Good hardware, but limited library of games
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When comparing the three major gaming headsets (Playstation VR, Vive, Oculus) on the market, the PSVR is definitely the most affordable. Not only is the headset itself less expensive than the others, the hardware needed to utilize it is cheaper as well, as you'll be spending a lot more money on a PC powerful enough to run the Vive or Oculus than you would getting a PS4 to use the PSVR. The big question mark is software. The library of PSVR games is somewhat limited, despite being out for some time. There aren't a ton of games out for the Oculus and Vive either, but the sky is the limit with them with independent PC programmers and modders able to put out VR content. It's still not clear it VR is the future or a fad, but if you're interested in getting your feet wet in the world of virtual reality, the PSVR is not a bad place to get started.

It's worth it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Jumping into virtual reality has been something I always wanted to do since Nintendo's attempt with the virtual boy. Back then it was hard to believe it can even be done in a normal gaming console, and if it was possible it would've been too expensive to even have. Well, I'm glad to tell you that PlayStation has made it a reality! A virtual one too! At a great accessible price. The PlayStation VR system feels great, and the immersion level is excellent, ( try the Kitchen demo first!! ) after a few minutes you'll forget about the small downs of the system ( average resolution, and field of view) the immersion is there that's all that matters in my opinion. Please try it by yourself don't let others tell you what to think about it. Can't recommend it enough!

Great and affordable VR experience.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.$400 may seem like a lot of money for a peripheral device, but considering the current prices of VR it's actually one the most affordable and simplest VR experience on the market. VR devices for the PC or mobile phones can run near $1,000, and in my opinion don't look or feel nearly as good as the PSVR. The VR experience is extremely immersive and rewarding. It's important to note that the PSVR device goes beyond VR games, it can play / connect to any device that uses an HDMI cable. This means you could connect it to your computer, or even an an Xbox system! Games or videos that aren't optimized for VR will basically appear like you are in a movie theater. When watching / playing games non-VR games on the PS4 you have 3 viewing options: Small: A smaller screen, that stays centered no matter what direction you look in. Medium: A screen that appears like a movie theater, all 4 corners are visible, and when you turn your head the screen stays in place. Large: Same as medium, except the display is so large you can't see all 4 corners.

Worth it but
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you get motion sickness easily don’t get it. I can now understand how people tend to fall over while using this. It truly makes you feel like you are in the game. Great product

Fun for all ages
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It takes awhile to set up but all the wires are labelled with a number so you know what connects together even if you dont look at the manual/instructions. The head placement and fit is great and if you feel it looks blurry, either the lense is dirty or you need to adjust the placement of the VR. there is a decent amount of free demo games in the PS Store that will help before you buy them. The VR did get me a little dizzy at first because it does work very well and my eyes took a little while to get used to the virtual reality. It is also great with other apps such as Youtube. If you do not own a PS camera then it will not work. Check which PS VR you are buying before you check out because you might go home or give it as a gift that will not function because its missing key components.

Better entry-level VR than Gear VR
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second VR experience. The Gear VR overheated my Galaxy S6 too quickly and the SDE (screen door effect) was really bad. So when BB put the Sony PS4 VR headset on sale I used $100 of my rewards points to good use. This headset is a step up from the Gear VR; the resolution is better and SDE is less (not great but bearable). Jaggies are an issue though. My first game was Star Trek Bridge Crew. Very Cool VR game. Lots to do, exciting and you can play with just the controller (you'll need the camera though), you can wait to get the wands. Headset is fairly comfortable and responsive to your position, but like all VR headsets, you have cords running everywhere. All in all, if you get a good deal these and can't afford a Vive or the Odyssey then this is a reasonable alternative.

Must have accessory for PS4
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Adds a whole new dimension to games at a reasonable price. The headset is fairly easy to setup and comfortable to wear. Doing the eye distance calibration is a MUST (not sure why it doesn't ask for this during initial setup). The initial lineup of games are great and I especially like the "co-op" games that include players not wearing the headset like Playroom VR and Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes.

Exciting and different but there are cons
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the VR for about a week now and so far it's been fun. The following review is coming from someone who has had the VR experience before with Galaxy's Gear VR. I have to admit the immediate sensation I had with the Gear was that of being impressed with the immersion factor. That being said, playing the Playstation VR first didn't give me that WOW factor of being immersed in a virtual world because I already knew what I was expecting. I also was a bit let down because I was expecting more clarity since the headset contains a screen cable of outputting 1080P but then I realized that clarity is degraded because you are sharing a screen per eye ( i hope that makes sense ). In other words, my research into VR pretty much shows that all VR headsets are going to have this blurry factor. It doesn't deter from the fun factor whatsoever, but as others have said those being used to a high def pic will be a bit rattled by the lack of clarity here. I've had the chance to play an assortment of games including Rush of Blood, Job Simulator, Robinson: The Journey, Rigs and Batman. The games are what makes it worlds different from the Gear VR. They are comfortable to play for the most part with the exception of Robinson as I did get a bit queasy after awhile. My eyes did adjust after a few playthroughs to the point where I no longer get dizzy and the graphics are becoming clearer. It's strange that my eyes had to actually build a tolerance for the VR but it may be different for others. Long story short, the games are fun to play even with this factors considered. They are different and exciting. Pros: - The games are fun and immersive! - With the proper set up and a lot of patience calibrating, the games function well for the most part. - Comfortable to wear Cons: - Lenses steam up fast. The set comes with a cloth so you'll be using that A LOT. - Clarity is not as good as I was expecting. - A tolerance build up was needed for me for getting over the motion sickness factor but may defer among players. - Ps4, camera, move controllers are a lot of items to buy if you don't already have them.

Unreal
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really did not expect the PSVR to be this lifelike so I was taken back when I saw just how great the graphics and VR functionality was. I definitely did have some struggles with it because I was getting a lot of motion sickness but as time went on I got more adjusted to it and have been able to stretch out my periods of play. Game choices have been limited but it appears that they are slowly expanding with a huge lineup coming out soon so I'm looking forward to that.

Even being at lower budget it great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PlayStation VR comes in as the most budget friendly VR headset excluding mobile. That said so far this is a great unit. It does VR very well sometimes tricking you into being somewhere else but it does have a few issues one being the cords attached to it, they are long and there are many. Also adjusting your view to get Clear Vision can be a little difficult for newcomers but as with any technology have to get used to it. I recommend that you would buy this at a lower price point just because the games available are not yet wide enough. But if you simply must have it it is great to have and show off to friends

Really fun & so realistic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is probably the best VR game console out there. Everything seems so realistic and it's like you're in the game. Me and my boyfriend love playing it but you may experience some dizziness/motion sickness but you get used to it. The only negative thing about it is that there are so many wires used to connect the whole thing so it takes up a bit of room. Hopefully sony comes up with a wireless VR.

Amazing. VR for the masses
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After going to the 2016 PlayStation Experience convention in Anaheim and trying on the PS VR, I was sold. That Saturday night I was waiting for my GF to pick me up at the convention center when I had already pressed the order, without a doubt. I bought the accessories second hand but I knew this was going to be a hot item once people got word of mouth. Vr is not something an individual can just experience by watching 2d videos; the immersion is indescribable. The technology is somewhat limited by the specs but it is definitely a experience worth the entry price. I played the Batman Vr demo, RIGS : mechanized combat league, and VR:Worlds London Heist and they were all unique experiences. One thing to note is that some games do indeed cause motion sickness and some have said you need to develop "VR legs" after repeated usage. (Ginger chews are supposed to help!) Anyway, I hope this review helps you decide whether the VR is right for you.

Better than the Oculus Rift
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know, I know, that is a pretty controversial position, but its my opinion. In summary, because the Playstation VR has an impressive line up of games, and is more comfortable than the Rift, I prefer it. I previously had an Oculus Rift for my gaming PC and enjoyed it very much. The problem I had is that no matter what, I could not get it to fit comfortably on my head. So, I eventually sold it and went back to my triple screens for gaming on my PC. I bought a Playstation 4 Pro and noticed the impressive line up of games that were releasing for the Playstation VR. In particular, I was interested in Resident Evil 7 and so I took the plunge. After several months of use, here are the Pros and Cons for the Playstation VR. Pros: -Comfort - It fits on my head just fine, with no discomfort. -Glasses are no problem - With my Rift, I could not wear my glasses. With the Playstation VR, glasses, no matter how big, can be worn. -Image quality - Yes, its first generation but Eve Valkyrie, for example, looks just as good on Playstation VR as it does on Oculus Rift. -Game selection - There is an impressive library of games. My favorites include Resident Evil 7 (best VR game out there, hands down), Eve Valkyrie, Batman, Star Wars Battlefront VR Mission, Driveclub VR, Dirt Rally VR and Robinson the Journey. -Ease of set up - Much easier than the Rift, with one exception - the Playstation Camera (see below). -No powerful PC required, works with PS4 and PS4 Pro. -Flexibility - you not only can play VR games with it, but you also can use the big screen mode to play non-VR games and watch YouTube and Netflix videos. Its my private way to watch Breaking Bad without my kids hearing or seeing what I am watching. -Price - $400, plus $60 for the Playstation Camera is reasonable, although you can now get a Rift for $500, and a computer that can run it for as little as $680, if not lower. This computer, for example, would work well with the Rift - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberpowerpc-gamer-ultra-desktop-amd-fx-black-edition-series-8gb-memory-amd-radeon-rx-480-1tb-hard-drive-black/5615010.p?skuId=5615010 Cons: -Cables - The cables are bulky and heavy. -No built in headset - The ear buds that come with it are not loud enough. The Rift's built in headphones are much better, and produce much better sound than the ear buds that come with the Playstation VR. -Set Up with Playstation Camera - The Playstation Camera is very finicky. It must be centered in front of you, whereas the Rift's sensor works from an angle no problem. Also, the Playstation Camera cannot be placed too close to you.

Welcome to VR
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What I like: Price point enabled me to get into VR. I already had the camera and the move controllers and of course the PS4. The controllers were more responsive than I imagined considering it was older technology. I let my teenagers play and their first reaction was, "wow". With the new update I was able to view 3D movies and I felt that the 3D was more pronounced with the PlayStation VR than with my TV and glasses. What I didn't like: Low supply. It took a while to find them but I here Sony is making another run. I've gotten to know a BB sales associate as we are into gaming and it got old asking if they had any in stock. One day while in the store for a different purchase I ran into him and asked. He took off, practically ran asking me to follow. Another thing is games. There are really good games (Resident Evil) but I'm still waiting to see the next wave and leap in 3D gaming. Compare it to the first Wii games where it took a little time before they got a lot better. Overall: I still think we are in the infancy stage but Sony has given The VR world a pretty good product that feels comfortable ( I was sweating around my forehead and eyes with heat generated when I trialed the Occulus) and immersive.

New to VR
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.New to VR, don't want to fork over 800 on a pc version of it. The PlayStation VR is a grate middle option. The games are really amazing even better with the PS4 pro. Only drawbacks are all the wires everywhere. I also don't recommend buying the move controllers

Great buy!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Playstation VR is extremely good in terms of what I expected. I bought this knowing that it wouln't be as high-end as the Oculus Rift or the HTC Vive. And I was correct; relatively comparing, it is not as good in terms of the graphics or the tracking. All I wanted was a system that was capable of providing me with a decent vr experience. And it does exactly that and more. Also, another reason why I invested in this product instead of others is due to limitations on my pc. I do not own a powerful enough gaming pc to operate the Rift or the Vive. So unless you have one, then playstation is a good alternative option. Moreover, you save a couple of bucks with the Playstation VR in comparison to some of the other ones if you already own a PS4. Overall, I think that the Playstation VR is an excellent VR system for beginning users and it is a marvelous experience.

Awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to say the whole VR experience in games is really compelling and I'm anxious to see how this technology evolves. This headset really delivers 3D in a very immersive way. Granted, I'd like to see higher resolution and a little more clarity, VR is just getting off the ground but this headset really brings a fantastic and very new experience. Now, some people can be a little more sensitive to VR so you might need to go slow at first until your brain figures out what's happening but the whole experience is something you'll want to see for yourself. I really think we're at the start of a whole new revolution in games - more immersive, more real than ever before. That's a good thing so long as you can tear yourself away from the fun... right?!
