I purchased several TP-Link / Kasa switches and plugs. They were easy to install and have worked flawlessly since. I have found big benefit to be able to turn lights on around the outside of my home by enabling these indoor switches thru mobile data when I am close to pulling up in my vehicle. I then have a nice lighted path to park, open gates, etc. I would like the toggle to have a wifi symbol at all times...would just be a nice aesthetic. But, that said, the green led is attractive and at least enable you to see the status of the switch and serves as a guide if you want to press it in the dark. Also, having these switches connected with Alexa enables verbal commands to light the way instead of fumbling in the dark.

    Smart light perfection

The new Echo compatibility works well and allows grouping controllers under a single group name. Using the assigned groups you can control more than on device at the same time! TP-LINK support for the HS200 is extremely easy with the use of the KASA app. The devices easily integrate with Alexa with no issues. The controllers can be configured with Kasa to be connected away from home or locally. To be controlled by Echo each individual controller must be set to Remote Control ON, in the Device Settings menu. The light switch is easy to manage but installation for me was difficult not because of wiring but because I have an older home with smaller space for wiring behind the light switch. I did manage to test the device though but wasn't able to fit it for use after testing. Installation is easy though and it does lay out and suggest if your not comfortable with wiring to seek an electrician. The button on the front controls lights off by turning off the WI-FI!

I love this smart switch. It took me less than 10 minutes to install it and connect it to my home wifi network. My kitchen lights are a runner of 5 lights and it wasn't realistic to purchase 5 separate wifi enabled lights so I purchased this switch instead and it works perfectly with my Google Home. I say turn on/off the kitchen lights and I've never had an issue where it does not work. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to control an electronic device via wifi or Google/Amazon assistant.

I've tried other smart switches before but this one is probably the best. Easy to install and set up with the app. I have 5 of these set up throughout my home. Helps me save energy by creating a schedule. Works flawlessly with Alexa. I've switched all my smart products to TP link because it is sooooo reliable. You can still operate this switch manually if your internet goes out which is a huge plus.

This is my 3rd TPLink smart switch and like the others before, these have been very reliable and fairly easy to install. This last one with the updated Kasa phone app was actually even easier to connect to WiFi than the earlier ones I had. Note that you have to have some electrical experience to install this product or else have a pro do it. It also requires a neutral wire to properly operate. Works great with my Alexa Echo.

These have been the easiest to install simply, easy to set up on your phone etc. The base is a little bulky for switch box I recommend getting a different switch plate for asthestic reasons if you are switching 1 of 3 or sometime in general lining back up is hard do the volume in the switch box it's possible just takes time. I have bought these for my mom and myself

I was looking at various options, mostly on amazon and home depot, but came across this TP-Link which was priced competitively at Best Buy and available same day. I bought this to replace a switch that had a digital timer built in, but wanted more control and ease of programming it, especially when the day light savings time changes. This fit the bill and felt that the app (I'm using the android version) is better than other smart home plug devices. There are cheaper no name brands made in China and the software/app is a bit questionable and I don't feel very secure when giving my contact info, but TP-Link's seems legit with an actual website, good interface, and full support. I have this smart switch connected to my porch light. It has a nice vacation feature too where it will turn on and off the light at random times to mimic an actual person turning the switch on and off. It's not the cheapest smart switch that's out there, but you pay a little extra for a quality built product with good software, support, and instructions. I felt this was important especially when you are wiring something directly to your house. Buying at Best Buy gave the option of getting it same day and option to return if it didn't work out. Make sure you have a neutral wire in order to use this.

One of the smartest purchases I've made. I have many TP-Link plugs in my house and was timid about how difficult it might be to install one of these switches. After all, the plugs are...well..plug in and then plug in your device. After watching a YouTube video it didn't appear to be that difficult. Having a home built in 2016 I checked and did see the white wire so I moved forward with the purchase. Fast-forward a few months later and I've installed over 6 of them in my house (including a 3-pole one) and absolutely love it. My exterior lights go on and off by themselves everyday set to 15 minutes after daylight starts and 45 minutes before it ends. I no longer have to remember to turn something on or off and makes it great coming home from work in the winter and the outside lights are already on due to the early sunset. I have them on indoor lights and a ceiling fan so it's very convenient to turn on my stair lights with my voice when I have my hands full or my kitchen counter lights if my hands are dirty.

Pros - 1. looks nicer (in appearance) than its competitor products 2. step-by-step installation instruction in the Kasa app 3. Works with both Google Assistant and Alexa (no concerns if I want to switch my smart home speaker/assistant) 4. Kasa has a complete collection of smart devices (common switch, 3-way, dimmable, etc.). I have a few ordinary 3-way switches at home and I'm considering replacing them with Kasa (while other brands generally don't offer smart 3-way switches) Cons (why not 5-star) - 1. Flaws in the Kasa app (but do not affect its functionality) 1.1. It doesn't consider the corner case where my WiFi goes out as I turn off the circuit breaker while installing the smart switch. The app repeatedly asked for WiFi connection, producing frustrating user experience 1.2. The Kasa app doesn't track the sunrise / sunset time in my location (as far as I know, timestamp at 2018/07/28) Bought 4 so far. Will give updates on their durability / other aspects in the future.

TP-Link single pole and dimmer switches are fantas

Everyone this switch and the dimmer switch work incredibly well. I’ve installed about ten dimmers and five single pole switches. Make sure there is a white wire in the box, and a ground is good too although maybe not necessary to function. However, if there isn’t a white wire it won’t work. Now for the software I’ve got the app on my iPhone and iPad and it is easy to use and works well. When your WiFi is down you can’t control the switches unless you go and actually touch them. Both Google and Alexa can control them and that’s fairly easy too. Makes it so much easier when your leaving the house to just say Alexa I’m leaving or Google I’m leaving and magically all the lights go out. Conversely, when you get home just say I’m home and poof all the lights come on. I guess if your vehicle has WiFi and you are close enough to the house this would work also. Bottom line, very nice switches, very nice packaging, very nice software and the price is almost the lowest of any wifi enabled switches. Only draw back it does not work with Apple Home at the current time without a third party app that so far I’ve found difficult to use.

The switch works very well. Mainly purchased it for use as a timer. The instructions did indicate that a neutral wire was required. Luckily the switches had that already and we did not have to pull the neutral. Had it installed by a professional. Connected it to the home network using the instructions provided. The app is convenient and easy to use.

Very happy for the price (Belkins are overpriced). I replaced the switch that lights the front door and driveway with this one, and I use the Kasa app to schedule on/off times. TRULY AMAZING. You need to know that you need to connect the neutral (white) wire that comes with it, otherwise it won't work.

This switch was fairly easy to install. Internally it is a little larger than a regular switch, so you will need to make sure you have plenty of room inside the wall box. Easy to connect to wifi, and hasn't lost its connection yet. Now I don't have to get up and walk around the sofa to turn off that annoying light that casts a glare on the tv.

I purchased this switch to replace a z-wave switch that died after only 2 years. This was a breeze to install, minus getting the wires to fit back inside the box. Super easy to connect to WiFi, and program/schedule via Google Home. Will definitely buy another one if the need arises.

I love the Kasa line of smart switches and plugs, and now have 6 smart switches and an equal number of smart plugs installed in my ever-growing SmartHome. The key features for me are: 1) Works locally or cloud based. I have all of my units forced to be local only by blocking cloud access at my router. 2) Excellent integration with HomeAssistant and Alexa Echo devices via the HomeAssistant interface for local-only support using Hue emulation. 3) Easy DIY integration (e.g. Raspberry Pi) with several open-source Python libraries available. 4) Very stable and reliable. 5) Good smart phone app, but I typically only use the app for initial installation. 6) Fairly easy to install, but does require a neutral wire. I'm a retired EE, so that part's easy for me, but could be challenging for someone unfamiliar with house wiring. There are lots of competitors in this space, but since I've landed on the Kasa line, I'll be sticking with it.

If you can’t decide how you’re going build your smart home network, these are a great place to start. While they may not tie into a single smart hub setup (although I’ve not read enough to know), they’re compatible with Alexa & Google if that’s your thing. If that’s too complicated for you at this point but you want an easy way to program lights & remotely operate them; this is your answer. Simple to install following the directions provided, straight forward wiring, intuitive app, all combine to make these a DIY dream. I’ve only had mine 1month and simply wanted my outside lights to turn on at sunset & turn off at sunrise. At this point, flawless operation. Highly recommend for beginners; need to read more but looks like more advanced automation is available. Will be purchasing more for the rest of the house. CAUTION: it can be a little tricky organizing the wiring inside a 2-gang or 3-gang box and getting the bulkier switch(es) to fit, but it’s doable.

Easy to wire in and set up using Kasa, and then using Google home for voice control. I can control the switch from anywhere using my cell phone. Schedules are easy to set up. It has worked flawlessly. Not much more expensive than non-wifi programmable switches, which can be very hard to program.

For those lighting situations like 4' fluorescent bulbs there aren't Smart bulbs yet. However, if you run them on a standard light switch, this switch works very nicely. No hub required to work with Amazon Echo, just wire it in place of your existing switch, connect to your wireless network using the Kasa app, and enable the skill on your echo. This is not a device you should install yourself unless you are competent in home wiring, so please consider using an electrician if you aren't skilled in this area. You will also need a 2.4GHz wireless network to connect it. Once connected the switch performs nicely as long as it stays connected to the network, and can be operated both with the app or personal assistant (Alexa), or by just using the switch manually. I did have one instance where the switch seemed to lose it's setup, but after a reset I was able use it just fine and it has operated flawlessly since for several weeks.

The TP-LINK smart switch is a great smart switch and priced at a lower cost than it's competition when compared to wemo, lutron at best buy stores. Installation was easy. The kasa app guides you step by step. Just note *this particular smart switch can only be used for single pole only. Not compatible to replace 3-way switches. The physical button clicks when pressed manually which is nice. The app is also nice. It keeps track of the usage and hours the switch is on and off. You can set timers on when you'd like to turn the switch on or off. I find this feature useful because I have my switch installed to control my front and back porch lights when the sunsets and rises. And yes, this will sync well with google assistant and Amazon Alexa. BUT no apple homekit compatibility. Overall, if you want a smart switch that's more affordable than wemo, lutron etc, and possesses the same features and some, I personally vouch for this product.
