Love the instant connection once i get in my car and thats its anti glare. Only 2 cons with this radio is the slight lag when changing songs and the incompatability with my steering wheel control. Aside from that, i love it!

Seems to be the only option I could find for Wireless Android Auto with physical volume buttons within its price range. Works better than expected. Only few draw backs are the screen is not capacitive touch (still very responsive though) and it's not an AMOLED screen therefore the brightness may be an issue for some installation layouts with the sun washing the screen visibility. The plus side to this though is there are no fingerprints or smudges on screen at all. Overall, for my installation, very pleased with product.

[Employee of bestbuy] I love this head unit. It is extremely responsive, sounds amazing, and the wireless CarPlay connects extremely fast. There is only a slight delay in the music compared to the phone.

Honestly would rate closer to 3.75. That being said, it works as expected mostly. Connects to the backup camera, image is good, (even with the crap camera I needed up with (not included I just popped and got cheap camera) the only issue there is the camera doesn’t turn on automatically, you have to back outta CarPlay and select the rear camera. Wireless CarPlay is a great, (was the selling feature for me) my main issues are: the time!!! I have to set it ever few weeks after say 2 weeks it shows 5 minutes slower than the time actually is.all updates have to be all done physically, so after install if you didn’t add a usb plug Extension you have to take it apart to get to where you can plug a usb to update. Very frustrating. Cool thing though is you can add manages (with the usb plug in) to create a custom Home Screen display. Lastly I have only had this for 6 months, but I have had it freeze up and be unuseable a couple times (mostly when hot?) but I can’t turn volume up/down play anything through CarPlay, get any response from the buttons. I have to either wait till it’s done “thinking” or shut the vehicle off and make sure the power is off to the car wait a couple minute and start over. If you looking for a budget radio with a backup output, wireless CarPlay (android play) that works with your factory car controls this isn’t a horrible option. But honestly if you can afford a little more it’s worth spending more for something better.

Best Car Stereo Android Auto unit I've owned. Pro's very fast and reliable, and most of all quality Audio.. Cons Screen brightness, and to be picky i do not like that i can change navigation voice with the same buttons as Volume, it does make it easy but also a pain, needs another step to keep separate so im not constantly changing on accident. I'm a Delivery driver so i use this all day, everyday just about. Bluetooth reaches about 30-60ft before losing connection to phone, but comes right back pretty quickly. So I've been really happy with this unit, Honestly great buy for what it does despite maybe being a little outdated. But for the money and what's available for a great reliable double din unit, def a good choice.

I bought this Sony XAV sound system to replace the original radio in my Corvette, and I've got to admit it provides a sweet set of features. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both wireless via bluetooth so you don't have to plug in your phone driving down the road. SiriusXM is another sweet feature or of course you can download the SiriusXM app on your phone and play it through CarPlay or Auto. What I really love is changing the background to a custom background. Connect a USB-C thumb drive with a photo you want as a background and it will pop up on the wallpaper options. My custom wallpaper is the Corvette emblem. Overall I'm really impressed!

Excellent product for the price. The glare on the screen is my only recommendation for improvement. I read previous reviews about the glare, but I did not think the glare would be so bad. Sony states that the unit has an anti-glare screen. If this is the case, the product doesn't work. I would still purchase the radio, because it out preforms the original VW radio. Apple car play is a huge benefit.

Very good radio. Love how it connects wirelessly to Apple CarPlay. Never have to take the iPhone out of my pocket. Siri works great with Apple Music and Apple Maps. . Only issue is if the sun hits the screen, becomes difficult to see. All considered, I am happy with my purchase.

Our 2008 Toyota 4Runner was due for a technology upgrade. This Sony radio has fit the bill for us, Wireless Carplay has been a game changer! No more needing to use a cable to plug into our iPhones, to get Waze on the display screen. Now, all we need to do is start up the car and the iPhone automatically sync to the radio. The radio has been super easy to use, we are happy with our tech upgrade!

Works flawlessly 95% of times. Occasional issues with wireless carplay connectivity but can always fixed by a reboot. Audio output is awesome. The brightness can be an issue if it's sunny and bright but that's what you get for a matte screen - you lose brightness for avoiding finger print smudges.

Purchased this head unit and had installed on a Saturday morning. Played fine for the 45 minute drive home. After arriving at the house and setting eq, pairing with phone, all seemed well. First problem with this unit is microphone does not perform well at all. people on receiving end of calls could barely hear me. Was better off just using my in ear bluetooth headset for calls. Unit played for about an hour and lost all sound and screen froze up. Even after turning off and back on, still frozen screen and not sound at all. I immediately went back to Best Buy to try to catch installer before the end of shift. Went over a speed bump in parking lot and screen flashed a couple times and started working again, but still no sound, eq went back to flat and lost all presets. I shut truck off to try to talk to installer, but they were already gone for the day. Truck was shut off for about 15 minutes, When I restarted truck unit had full functionality, although I had to reset all user customizations. I had to run the unit till the next Saturday before I could return it because I was gone for the next week (I drive a truck for a living). I returned it for credit due to unsatisfactory performance. Things I noticed for the couple days I had it and it was working that were unsatisfactory. were as follows: bluetooth microphone is practically useless in a crew cab pickup, maybe better in a smaller cab vehicle. There are a couple sensitivity settings for the microphone, but didn't help in my case. The android auto, (can't address Apple Car Play, as I do android), seemed to work as advertised, however the unit auto connected when powered up and no provision to disable the auto connect. Even when going to phone's settings and turning off wifi , the unit automatically turned it back on and auto connected again. The couple days I did use the unit, sound quality for the radio, and SiriusXm, were a great improvement over the stock head unit, but to me, the immediated defect and unsatisfactory microphone, lack of auto connect and activation of Android Auto made this unit unnacceptable to me for the price paid.

Its great radio , I had pioneer it was ok for first 2 years then it randomly shut off , my carplay would disconnect , steering volume didn't always work . With this sony no such issue and also sound is better quality . No more cable needed for carplay . I highly recommend it .

I had recently purchased a Kenwood and was not pleased with the radio. Wow Kenwood is still a great brand, that particular radio was just cumbersome to deal with. Having had a Sony before and seeing what this had to offer, I figured this would be the best option. After getting it installed and checking it out, I was correct, this was the right choice. My only request would be if the audio options were set up like old radios, bass and treble. For all I know that option is available in the radio, but I can't locate it. It seems everything has to be adjusted based on preset options or within the crossover. After reviewing a video I was able to get the sound the way I like it.

I’m impressed with how this sounds in my Jeep over the previous KENWOOD excellon. It also has physical buttons which is a bonus if you drive a Jeep. The touch buttons on the last were tiny which made it very hard to touch while driving. This one solved that problem.

It's a little pricey but it's been rock solid, sounds good, CarPlay works great and has connected every time with no disconnects yet...

Great stereo and awesome features. 2017 Crosstrek. The Meastro is the main reason I purchased this. The see all the gauges and warnings for the engine. Only issue I’ve had is when it was installed the climate control does not appear. It’s at BB right now trying to get that resolved

Installed in a 2018 jk wrangler and it’s a great way to upgrade and modernize the sound system. Apple CarPlay with navigation is fantastic. Best Buy did a great install.
