This massive 15-disc(!) set is everything you could ever want when it comes to this awesome trilogy. If there are any downsides, it's that the special feature discs are just DVD's and not Blu-rays. Still, since those special features were filmed in SD originally I guess it really doesn't matter too much.

I got this trilogy on a Black Friday sale, so for the price it was a steal! The packaging it comes in is very unique. It has a magnetic cover, to keep the 15 discs all together. It also has a map that comes with it too. Watching these movies in blu-ray makes them that much better!

I like the movie since I watched at theater. It does not matter how many time I watch, I still want to watch it again and again. The extended edition give you another level to see the whole movie that you are not able to see it at theater. It is truly the best movie for all ages.

I can’t really review the quality of these particular disks, as they are a Birthday gift for my son. But... the movies, and especially the extended version are AWESOME! We did receive them quickly and well packed; and coming from Best Buy I’m sure the quality will be great. How can you go wrong?!

A must have for your collection. In 100 years people will still be raving about these movies. Timeless, classic.

I have had the DVD boxed sets of the extended editions since they were initially released. I had been meaning to upgrade them “sometime”, but that turned into an insta-buy when I saw all three films and the bonus content at the price they were at.

Bought this on Black Friday. The sale was unbelievable and I just had to have it. Fantastic set of films and I only like to watch the extended editions, they could each be 6 hours long and I'd still watch these versions. Bonuses are great.

After the horrible season 8 of GOT, I boycotted the final episode and purchased the extended versions of Lord of the Rings. I had forgotten how incredible this series is. If you do not have the blu rays, you need to pick them up. They are awesome!

I enjoyed the extended versions of the three films on DVD, and now they look even better on Blu-Ray. I don't mind the split discs as this tells me the manufacturers were interested in getting the best quality audio and video possible.

I love this movie and was psyched to find such a great deal on black friday. One note: because of how much is in these cases, some may have issues with case when opened. Just be mindful, but def worth the purchase!

The only way to enjoy these films is by watching the extended versions. you will appreciate the extra footage. Plus all of the added behind the scenes looks and commentaries by Peter Jackson and the actors, just wonderful!

Lord of The Lord of The Rings - The Motion Picture Trilogy - Extended Edition is wonderful!!!! Saw extended versions in the movie theatre on the big screen. It gives you a whole new perspective of the movies!!!

If you’re a fan of the lord of the rings then this is a purchase that has to be made!! You get the extended edition of trilogy and extra behind the scenes!! What more can a fan want?! Great gift idea too!

One of the best trilogy’s ever made and written. We watch these over and over again. My only complaint is having to change discs in the middle of each movie. Otherwise an excellent Blu-Ray copy and a must own.

I can't believe it arrived so soon! Just in time for hubby's first day of vacation. He was so please to see he was going to be able to binge watch The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. He said it was the best gift ever!

One of the best trilogy films of all time. Excellent sound and video quality. Great reasonable price (replacing the DVD formats to BluRay). LoTR collection in one set. Return of the King (Best Picture, 2004).

The Blu-ray set is boxed beautifully, the quality of video itself is amazing but mixed with the upscaling of a 4K TV completely changes the way it looks to something better that I could never have imagined!

If you have not watched the extended versions then you are missing out. There was a lot of scenes that were cut to make the movie shorter for the theaters. Comes with nice gold colored covers.

There's lots to like in this massive and well packaged version of LOTR. The packaging is beautiful, designed to look like a classic Book. Inside, the disks are lightly held in place, and could be tighter. A minor fault, common to a lot of multiple dvds in a package. There are lots of them too. In addition to extended versions of the 3 movies, each on 2 blu-rays disks, which is a little disconcerting, but if you combine it with a bathroom or refreshment break, it's a welcome intermission. You have dvds of the making of... these are very good also. I've watched some of them. If you are a fan, and you must be if you bought this package, then you will enjoy the back stories and details of production. It is interesting and insightful. So- enough to quench the thirst of die-hard LOTR fans. If you can get this set on sale, you will like it even more. A bit of background. I've been a LOTR fan for a long time, since I read them, a while back, I had bought the original dvds of the films as they were released. They were fine, but eventually I replaced them with a 3 dvd blu-ray version. I was not happy with the quality of them, and ended up giving them away. I watched the orig. dvd's, but wanted blu-ray quality. The word on line was that this set was superior. They were right. The quality of the blu-ray movie is superb, film like, not video like. I liked the extended versions of the films too. I recommend this particular version and set. It would make a great gift for that special LOTR person. Also a worthwhile splurge for yourself. These days, there's plenty of time, and you know you deserve it.

Exceptional product. Quality is amazing along with the overall quality of the disks and case that all 3 movies come in. The extra features are also a bonus going into the making and background of the movies.
