I originally owned the full extended trilogy on DVD, and watched them to death. After upgrading to Blu Ray, I decided to repurchase the collection, not expecting anything new. Was I ever wrong! Even in 1080p, the details that the crafters put into the production are so much more visible, it is like experiencing the whole story anew.

Not much is needed to be said about Lord of the Rings. It is an amazing story, it has great acting, cinematography and effects. The Blu Ray version is perfect. Audio sounds amazing. My only complaint is that the extras are not Blu Ray. I think the whole set could have been cut in half if all disc were Blu Ray. Still, not enough of an issue to not buy it.

The Lord of the RIngs: The Motion Picture Trilogy (Extended Edition) with 15 discs (3 movies are blu-ray) has more coverage, deleted scenes, total coverage of Peter Jackson's fantasy than any other set available. Price was great as a black friday item plus free shipping!

It's an annual personal tradition that I watch the entire LOTR trilogy at some point during the holidays. I picked these up this year as an upgrade to DVD. Loved them, and the extended edition really does flesh out the story a little more. Very happy with this purchase.

Watching the extended versions help make sense of the entire movie. The first time I saw this movie it left a lot of questions which have been answered with this set. This is a movie I like to watch when I get a break from work. This is the kind of movie that takes you in. Great Movie.

The extended edition is well worth the extra cost! You get full scenes blended into the movie cut version. Also, it is easy to tell a new scene because of the booklet that comes with the movie set. It was quite a few additions; enjoyed the extras!!

Never seeing the extended versions before, I now feel like I have actually seen the real films. There are so many scenes in the extended versions that are awesome and make the film make more sense. Highly recommend owning these and not the theatrical films.

who doesnt love these movies, really? you know what youre getting here, good ol LOTR with allll the fine extra bits thrown in for flavor. a must have for the diehard fan. i had the movies on dvd and finally decided to upgrade and im glad i did. money well spent.

Extended version has lots of new footage, brings runtime from 9 hours to 11 1/2 hours. Deleted scenes as well as longer versions of scenes that were already in the movies. An Escape to Middle Earth during the pandemic, sounds good to me.

Extended versions of all 3 movies are very cool. All the deleted scenes are added back in. Just started to watch the "behind the scenes" clips. They are also very interesting. A must for any Lord of the Rings FAN. A Big 5 stars ALL THE WAY!! Got this on a super deal for Christmas for my son.-- He loves it and we have really enjoyed watching them!

The Lord of the Rings movies are wonderful, well-made movies in and of themselves in many categories. This Blu-ray version of the trilogy is excellent quality. The picture is fantastic. The sound is excellent. The extra scenes of the extended version add interest and fun to the movies. I recommend this product to any Lord of the Rings fans.

Our first Blu Ray purchase. I was blown away by the video quality! And the extras in this set were INCREDIBLE. Getting to see how they created the magical world was a real treat. And the movies... what can I say about a journey to Middle Earth? Tolkien would be proud of what Peter Jackson was able to do. Grab a bowl of popcorn and enjoy!

The theatrical versions were some of my favorite films of all time, until the extended editions came out. Let’s just say that it has become a family tradition to have a LOTR extended edition marathon at least once a year! These films are true masterpieces!

It's Lord of the Rings. You've probably heard of it and have an idea of what it's about. The extended cuts do offer a good bit more story and cover more of the themes from the book. I can't say there's much difference in quality between the Blu-Ray and DVD versions, but they're still good.

OK, we all know these movies are fantastic, but this Blu-ray set really raises the bar. There are 15 discs in total - the movies are on 6 Blu-rays & the bonus material is on 9 DVDs. The picture quality is truly amazing as is the sound, better than I remember it looking and sounding in the theater!

It was really terrific having all three of these classic movies to watch sequentially, especially since they were extended editions! The 1080p Blu-ray picture quality wasn't pristine in a lot of scenes (it was watched on a 4K 65" display), but very good nonetheless. I'm very glad I purchased this!

The extended version is the only way to go IMO. In addition to the movie there are plenty of extras for the serious LOTR fans. Extras include the usual behind the scenes and commentaries. Also included are raw footage of selected scenes as they were filmed.

These movies on Blu Ray and extended are truly an outstanding watch. the added scenes make such a difference in the whole movie experience. The additions fill in many of the gaps that I had noticed from reading the books and the extra material brings to life the whole process and the actors.

We love Lord of the Rings when it came out! But after we watched The Hobbit in BluRay we needed to see Lord of the Rings extended version in BluRay. Happy you sent it to us so quickly!Thank you

I’ve had the regular dvd version of this for a while. Looked better than standard definition on an up scaling Blu Ray. Blu ray version was noticeably better which is why I wanted to get this. Got on sale during the holidays which was a plus.
