This product works great I use them for my Arlo camera's and lights.
Common sense is needed to place them in the right area. Wish they made a longer cord, but made it happen with some after market 25 ft ones I bought. They work great, I live in California so lots of sun here. My cameras stay charged at 100% most of the time. Cloudly days their around 97% charged. Still Great get's the job done. I clean them about every 6 months. Helps

We have a camera on the front of our house this is connected to. It is facing east but still gets more than enough charge to make it through the night. Have had cloudy and rainy days as well and no problem. Easy to install and hook up to the camera as well. Could be a little cheaper as around $75 per camera is a bit much but it does save getting on a ladder to change our batteries.

Not for cloudy days

Works fine on fully sunny days. After a rainy day followed by a cloudy day battery was down to 90% and there was a message the charger needed to be unplugged and then plugged in again. On a day when the sun was full in the morning the device charged from 90% to 94%. Then when the clouds came for a few minutes, then sun a few minutes, then cloud a few minutes, the message was incompatible device. If the software simply allowed for the inconsistencies of natural sunlight it think it would probably work well enough to significantly lengthen the interval between battery changes or possibly eliminate manual battery charging and changing. However the barrage of error complaints is not preferable to charging and changing batteries. Especially for the price.

Love my new solar panel. I'm glad to stop climbing on the ladder and recharging the battery...worrying it will die before I can get to it.
It shows on the phone app when the panel charges. I can see it charging on cloudy days as well. Easy to install with drill.
I hope they make this in white soon!

Waited for this solar panel, read reviews, and finally purchased 2 solar panels for my busiest cameras.
Decided on solar panel locations and after delaying the install it was finally done by this procrastinator.
Before install and connection to the solar panels the batteries of the cameras were charged to 100%. Since connected to the solar panels the lowest the batteries have decreased is to 94%. No more ladder climbing for recharging batteries is worth the cost!!

Set up and mounting was very easy. I have only used it a few days but even with some semi-direct light (not full and only for a few hours) the panel did charge the battery in one camera from 98% to 100% quickly. I will see over time but I looked at battery life on this camera this morning and it is showing charged. I would make sure you start with a charged battery as I believe this panel will best maintain the battery life when starting with a fully charged camera battery. I will try to update if things change since this product is pretty new to the market.

Solar Panel Makes Arlo Pro Almost Perfect

Was looking forward to the release of these panels and picked one up as soon as they were released. I love my Arlo cameras but one of my cameras gets a lot of activity and I was having to charge it every couple months. Installed the panel facing south about a month ago and my camera is maintaining its charge at 100%.
Was a bit more expensive than panels from competitors like ring but it is the only option from Arlo.
Not much more to ask for from this panel. Will be interesting to see how it performs in the winter with shorter days, cold and snow.

The solar panel works as expected. The camera and panel are installed over the garage. Having the panel saves me from using a ladder to remove and charge the battery. Since it covers the driveway and captures movement from the sidewalk and street the camera sees a lot of action. I can now go on vacation and not worry about the battery running low before I get home. The only con is the larger than expected footprint. I ordered online not knowing the exact measurements. I would have liked to had a smaller panel. Still, overall a good purchase.

The Arlo Solar Panel is the answer to eliminating theft or sabotage of your Arlo Pro Camera. With the Solar Panel the camera can be mounted out of reach of would be assailants, the rechargeable battery will remain nearly fully charged at all times and is rendered maintenance free. Nice. However, I did experience camera failure to when mounted exposed to a severe rainstorm. Arlo Solar Panel - very nice. Arlo Pro Camera- unimpressive.

We love this feature for our Arlo. We don’t have to worry about batteries anymore because the solar panel charges continuously. Recently we had storms or two days and it stayed charged. We bought the solar panel due to the placement of the camera on our house so we wouldn’t have to keep getting a ladder to get it down to charge it. We love this feature for our Arlo. Bought it to change a camera that's in a tricky spot to access because it's kind of hidden. It's worked perfectly since install in winter and will see how it does in the summer conditions.
It only receives sunlight in the winter at about 1-4:30pm due to shadows and early sunsets, so it was initially charging for only about 3hrs per day. It's a trickle charge and took a week or so to go from 20% to 100%, with some days being totally cloud cover or the panel being totally buried in snow. It was actually working once with only 20% of the panel being out of the snow, pretty impressive.
It will be getting some direct sun in the summer but I have it positioned where it hopefully won't melt. In Denver that's my big concern.

I have several Arlo Pro cameras around my house, but one goes dead much faster than the rest because it faces a pretty busy neighborhood street and is triggered to record with every passing car. The battery level would drop around 15-20% a day. I purchased this for that camera, and it works great. It was just as easy to install as the camera itself, and it charges it to 100% every day. Granted, I’ve only used the product for about a week and a half, but it’s worked well so far. The hardest part was removing the camera from the Arlo Outdoor Mount. One of the cameras would NOT unscrew from the mount so I actually had to use a different camera and switch them out.

A couple of reviews for this item gave it only one star because of a defective product that had to be returned /replaced. But, the majority were 4 and 5 star ratings so I went for it, and so far I'm not disappointed. I'm not the most skilled handyman, but I managed to mount and install the solar panel following the clear and simple instructions that came with it. I charged the Arlo Pro camera battery as recommended by one of the reviewers prior to connecting the solar panel. It was at 85% when I hooked it up and it's up to 88% now after about three hours of sunlight but on the first day. I deem that a good sign that it will perform as advertised and preclude the need to periodically take down the camera - which I use as a hummingbird cam - to charge the battery.

Best purchase ever! I have 3 arlo pro cameras installed with solar panels thru BestBuy installation services, and while it took a few attempts to get a working Solar Panel, in the end the hassle was worth it, and with AZ sun, the charging is 100% everyday! No climbing ladders and recharging/buying batteries!

I installed a arlo system at my moms house and put one of the camera's up high outside her entrance. Every couple of weeks I would have to drag the ladder out and take down the arlo to recharge it which was a pain. I bought this Solar Panel and popped it up in no time flat. Three screws to hold the mount to the house just like the Arlo camera mount, then plug the cable to the arlo and you are done. No more panicked calls from my mom saying the camera is down to 10 percent and how is she supposed to watch the raccoons at the bird feeders during the night. Happy Mom, Happy Son!!!

This is a very nice addition to an Arlo system. It's great not to have to keep swapping out batteries (especially in hard to reach places). The build quality is very solid and easy to install. The price is little hard to swallow though. If it were $20 cheaper, I would probably buy for other cameras.

Our outdoor Arlo system is kept high on the second floor which made changing the battery out difficult. This is the perfect solution. The device is kept charged and have never had an issue with getting enough charge. Not a single with it so far. It's been through rain and gloomy days and has been great.

This thing is an amazing add on to the Arlo Pro. I had questioned the amount of sun light that it would take to charge but as it turns out it does not take much to get this back to 100% every day. Strangely it seems to discharge faster but it does not matter because it makes it back to 100% every day.

There is an issue with these solar panels. When they work well, they are great, but I'm on my 3rd one now. I purchased one from Amazon, which lasted a couple of months, one from BestBuy which lasted a few days. They all have performed very inconsistently!
The first one, would charge somewhat mediocrely , but I had no issues, until ( I'm not 100% sure it's connected, but needs to be mentioned) a decent rainstorm. Then, I would get error messages saying it's incompatible, tried all the troubleshooting steps, etc - and finally had to replace it.
On the 2nd one, there was a noticeable improvement on how much it charged, even though it was in the exact same place, and direction of sunlight. It however, lasted for only about 10 days (also after rain), and then I had same compatibility error messages.
Asides from the rain possibly playing a factor, there have been cheaper ( non Arlo ) solar panels available on other websites, and it is possible that in an effort to shut these other manufacturers out, that something in Arlo's software, is also inadvertently affecting their own panels. Nevertheless, Netgear really needs to sort this issue out. They have to be aware, as there are many, many other accounts, even in their own forums, about this issue. These panels could be awesome, but they are far from reliable, and I really don't have much faith on how long this current panel will last. For the record, it is not an issue with the camera, as issue was checked against my other Arlo Pro cams, with same result. Netgear were also involved with troubleshooting, when I couldn't resolve the issue, with no better results.
I'm hoping that it is a software issue, and that Netgear can address this in future software updates, but as of right now, I cannot in all honesty recommend this product, and at quite a high price for a solar panel, it needs to be at the very least, reliable.
