So, the Sony 43'' X830C Ultra HD 4K TV is the first tv I have bought for myself in about 2 years, My last was a 42'' Toshiba Regza from 2007, and so far it has met my expectations in terms of picture quality. Functionality wise, Sony does need to work out some kinks, but right now there's nothing to fret about. Tip: for those who hate that "soap opera" effect on the motion of TV's, you can turn that off, for sony's its the "MotionFlow" setting Also, if get a Ultra HD 4K TV home and find some of your cable channels don't look clear like in a store, that's because your not watching 4K content, each channel has its own resolution being broadcasted, so if your watching a 720p channel, it will only be upscaled by the tv to look better than what it would on a 1080p tv. Also depends on who filmed that channel and how well they filmed it. Pros: -Great vibrant colors -Great Screen Brightness -Remote is easy to use -Slim on screen edge and pretty slim depth on tv and stand. -Light bar(sensor) can be turned off for those who find it annoying, I don't. -4HDMI, 1 composite/component, 2 usb, optical, etc, all the ports you would ever need -Android Interface is pretty responsive after updating the tv out of the box. -Clear and upscaled Resolution when playing video games or watching blue ray movies, haven't tried 4k Netflix yet(remember, it is recommended to have a least 25mb/sec for internet speed to run 4k Netflix). Cons: -Black levels are not the best, but this is to be expected from this beginner level tv, its Edge lit not Full Array after all, or OLED for that matter, also there is a black level setting to make some areas of the content your using to look darker. -Android Interface Is responsive, but a pain to navigate compared to Sony's interface from the X800B and higher models from 2014. -Starting up the tv is seconds slower compared to most other sony TV's in the past, but hardly a problem, as long is the tv turns on at all. -Would have been nice to have 3D capability for the price, but still, nothing to get upset about. Overall though, great tv for the buck, wish I could have gotten my hands on a X850B but that's ok. 4 outta 5!

This is the first Sony TV that I have purchased in several years because the Sony TV's were higher priced then comparable models from other manufacturers. I am very satisfied with the picture quality and the features that this TV has. The price was definitely a factor in my purchase.

Great tv in terms of features and best of all picture quality. Google still has some work to do with Android TV but it's better than what Sony used to have and creates upgrade infrastructure, so I hope they do more. Picture quality is superb, they did a heck of a job on up scaling. Only feature missing is 3D, but not a biggie for this screen size

The XBR is a perfect size for my wall mount cabinet. Easy to set-up and depending on what I am watching the people look like they are right there in the room with me. It replaced an 8-year-old Sony Bravia, which retired to the bedroom and is still a great TV--thanks Sony!!!

Purchased this to replace a broken bedroom tv. The picture quality is outstanding and required very little tweaking out of the box. I use it primarily for watching cable tv from a dvr so I haven't explored any of the smart tv features. Very happy with this purchase.

Nice TV with great picture. Right size for my living/dining room. Only drawback is remote, which I had read from other reviews. It seems you often have to press more than once to get what you want, especially central area of the device, where "buttons" are too small. Am enjoying it otherwise.

I bought this tv as a second Sony 4K purchase. It's a great tv for the bedroom or living room if you don't need a monster. Super clear. Great color. To be expected from a Sony. I'm using it as a Netflix tv. Love it.

The color and clarity on this TV is really wonderful and the sound is better than average. I bought a Samsung TV (40") that had good reviews and sold for a little less on sale. There is no comparison between the TVs. The Sony is far superior

I am a die hard SONY TV fan. I have installed many TV's over the years for my business and have had the opportunity to play with just about every TV and I can't get enough of the SONY's. This TV continues my support for SONY. I purchased this TV for my garage to replace my older SONY. The picture and features can't be beat. I calibrate TV's as well. Out of the box they are pretty decent but the calibration really made it pop as they do with all TV's, well most of the name brand TV's. I can't tell you much about the remote since I use Harmony remotes but it looks decent and true to SONY style. I buy nothing else SONY just the TV's and I don't think it will ever end.

This TV has nice color and picture. The Android interface is a bit confusing, but has some nice apps like NetFlix. There doesn't seem to be a way to remove unused apps from main screen. Remote is a bit slow, especially on and off. Overall good TV though.

Hi mcbinder, Thank you for posting your review. There is no option to hide apps on the home screen. Regarding your concern about the remote control, Android TVs may take 20 seconds or more to boot up when using the remote control because of several factors that may need processing or recognition such as the internal software, signal or network conditions and external devices connected to the TV. This is normal operation. - Jerome Sonystyle

I love this tv, I do not care for the fact that it easily switches over to the smart mode forcing me to switch back to the sony remote instead of the cable remote. The picture is great and the sound is sufficient for the use in my bed room.

Sony's 4K UHD TV is amazing. The picture quality is incredible, especially when considering the price of this model. Setting up will take time. As a former TV cameraman and director I have been around tech gear nearly my entire life. I am also a child of the 60's. This is an android TV and 21st century technology and knowledge are required. Silly me I thought this would be simply plugging in power and away you go. Since I do have my TV hooked up to my Marantz A / V receiver it took the better part of an entire day to get the sound and picture dialed in properly. Once the job was done though the TV picture couldn't be better. If you're not the audio/video tech type you might want to consider having BestBuy set your system up for you.

I thought I would never buy a Sony product ever again due to a bad experience 10 years ago. But base on reviews price and size it seem to be the best choice. I have to say it actually lived up to reviews. This been said if LG had a curve 1200 I would have bought LG.

I was a little hesitant to spend the extra money for the Sony brand but it was worth it. Easy set-up, Clear picture and apps work great. This TV shines with upgrading content where others faltered. Since not a lot of 4k content is readily avilable now, the ability to upgrade now is very important. This TV has no ghost effect, which was prevalent with some other brands. Sony has the best technology with 4k, even though other brands have some nice features. Can't go wrong with this model but you will pay a decent amount for it.

Set-up, attachment, mounting, were all easy. The picture is crisp, saturated colors, many options for customizing it to your own taste. I don't know what more could be asked of such a product. Size was perfect for our needs.

Picture is as expected from a 4K TV, but above that, it is brighter and easier to see than our larger home theater TV. The "smart tv" apps are nice, but the HBO app doesn't work with our Comcast account. (Apple TV to the rescue).
