Sonos Ace Headphones
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I had first heard Sonos was coming out with an over the ear headphone, I was excited. I have several Sonos products in my home, and they are amazing, so I had high hopes and expectations for the Ace headphones. I had gone into test them and listen in comparison to the Air Pods Max headphones, and they did not disappoint. Esthetically, they have a simple, sleek and slimming design which to the eye, feels like a quality product. They are light and comfortable to wear for long periods of time and the button placement and functionality makes them easy to use via tactile operation. The clarity & warmth of sound along with the depth of the base is what you would expect as Sonos does this well across all their products. Their ANC and transparency work great and does a great job especially in different environments and situations. Connecting them to Bluetooth was seamless which I was worried about given at launch there was challenges noted on the forums with this. The battery life is true to what is stated. I had used them on and off over several days and they still carried charge. Lastly, in comparison to the Air Pods Max which I also like, the price point makes them more attractive without compromising quality. If you are looking for an over the ear headphone, I would highly recommend giving these a try. You will not be disappointed.

Sonos headphones finally!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent fit, very good design and materials used, plus they're comfortable enough to wear for a long time. Sound quality is very good and "Aware Mode" is much better than I expected. ANC a very good performer as well. I only wish the price was about $100 cheaper. Lose a star because the initial app setup was a pain to deal with and it took me several attempts to configure it. Other than that no complaints so far.

Pretty Decent.
|Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound great. I’ve been told the lows compared tot he mids, and high arent that great but when adjusted they get ese are meant more for movies than listening to music. Airpods max sound better with music. These are WAY more comfortable than airpods max. Connections is great. The app is trash. Sound is good but nothing innovative or geound braking. Not worth the money unless you get them for the $300-$375 range

The Best Wireless Headphones I Have Ever Owned!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m going to start this review by saying these headphones have amazing sound quality, excellent build quality and great comfort. They have become my favorite wireless headphones and I have a lot of headphones. Sound QUALITY – First thing I want to say is that these headphones have amazing sound quality. The clarity of the music and the well rounded highs, mids, and bass is unlike anything I have experienced from other top contenders. I listen to a wide range of music genres and they sound great with everything I listen to. Honestly I don’t think my other headphones will be used anymore. Build Quality – These headphones are built solid, but at the same time they are light weight. Other headphones are either solid metal and heavy or plastic and cheap feeling. The SONOS ACE have a mix of plastics and metal but they have managed to give them solid build quality while keeping the weight down which leads to extreme comfort. Comfort – Speaking of comfort, these headphones are super comfy. They have really soft padding on the headband and on the earcups. Wearing these for long hours I have only noticed a slight heat up of my ears, but its nothing that I would consider a downside or affecting the overall comfort. The earcups are also removable with magnets securing them to the headphones, so if needed they are very easy to clean and replace. Active Noise Cancellation – So I have two other headphones that I would say have the best noise-canceling on the market, until now. I ride the train on a daily basis and it can be a very loud environment. I have tested the SONOS ACE against two of the top market leaders and they absolutely do a better job than both of those. I honestly didn’t think they would but they are superb. When they say world class noise cancelling, they are telling the truth. As of today they noise cancelling is stellar. TV Audio Swap – This is the area where things get a little complicated. SONOS has marketed these headphones as a home theatre headset when connected to one of their soundbars. I have both the ARC and the BEAM Gen2 and using the TV Audio Swap feature is very easy to do, by long pressing the multi-function button the audio playing from your TV instantly transfers to the headphones. This feature works as it should and I believe is really nice. However, due to the wide range of streaming APPS I have found there is an issue with the volume output of content depending on what you are watching. I have notified SONOS about this and they promised to fix this with a software update before the headphones launched. There was an update on June 4th, but the change in output volume sadly was only an incremental change. I believe that with more feedback from consumers SONOS will figure this out, but as of today I don’t think its completely there yet. Don’t get me wrong, the audio is still usable and depending on the format of the content you are watching you could get good volume output, but its not consistent and because of that more headroom of the volume output is needed to make up for these inconsistencies. I would say right now if you are buying these for the TV Audio Swap feature, you might find it under-whelming. I only hope SONOS will listen to its fans and figure this out. Hardware – The button layout on the SONOS ACE is very well laced out. There is a Content Key Button which serves as a multi-function button. You can adjust the volume of the headphones, play/pause content, answer or end a call and long press for the TV Audio Swap from a supported soundbar. In my testing I can say the button is very easy and accurate to use and have found no issues with the function or placement of this button. There are two other buttons on the ACE. There is a power/pair button on the left ear up and under the content button on the right ear up is a noise cancel/aware mode button. Aware Mode – This is a feature that everyone does a little different. SONOS has defiantly done a good job here. When using the Aware Mode, You can hear everything around you and most important it sounds very natural. It doesn’t sound like your listening to the surrounding environment through microphones, which is exactly how this feature works. I have had conversations with coworkers and family members with no issue. They have nailed this feature as well. If you have made it this far into the review, congratulations!! You have made it to the end and I will leave you with this, If you are a SONOS fan and are looking for an amazing sounding pair of wireless headphones, then I highly recommend you give these a try. I honestly believe right now it will be hard to find better. If you want them solely or largely for the TV Audio Swap feature, be prepared to feel underwhelmed as of today, but I hope they sort this out soon.

Great ANC Headphones
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first got the Ace, I was a little underwhelmed the volume seemed very low when turned almost all the way up. I use Apple Music as my service of choice and it was trying to push the Atmos codec to the headphones, which it can't use, so after going into the settings and turning off Atmos for Apple Music the volume jumped up to a much better level and the audio was crystal clear. The audio is very balanced and not as bass heavy as my 1000XM3 were. The switching of the audio from a Sonos soundbar, after set up, is quick and works great. I also was recently on a flight and got to test out the ANC and it worked beautifully allowing me to enjoy my music and movies in peace. I think these are great headphones and would definitely recommend them.

Top 3 Headphones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sonos Ace is in the top 3 of headphones! They feel great and sound even better. PROS: -noise cancellation -audio -noise pass through -easy controls -comfortable wear These headphones are my go-to pair when I go on flights. The A.N.C. is amazing and effectively drowns out the airplane noise without requiring me to turn the volume up on my movie. The volume and music controls are very easy to use. I have a big head and these still feel comfortable to me over longer periods. CONS: -will make ears sweat a little -The Sonos app did not recognize my headphones at first -Not much audio control compared to Sony and Bose -high price Although these headphones are great, the caveats can seem a little daunting. After a long while, my ears will start to sweat a little. Not a major concern, but a slight discomfort. The Sonos app, of course, still has its issues, and for me, it would not recognize my headphones, and thus, I could not control the EQ. However, there is not much customization available for the audio. The price of these headphones seems a little high, but it is comparable to that of their competition. I got these open box and they were almost brand new. Anything below $400 is a steal for these. In conclusion, these headphones are ideal for students, frequent travelers, or anyone who enjoys listening to music and movies without distractions.

Excellent over USB C
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do really like these headphones. I really like the design, build, and comfort. The button slider for volume and control and next/previous track is also a really nice touch. Sound quality is where I have any critique. I find the sound quality a little underwhelming over Bluetooth. It just sounds kind of wimpy. I’m using a Galaxy S24 over AptX classic listening to FLAC files with ANC off. It still sounds good, but not what I was hoping for at this price point. Where they shine is over a USB C wired connection. They sound really good when I have it directly connected to my phone. The sound is so much fuller. The bass punches to a good level but not overwhelming. I also really like the mids and the highs. I only listen to these headphones over Bluetooth if I’m walking around the house doing chores. Otherwise I listen exclusively over a wired connection. I got these on sale and open-box, and I am very happy with my decision, but at MSRP, I would do my research to see if these are best for you.

Better to Buy New
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sonos Ace work perfectly with Arc Ultra. They consistently connect on demand. Tried to save some money and purchase open box perfect, but unit would not charge. Also tried Ama**** and that "perfect" unit came with a broken case. Finally purchased new from Best Buy and could not be happier. Sound quality is excellent and the fit is very comfortable for extended wearing.

Movies Yes, Music Kinda/Maybe/Sorta
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Marking a 5, but these are about a 4.6. Music: 4/5 Movies: 6/5 Movies are what I bought them for so I’m satisfied. But music leaves something to be desired. Like others have said, the AirPods Max are the closest thing to compare. But these are WAY more comfortable, lighter, better looking. Max’s have better bass, but I can only wear those for 20min and I can wear the Ace’s for hours. For movies, they’re incredible. Demo them with Top Gun Maverick and you’ll be sold. I own 8 pairs of headphones / earbuds and I still pull these out almost daily. I think if Sonos hears the reviews and they tweak gen2, these will be amazing.

Wonderful Earphones
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have two Sonos speakers...the Beam and the Five. I wanted comfortable earphones to use mainly with the Beam while watching TV at night, and I figured a Sonus product would pair with them easily. The Sonos sounded great in the store (nice to be able to try then out in person), so although rather costly, I took the chance on the Ace. They are really wonderful...great sound, extremely comfortable on the ears. You can switch on the setting to block out background noise if necessary, and that part of it works fantastically. I turned it on to block the sound of a very loud air conditioner, and I couldn't hear the AC at all. Otherwise, without a lot of room noise you don't need that feature and you just keep it off. Connecting it to the TV/Beam system was fairly easy although not immediately obvious. You must use that Sonos app, and the only complaint I have is that Sonos should provide a good instruction sheet to make that connection part easier. I almost had to call Sonos for help, but I eventually figured it out. To Sonos: Please provide some sort of user manual! Otherwise, battery life seems great, and it comes with a nice protective case.

So no noise Sonos
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a Sonos fan for years now with few hiccups to complain about. These headphones are no exception. They are comfortable, well made and a solid performer . The noise cancelling is top notch and filters out fan noise in my room nicely. The movie experience is immersive with a realistic quality. Music is equally enjoyable and top notch. Are wired headphones better? I'm not willing to spend the thousands it would cost to find out. I was in the hifi industry for 25 years in my youth and can tell you it us easy to fall in search for perfection. Put these on and just enjoy your source material and spend your money on a nice steak or a trip to the beach.

My new favorite headphone!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the Sonos Ace headphones for a week now, and they have completely changed how I experience music. The sound quality is incredible, with every note, from the highest highs to the deepest bass, coming through clearly. The sound is balanced, though not overly punchy, which I appreciate for a more natural listening experience. The lossless streaming and spatial audio make it feel like I’m right in the middle of the music. The noise cancellation is fantastic, blocking out all the background noise so I can focus entirely on what I’m listening to. But if I need to hear what’s happening around me, the Aware mode is super handy. They’re also really comfortable, with soft memory foam cushions and an adjustable band that fits perfectly. The battery life is fantastic, lasting up to 30 hours, and a quick 3-minute charge gives me another 3 hours of use. Calls are crystal clear too, thanks to the beamforming microphones. The controls are easy to use, and I love that the audio pauses automatically when I take the headphones off. Switching between devices is a breeze, and the Sonos app lets me tweak the settings to my liking. My favorite feature is the TV swap mode with the Sonos Arc – it’s perfect for late-night TV watching without disturbing anyone. Whether I’m listening to music, taking calls, or watching movies, these headphones provide an amazing experience. Highly recommend!

A step in the right direction
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an opportunity to test these on a 11 hour flight, which is what this review is based on. Overall, these are a high quality build with premium materials. I love the magnetic detachable ear pads as a feature for easy replacement. The headphones are attractive, and the minimal branding is a big plus. Also, the price is a big obstacle given how many less expensive excellent competitors there are. Noise cancelling: this is where the Sonos is getting a 1 star ding. Compared to the Bose QC Ultra, I feel like the Bose have them beat. On the long flight, I was feeling a bit fatigued by the amount of plane and passenger noise that was making it's way through. I wear glasses, so it's always a factor that a bit of noise seeps in, but in this case, even when I took my glasses off, the Bose seem to do a better job of silencing plane noise. Sound quality: great sounding headphones, as you would expect from a Sonos product. I have no complaints. Comfort: I liked the shape and fit initially, but I felt a sense of relief when I removed them as the big cups started to feel a bit heavy and large compared to the Bose. I have a pretty average sized head (I think) and these definitely wouldn't bother me if I was wearing them for less time - maybe commuting on a train. For the longer flight, I wished they were lighter. Minor note: the power button is on the bottom of the left side. I found that I was inadvertently turning off the headphones with my thumb when I went to make fit adjustments. A small but notable design flaw. Final thoughts: in the end, I decided to return these in favor of sticking with my Bose QC Ultra. For the premium price, the noise cancelling on the Bose is better and less expensive. When Sonos comes with an Ace V2, it is going to be a big winner. They are going to get better at this, and these are definitely a step in the right direction, just not for me right now.

Great headphones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve owned Bose Quiet Comforts and I like these even more. Sale price is sweet spot though, full price to me is too much. The handoff wirh Sonos arc is really great and an added bonus. Very comfortable and stylish. My only gripe is volume when connected via jack on an airplane is too low.
