    Installed this into my home theater system for Christmas and all was well until today when I turned it on and the hdmi port to the television shorted out. I expect better from Sony. The Bravia television it is attached to is almost 10 yrs old. Unfortunately this home theatre receiver shorted out after 3 months.

    It seems this item had issues because it would work and then stop working I took it in since I also purchased the protection plan and they didn't find anything wrong. I used it once or twice after and it was fine will have to use t a few more times to see how it works out or if I need to take it in again.

    FM broke in 2 month

    I bought this receiver on Black Friday, it stopped receiving FM in 2 month, I brought this Sony receiver to Geek Squad in Flashing NY, and they couldn't fix it, so I must go to another location where I got refund and I bought this item for a regular price, so I don't have any Black Friday's benefits

    Called Sony was on the phone for two hours while they used the internet to control the system, Sony TV, Sony AV and Sony Blu ray HDR. After they said it was good, I watched a Ultra HDR Blu Ray video and the sound was VERY bad in fact I went to the rear speakers and there was no sound. Don't buy this.

    faulty product

    Installed the receiver and kept getting a "Protector" error message and the receiver would shut off a few seconds later, I followed the instructions and verified all the speaker connections and wiring and still had the same issue, ended up having to return it to the store

    I purchased this Sony receiver on the recommendation of one of the sales reps where I bought it and thought it would be a good product in light of Sony's reputation. Boy was I ever wrong. It has been NOTHING but a problem since I bought it. The first issue I ran into was sound problems with Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, which I found out too late were a known issue with no known fix with Sony products, so any streaming videos require switching back to the built-in TV speaker - ridiculous when you are trying to enjoy any type of major movie or intense drama with a lot of dialogue. It took a Geek Squad trip to get the blu-ray player to be recognized, and it required a major re-shuffle of connections to "trick" the system into allowing any components to play through my speaker system. They finally had to give up on connecting my X-Box, so it has been sitting idle for 2 years now because I can only use it if I disconnect everything and connect it directly into the TV - a major operation of wiring and logistics. And finally, with all its expense and built-in components, it won't pick up ONE radio station. My $30 Big Lots boom box has better reception. I would not give this system any stars if it would let me, I would definitely NOT recommend this product to anyone. I expected much better from Sony.

    Have to keep resetting

    Need to get it replaced because it stopped sending to other components and i have to keep resetting. I had geek squad come and they said they woukd notify the store i purchased it frim and they would contact me, but as of yet I have not heard from them

    Does the job for me. I don't have a full 7.2 system to use right now, but I like knowing I have the capability to add speakers without needing a new receiver.

    The HDMI switching stopped working already. It says you changed inputs but it wont change. Very disappointed in Sony as of late. I had a problem with a $4000 dollar TV just 2 months ago. Sony has gone way down in quality.
