Customers highly value the QUAD OTA DVR's ease of use, excellent picture quality, and reliable recording capabilities. Many appreciate the commercial skip feature and the ability to record multiple channels simultaneously. However, some users experienced connectivity problems and occasional buffering issues. A few also noted that the device can get quite warm during operation.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for an ota dvr. You need to provide the hdd or ssd but this is very easy to set up and use. I tried the Sling ota first but this blows it out of the water by a long shot.

Works well, but pricey. Not only do you have to spend $200 for the thing, but you have to buy your own internal hard drive too? Yes , you do. On top of that the directions are skimpy, and you have to go through a trial-and-error set-up. I just called there support. Once you get through to them (actually pretty quick on the phone), it was a breeze. I could not get it to work on my own. Even after it worked, there were things I had to stumble on that no one bothered to share. Happy with it now.

This is a great solution to recording over the air broadcasts. The interface of the software is simple and easy to use. The recordings and live TV don’t show any noticeable delay. This is a much better solution than Amazon’s recording solution.

I love our Tablo Quad, We canceled our cable and are saving a lot of money. The picture and sound are excellant. I will, however, upgrade my antenna at some point but now I can actually recored my OTA channels and I think it's great !

Works well and cheaper than Tivo

I like this unit better than I thought I would. I bought this because Youtube TV raised their prices and I figured I could get nearly everything there via other cheaper streaming services (basic Hulu is great, BTW) and an OTA DVR like this. I went with Tablo because the monthly guide subscription is so much cheaper than Tivo's. I paired it with a $25 indoor antenna near a window and it works really well. But I'm lucky that I'm only about 4 miles from a cluster of TV transmission towers, and my window looks right at them. I had a 750GB hard drive from an old laptop sitting around and popped it in. Very easy to install and get it set up. It has no remote. You access it from a smartphone app, Roku and/or Google TV (Android TV) app and other streaming dongles/boxes. It looks to me like the Roku app is the best of the lot, and the Android/Google TV app is behind on the features (no search function that I can find). The reason I took one star off is because the client apps are a bit clunky and could really use some updating to make them less made-in-a-basement looking. Also it seems you do need a good strong antenna signal, or the interface gets flaky and the error messages are not helpful. It was locking up and skipping lots of recordings until I moved the antenna right in front of the window. But since then it has been very stable and the recordings look great. Depending on where you are you may need an outside strong antenna. So consider that before purchasing.

    Good enough to ditch cable

Overall this with an antenna is just as good if not better than cable for basic channels. Can save a lot of monthly money for sure. There are a few issues though. First the included (short) Ethernet cable was defective and ruined numerous recordings until I figured out it was defective. More importantly the software leaves a lot to be desired. Bugs like displaying the wrong time for several weeks until a patch was available for daylight savings time was annoying. Also before watching the first option is delete the recording. Oddly after watching it if you push forward it restarts and if you exit the program after finish watching, again the first option is to restart. A lot of excess clicking. Overall though it’s a big saving and good enough for cutting the cord, as someone who had cable withTiVo for years this is plenty good enough I think for most.

Not as simple as having cable, but we are quickly adjusting to it & enjoying the quality of reception & recording - and not having a big cable bill! Customer service is based in Canada, I believe, and DELIGHTFULLY helpful!

This recorder is the best thing since sliced bread. It was very easy to set up, It is a snap to set up either single recordings or recording a program series. It knows if a program was previously recorded and therefore does not waste storage space by re-recording it. A well designed product and very user friendly!!

I am on the north side of North Mountain but still get 50 channels. I can record 50 hours of video and can distribute it two 4 TVs in the house. simple to use and very user friendly. Best option I have found. Well worth the money.

My TiVo Roamio had died. They don't make them any more so I decided to give the Tablo a try. There is a lot to like. The Tablo is plugged into the router using an ethernet cable. You can broadcast recorded shows to any TV with a ROKU on your router's wifi or even to an iPad over the internet when you are away from home. The downside is that the interface, programming and search functions are years behind the TiVo. You do need to add an external hard drive to store programming. 2TB seems to be plenty.

Great Product for Cord Cutters! Easy to install and works as promised. I love it so much I even upgraded to commercial skip which works great! I have It hooked up wireless and have no issues (I have 4 TV's). So now I can record and watch where ever and whenever I want.

The Tablo Quad OTA DVR is a well designed and well made device. The interface and guide is great. I had to return this item though because it would not pull in WTAE, my local ABC affiliate. I have returned to using the HD Homerun Quad since it seems to have a better tuner circuit. It's still very trial and error when deciding to cut the cord and not every device is for everyone.

This Tablo was attached to an antenna in my attic space (the HOA doesn't allow outside antennas). I can get stations the cable does not carry. The recording is as good as the HD cable. I am completely happy with this product. I plan to use this when I cut the cable after football season.

I recently cut the cable and went to streaming and Over The Air (OTA) TV with an antenna in my attic. This device gives me the capability to record OTA programs. Works great and has the capability to eliminate commercials in the replay. Great customer service

Best way to record over the air TV

Once we "cut the cable" on our TV service, we still wanted to watch programs over the air. The Tablo allows those programs to be received on 4 tuners, and using an SSD for storage, record them and skip ahead on most commercials as well.

I bought the Tablo dvr to cut the cord. It works great. I did a lot of research before I settled on this one and it hasn’t disappointed. They continue to improve it all the time with updates. We love the commercial skip feature.
