Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the sound quality, ease of use, and Bluetooth capabilities of the 1015W 7.2-Ch. 4K Ultra HD and 3D Pass-Through A/V Home Theater Receiver. Many appreciate its 4K compatibility and the relatively easy setup process. However, some customers mentioned that the bass could be improved, and a few experienced issues with volume limitations and the display. Purchased it for the new house (moving next month), but if it is half as good as the other Sony products we have purchased, it deserves the 3 stars I gave it

I couldn't tell you if it actually works because we couldn't get it to even work. We ended up taking it back and bought the Denon - 1295W 7.2-Ch. 4K Ultra HD and 3D Pass-Through A/V Home Theater Receiver.

I thought this unit would eliminate the use of my IPOD for it's shuffle feature. I wanted to use an thumb drive for this shuffle option but this unit will not shuffle music on an thumb drive. Very disappointed.

Receiver is working as needed. The main thing I needed was for it to play all my devices and control volume for all my equipment. Works like a charm.

I have been a fan of Sony products for years. This is the second Sony receiver that has failed on me in two years. Seems to me that Sony quality has deteriorated in recent years. Very disappointed.

Hello DavidW! We apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced with the receiver and would like to recommend trying the steps available through the following link including resetting the unit back to factory default settings with these two different ways while the external devices are disconnected from the receiver: (First option) 1 - While pressing [2CH/MULTI] and [DIMMER] buttons simultaneously, press the [POWER] button to turn on the main power. 2. The message “CLEARING” appears and the memories are reset to the default values. 3. When done, the message “CLEARED *” appears, the set will power off. (Second option) 1 - While pressing [2CH/MULTI] and [DISPLAY] buttons, press the [POWER] button to turn on the main power. 2. The message “CLEARING” appears and the memories are reset to the default values. 3. When done, the message “CLEARED *” appears, the set will power on.  https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/40230 ~Jeannette sony_US

This receiver lasted for about a month and a week. As soon as the return period was up it stopped working. Now it turns on and off on its own and after extensive troubleshooting I'm stuck with a giant paperweight. Hopefully Sony honors the warranty.

    My 3 year review

I don't know why I bought this having had problems in the past with Sony products whose ratings are always boosted by their rabid fan boy base beyond the reality of what the product actually does. From the beginning this thing has been a pain in the rear. I had to look up online how to enable HDR for 4k as it is hidden in the menus in a completely illogical way. You have to enable it for each device that has HDR. In a year the remote's on off button stopped working and after that two more have bit the dust. Good luck setting things up with the buttons on the actual receiver as they are difficult to use at best. When it starts it doesn't always recognize which channel it is playing and you have to switch back and forth sometimes to get it to initialize. Sometimes it leaves the bottom 1/4 of the screen in a menu that doesn't time out and you have to switch devices to get that to reset so not having a working remote is really crap. Do yourself a favor and but something better.

This never worked correctly and in less than 3 months it does not work at all! Save your money for a better one. I am surprised as I expected much more from a Sony product.

    Worst Receiver I’ve ever had

It refuses to ‘remember’ any setting I use, it will randomly have the sound cut out, or just not work correctly at all when I start it up. I had a sony receiver a few years ago and it was fantastic. This, unfortunately, is a complete waste of money. Stay far away.

Hello Bestbuyer! If you are not getting a video signal through the HDMI ports we recommend trying the steps available through the following link since they should be sending a video and audio signal as well coming from your connected external devices into the television: https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/42413. If the issue persists, try resetting the receiver back to factory default settings by 1. Hold the POWER button for 5 seconds. 2. The message “CLEARING” appears on the display. 3. After few seconds, “CLEARED *” appears.~Jeannette sony_US
