Video quality is as expected. Given that the film was made in 1984, there is only so much that can be done to make it look good on today's giant high resolution televisions. Unexpectedly, our tween enjoyed the story and was visibly invested in the end fight. Of the first four films, she says this is her favorite. I am curious whether the 4K version actually offers any visual improvement given that it and the Blu-ray (reviewed here) came from the same source.

It is an old movie. However if you are interested in watching the new Cobra Kai series, it is a nice review before watching Cobra Kai.

80's version kicks the bootay off Fresh Prince and Drunken Master's version ;) mainly due to the performances of Ralph Machhio & Pat Morita-nice teacher/father/friend story. I saw this steelcase cover off my twitter feed & wanted it even though I had the DVD set. Just something bout the 80s man!

I love this 4K Movie, The Karate Kid. This Movie was great, well acted and the ending was very good as well. I loved the scene when Mr. Miyagi shows Daniel how everything he taught him works. That was a very cool sceen.

I have a four-year-old son who just got into taekwondo. He's been all into karate movies kung fu movies anymore for movies. I decided to introduce into old movies for my past. And he's been loving this movie with her command good family movie on a Friday night or Saturday night.

Being a child of the 80s, this was one of those movies that I watched over and over again as a kid. When I saw this anniversary version, I had to have it. Every time I watch it I'm my six-year-old self again!

Love this movie, it is an oldie but a goodie. This movie teaches great values of hard work and responsibility, More kids need to learn that things don't just happen by accident, that good things come to those that put the effort in. Thank you Mr. Miyagi

One of the best movies ever made. Everyone can relate somehow to this story of lessons and wisdom. This classic 80s movie will resonate in any era. Must have. 10 thumbs up.

I do really don't know what to say about this edition. I mean I like the movie and the steelbook looks good, but I hate that the main two characters don't be on the cover o ether on the back, or at least inside. I mean where are pat Morita and Ralph??

Film looks great in 4K. There is quite a bit of film grain but I would rather have that than having an overly processed picture. The movie, obviously, is fantastic as well.

I've always enjoyed The Karate Kid, and this awesome -looking steelbook makes a great movie an even more tempting purchase! Despite the fact that the film's antagonists are pictured and the inside of the case lacks art (this could be remedied by creative customers), the designs are well implemented to the case and is recommended as opposed to the original plastic case art.

The Karate Kid is such a classic and with the new Cobra Kai series creating even more buzz alot of people are going back and watching the original movie. Its well worth the upgrade to 4K.

Great classic movie that I wanted to add to my library. I’ve been watching cobra Kai and saw this and knew at the price that I should go ahead and pick it up.

The scene where Pat Morita shows Ralph Macciho that all the time spent doing "chores" has not been for naught is one of the great moments in cinematic history.

The first and best of the trilogy. If you love martial arts or japanese traditions/customs, and a good old american good v bad, this is the movie for you.

Great 4k transfer for a movie that is over 35 years old. The movie itself is perhaps a little dated but I can always count on the movie to entertain.

This classic movie is all about standing up for yourself. The relationship between Daniel and Mr. Miyagi is one of cinemas' greatest. The blu-ray looks phenomenal and comes with great special features, including a commentary track.

THIS is the definitive version of The Karate Kid. The film transfer looks outstanding and I simply love the cover art as it solely focuses on the TRUE hero of the movie, Johnny Lawrence and his Cobra Kai brethren.

Had to get this classic after watching Cobra Kai. I haven't watched this movie since I was a child and still very good.

Of course the movie is a classic and you already know that. The steel book case is a great way to add this movie to your collection. Don't have to worry about bent sleeves and cracked plastic on your bluray case.
