Easy set up, great sound with easy interface. Needs power outlets in the back.

I bought this unit on sale as I wanted a 7.2 surround sound receiver. After hooking up the 10 speakers, it sounded fantastic. The only problem is that it would have been nice to have Bluetooth and optical out (for a Visio soundbar and a Bluetooth sub-woofer). For I paid, it gets 5 stars, but at full price, 4-1/2 stars without the outputs. I can't give it 4-1/2 stars.

The reciver does a great job of powering everything! Very clean sound spread & does a 2 speaker surround sound sound which sounds pretty good. Assuming you have good quality speakers. The 4k HDR pass through is awsome! Some of the features & setting take some getting used too but the manual is there as well. Havent used the 7.1 on it just have for 5.1 & its still really good!

Nothing to wow you with this entry levelish receiver but It does the job well enough. You can do worse for about the same amount of money.

I had originally chosen a Sony because it was less money. But it was too deep to fit in the furniture where I wanted it. I went to the Best Buy website and looked at all the dimensions and the Yamaha worked. Now, I would have chosen the Yamaha initially except for the aforementioned price difference. That difference brings several very cool features but I didn't 'need' them. But, overall, I'm happy with it. And I'm able to continue my Yamaha tradition going back to when they sold head units for cars. That played cassettes.

Bought system on sale and "open box". Saved $100. Relatively easy setup (once attached to TV monitor). Purchased as receiver/amplifier for music rather than as entertainment system. Love Bluetooth and USB play capability (so I no longer need CD player). Will do additional "fiddling" to see if system offers greater control over sound amplifier settings.

Easy to set up, integrated well with all other equipment, simple to use

I haven't set this up for true home theater use yet, but for what I'm concerned with, which is simply surround stereo, it is a solid receiver for the speakers I've got. The Bluetooth feature is a real plus as I mostly play music via iTunes with the files on a wireless 2 TB drive. I plan to reconfigure my system as I add components and this equipment is right for my needs.

This is a great receiver that provides clear sound and plenty of power.
