Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Alpha a6000's camera quality, ease of use, and compact size, frequently praising its lightweight design. Many also appreciate the camera's features and find it offers good value for the price. However, some users note that the battery life could be improved, and low-light performance and autofocus could be more reliable. The telephoto lens's autofocus functionality has also received some criticism.

We bought this camera to take on a journey around Europe. As professional photographers by trade, we did a lot of research. We didn't want to take our pro-cameras on this trip, and really wanted something that would provide us with excellent image capabilities but had the ability to fit snugly into a small backpack. This camera came with a zoom and we used mostly the kit lens during our trip. The image quality is excellent and there's many helpful settings on the camera making it a good choice for pros or novices.

Pros: -Easy to use -Very light (even with different lenses) -Fantastic features -Mobile App works great Cons: -Pricey -Lenses aren't cheap either -Advanced features take a bit of studying (not truly a Con) Have had this camera for about a month now and not one bit disappointed. The camera is amazing, taking excellent pictures and functioning very well. Although it takes some time to get used to the advanced features, the basic point and shoot functionality is a no brainer. The WiFi transfer to your mobile device is an absolutely amazing feature and the mobile app works fantastic (and no adapter needed). The price isn't cheap, but totally worth it.

Absolutely love this camera! I bought it as a smaller alternative to my Nikon D90 for travel. I expected it to be "good enough" for family vacations, but I'm honestly contemplating just getting rid of the Nikon now. This camera is amazing! Great speed, photo quality is fantastic, and the size is perfect. Two drawbacks that some may have issue with (but they didn't affect me) - fewer lens options available than what you would find for a typical DSLR, and the sensor is fully exposed when switching lenses (no mirror), so make sure you have something to clean the inevitable dust off.

The fact that it comes with two lenses is awesome. It’s a good starting package. The camera is easy to use when it comes to settings and learning the hardware. I love how quick it shoots photos. There’s no delay. And the screen pops out for those overhead shots. Love it.

I needed a camera for my daughter's graduation to capture the beautiful memories from afar. This camera and lens gave me the ability to capture the shots I wanted from the bleachers. The pictures came out clear and the colors were vibrant. The camera itself is very user friendly. Everything you see on the camera is easy to understand. The price was excellent! The camera and add'l lens were very affordable. I will be using this camera at a wedding this weekend and I can't wait. The sales person was very helpful in helping me make my decision. Thank you Best Buy for a great purchase!

The best camera is going to be the one that you take with you. I was upgrading from an older Canon (which I still love shooting with) and decided that the major thing that I didn't like about the Canon was how large and bulky it is. The Sony is much smaller, might lighter, much easier to carry around --- even with the telephoto. The only cons I've seen so far is: the software is a bit old, so uploading via wifi took a bit of time to figure out; the kit lens is a bit awkward to use if you're used to manual focus on your lenses. The telephoto is fine, works just like all of my other lenses.

Always been a Nikon DSLR owner, decided to get a mirrorless. Love the size and takes great pictures. Just have to get used to where all the set ups are. Wish the manual was a little larger including the size of the print. Was able to find one online.

Sony's a6000 Mirrorless Camera Will Wow You!

Just purchased Sony's a6000 Mirrorless camera. I love photography and particularly shooting nature scenes, but to be honest: lugging around my Canon 5D Mark IV with heavy lenses is oftentimes a chore, so I decided to get a small secondary camera and zeroed-in on the Sony because of my experience with Sony camcorders and in particular the quality of Sony products and especially the new mirrorless technology. I not going to give you a technical evaluation or critique, but talk about the few photos I've taken. I have been extremely impressed with the quality, sharpness, and color of my photos. The camera came with a couple of good starter lenses. I also purchased a 18-105 lenses, extra batteries, and a dual charger, and an LCD screen protector. Do I want to replace my Canon Mark IV? No. But, it sure is great to go for a nature walk and carry the Sony a6000 in hopes of grabbing a few photos here and there. I take it with me in my car - because living here in Rhode Island there are many opportunities for some beautiful shots. If you're good with photography software, photo editing programs like Photoshop Elements will give you the ability to do some amazing things to enhance and bring out the quality of your photos. You might check out also Luminar, Movavi Photo Editor, or Adobe Lightroom. BEST BUY'S credit card gives me a certain amount of time to pay for the camera without any interest. Great Deal! Love the camera.

I bought this camera as a Christmas gift for myself and my college-age daughter to share. I have been watching this camera for almost a year and the price for the bundle was unbeatable. So far, we are loving it! It was easy to set up and get started. We have not used the extended lens yet but I am confident that it will take even more amazing photos. Note: Buy a memory card when you purchase the camera as it does not come with one. Also, the battery needs to be charged (6 hours) before use.

I purchased my new camera a few days before leaving on vacation; I did my initial charge up using the plug and usb cable that came in the box, but since I already had several micro-usb cables packed for the trip, I did not take the new one. Big mistake! For some reason, this camera will only work with Sony-made products. Once I discovered this, I stopped at a Best Buy but they didn't have the Sony battery charger in stock; I tried an aftermarket battery and a universal-type charger. The non-Sony battery wouldn't even turn the camera on, and the universal charger just discharged by one battery further. I finally got my hands on a genuine Sony charger and extra battery and have had no issues since. This camera takes beautiful photos and is super easy to use; the pictures are always in perfect focus.

This camera does it all, is 5 years ahead of its time with technology, is sturdy, light, ridiculously fast (I have a tremor in my hands so that is so necessary), stabilization, in camera wi-fi and so many neat photo-filters and in-camera-editing abilities. This camera is very intelligent and makes learning photography super easy for the beginner while complimenting the skills of a skilled professional. Definitely highly recommend this camera and lens kit.

This is a fantastic camera. It has wonderful image quality and is relatively easy to use. If you have been using a DSLR or a point and shoot for a while, there’s going to be a bit of a learning curve. This camera series is a combination of both. There’s less dials than a DSLR, but with some customization of buttons, will work just as smoothly.

This is my first mirrorless camera. I researched a lot before buying this product. I am still learning. I would recommend this one if one is looking for light camera that comes with SLR options.
