Dig out that old vinyl collection! Whether you want to hear an LP (33⅓) or a 45, this will play it. Plus, you don't have to have those little yellow inserts to play your 45's either. Since this turntable comes with a little tower to make the spindle larger. Oh, you can still use the inserts if you choose, but you no longer have to.

Considering how the market has swayed us from vinyl, to CD, and now MP3, I was happy to find a turntable of this quality for such a nice price. Mind you, if I have to find something negative about the unit it is that it is 'belt driven' opposed to 'direct drive'. But the price denotes that and as infrequent as I will be using it, it should last me many, many years.

Phonograph is great - Conversion Software Terrible

However, the software that converts vinyl to digital was easy to load. However, the plus quickly turned negative. The software is not user friendly, does an extremely poor job to identify tracks/breaks between songs, requires a lot of manual intervention to separate tracks. After working with the software for 30 days I have never been able to get a complete track for a single song. I bought the turntable to specifically transfer vinyl to digital. If I knew it was going to be so much work and time intensive I would not have bought the product. I should have returned the product to BEST BUY. Since it was a Sony product I thought it would be good. I was wrong!

This was an in-store purchase; so, I had the chance to see it before buying. It was a present for our son who wanted great performance, easy connections and versatility for recording records to his laptop. This product exceeded his expectations!
