This is an external backup drive connected to a PC, but it's also accessed over the network as a kind of NAS run by the Windows machine. So far, it's worked great.

I was looking for something to backup my laptop and this Toshiba was really easy to set up and use. It does a good job and the software that you have to use to backup your data is pretty user friendly.

Compared to my other external drives, this one is very slow to copy/paste multiple files at a time, and it doesn't play large videos smoothly. Not recommended for running files from it. You better save the files you are working on to the computer if you need to work on them.
