Highly recommended if you do not want to be charging your cameras every time the run out of battery

Does exactly what it says. Purchased for someone as a gift so they wouldn't have to keep charging their cam.

It was very helpful, now I can leave my cameras hooked up to solar, to charge without taking camera off.

I bought my solar panel at Best Buy in mid May. Unfortunately, we had so much rain that I wasn’t able to install it until a couple of weeks later. On the first day, it seemed to work. The app indicated the camera was charging. The next day, even though it still indicated it was charging, it was Actually draining my battery. By the 3rd day, my battery was dead! I never received any type of error message. It was too late to return it to Best Buy, so I contacted Arlo customer support. They had me jump through so many hoops - changing batteries, changing cameras - that by the time I was done, I spent more time on this than I would have replacing batteries for two years! Finally, they agreed to send me a replacement. Since I did not want to take down the defective panel until I received the new one, I had to pay a significant shipping charge. The new panel finally arrived a few days ago, and I installed it yesterday. Same problem! The battery is down to about 50% - one day later! If I just use the battery, it would take a good month to get this low. Don’t buy this junk - it doesn’t work. I’m not going through the hoops again with Arlo. I’ll just take the $100 loss (cost of the panel, plus shipping). I’ve had a solar panel on one of my Ring cameras for at least 3 years now - and its still working like a charm. I’ve used both systems since they first came out. Ring has never failed me - but I’m done with Arlo.

Used these for remote cameras on my storage building. get movement alerts on my phone. very nice

If you have a low battery this may not charge it up to a full power mode. It works to keep it full but only in the sunny WARM weather. In cold weather it doesn't do too well.

A plausible reason for the increased power drawl could be due to the firmware. I assume the camera goes to peak setting pulling the most power possible draining the battery quicker. However, even when the camera is not receiving powers from the panel, the camera seems to loss charge much quicker. Plus the panel (during winter) with half days sunlight only charges the camera by 2 to 3%. Which isn’t great when I am losing close to 10% a day. Maybe in the summer time I will have better results. All though, an optimal position for peak sun input is not an option for the location of my camera.

Bad experiences had too wait three week But when the right guy original installer came all was fixed Now waiting on refund I Bought a new solar panel while the other was still under warranty
