommend the Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro+ CH951 to any pet owner or anyone in need of a reliable handheld vacuum. It’s efficient, easy to use, and does an excellent job of keeping my home clean and free of pet hair. BestBuy made the purchasing process seamless, and I’m very happy with my choice!

Great suction and portability, the attachments are very useful and the vacuum itself is lightweight. The battery life is not the best, it takes several hours for a full charge and only lasts for about 30 mins of total use. I do wish that there was a longer attachment to get into smaller crevices. I got this for cleaning my car but it's also useful for around the house.

The suction power is good. It easily picks up dust, dirt, crumbs, and even pet hair from various surfaces such as carpets, upholstery, and hard floors. It is portable and lightweight which makes it incredibly easy to maneuver and carry around. The vacuum's lithium-ion battery offers decent runtime on a single charge. I found that I could complete several small cleaning tasks before needing to recharge, which is quite convenient. The dust cup is simple to remove and empty, and it can be cleaned without much hassle. It comes with a set of attachments for different cleaning tasks, including a crevice tool for narrow spaces and a pet hair tool for tackling fur-covered surfaces. I don't like that the charging dock has to purchased separately. Overall this is a convenient cleaning tool for quick and efficient spot cleaning. It's perfect for small to medium cleaning tasks.

I live on a ranch, with dogs and goats shedding hair constantly. The dogs like to ride in the truck and the humans get covered in goat hair while working. The 'farm' truck which never goes anywhere but moving stuff on the farm, is literally covered in dog hair. This Shark vacuum scrubbed it right off with very little effort on my part. Picture worth a thousand words! Check out the blue truck seat and it's easy to see where I used the vacuum and where I did not. This seat had probably not been vacuumed in years, but it took only four or five minutes to really get the hair sucked up! Like all Sharks, it's easy to dump the dirt and hair. Charges quickly and it doesn't weigh much. For the tough areas, the hair had embedded itself, so I used different directions with the rotating pet tool to try to coax it out. Worked like a charm!!! It even worked on the carpet in the tan truck. This vacuum is ideal for those who have animals in and out of the car. It also works on upholstery inside the house, nooks in the carpet, well, just everwhere!

Forget Dyson, I've owned Shar products for years and they always work best. I had my neighbor ask to use my Shark because it worked better than her Dyson. I have an upright and this hand vac. it is so powerful don't take my word for it you need to buy one and use it. It would suck the curtains off the windows if I let it! Great for cleaning the car and for quick pick ups. I have 2 dogs that are always making mess and aI clean it right up and quickly. It also removes hard to remove pet hair off the sofa, bed, and any furniture. Excellent product...
