The installation is easy, provided you have a natural wire inside the bracket. The app (Kasa) is also easy to use, and no problem link up with Alexa and Google home. Pairing up the wifi is also easy - just follow the app instruction. Have been using it for a few weeks - no issue found.

Setup was easy and it works well with my google home. Compared to the Wemo switch, it disconnects less frequently. Definitely recommend for a low cost switch. The only thing I don’t like is the snap on plate cover. It works well unless you need to get it off, in which case be prepared to scratch/dent some drywall.

Absolutely great product! I have been using these TP-Link smart light switches (and other TP-Link products) for years and recently decided to purchase 5 more. These are very easy to install and very easy to connect to your wi-fi network using the Kasa app. I use these with my numerous Alexa-enabled devices around my home. The Alexa app works beautifully with these products. I will continue to buy the TP-Link Kasa branded products. My original light switches and light bulbs still work flawlessly after 3 years of constant use. Even cutting the electricity off to my home (or in the rare power outage event) these light switches (or light bulbs) haven't needed to be updated to work on my network. I can't say that about every wi-fi smart device.

I have been using TP-Link for other home smart devices and thought that this would be good to install for my front porch light. Buying a smart switch is actually cheaper than buying a new light with a sensor to turn on from dusk to dawn. The install was easy, setup with wifi simple and was able to schedule it just like my other devices through the app on my phone. Slight warning for home owners with older houses: The switch was slightly bigger than the box I had in place. My home is older with outdated electrical boxes. I did need to replace the box to expand the space needed for this switch. This was not a problem for me since I have done this before and it was expected. For those not comfortable with this kind of home improvement, you may want to take this in to consideration.

I've been in the process of converting my home into a smart home. I chose these over smart light bulbs and I'll explain why. The smart light bulbs are more convenient as far as install but not near as cost effective. With this production I can use any type of light bulbs. As far as install I'm no electrician but it is a very easy install and does not require much know how. I've been very happy with the results! Theres several things I've learned since I've been using them one of which I like the most is the ability to pair them with my nest thermostat so when I leave and my thermostat goes into away mode my lights automatically turn off. All in all a solid product and works very well.

I bought 3 of these to control my living room light, garage lights, and porch light. These switches connect to your wifi, and are programmed through the free Kasa app that you download to your phone. You can set the switches to turn on and off according to a schedule. You can choose the on and off times, or can instruct them to turn on at sunset and off at sunrise. You can even set them to turn on and off at specfic time intervals before or after sunrise and sunset. For example, I set my living room switch to turn on 30 minutes before sunset, and turn off at midnight. My garage and porch lights are set to turn on at sunset and off at sunrise. My power went out for 45 minutes today, and the switches retained their settings. I am pleased with these switches!

I have these installed in my entire house. Great product. Connects with ease and does not drop internet connection. Easy to install. Highly recommended for anyone for a snart home build. Never have to get up out of a warm bed to turn off the light. I bought a bunch at BestBuy while they were on sales.

This is easy to set up and comes with clear directions for the wiring. Super easy to connect to the app as well. This is much more affordable than other similar items in the market and it works great!

I purchase these switches because of the ease of use and the directions on how to connect. The Kasa app makes all this possible. Way better than the leviton switches and half the price.

I installed this switch a few days ago to control the exhaust fan in my master bathroom. Installation and set-up were a breeze. Integration with Amazon Alexa is seamless. My favorite feature by far is the ability to control it with a Smart Action through the Kasa app. I have the Smart Action setup to automatically turn the fan off after 30 minutes whether it's turned on manually or via Alexa. No more hopping in the shower and realizing I didn't turn the fan on - I can just ask Alexa to do it. Also no more forgetting to turn the fan off. This smart switch was less expensive and more capable than any of the stand alone timers I was considering.

Easy install and paired with Alexa with zero problems. I bought this to operate my fireplace by voice. Worked out great. Also, the switch does work with a standard decora cover plate so you don't have to install the gigantic cover plate that comes with it. Fireplace controls are low voltage and the Kasa switch only passes its 120v line voltage through so I used a 120v Honeywell pam relay to close the fireplace contacts. The pam relays are low cost, extremely reliable and have a high temp rating because they are listed fire alarm equipment, perfect for a fireplace.

I've installed a number of these in my home. My husband is so impressed with today's technology, I had to get more. Our children leave lights on like we own the power company! I've installed led money saving bulbs in every fixture and have each switch on a schedule. Our bedroom is on the first floor while the children are on the second floor. They like to leave the hallway lights on and it aggravates me to know I'm losing money when they go to bed with the lights burning. So far this is the 2nd best thing going in my household next to the smart thermostat with a digital lock/password. Children are no longer changing the thermostat without my knowledge anymore. Love it!

I needed to replace my existing porch timer as it was a pain to have to re-program the on and off times as the daytime/nightime changed through the year. With this switch in place, setting those in and off times is now a breeze. I did have to splice into the neutral wire of my lighting for the unit to work properly (instructions say the neutral needs to be connected). Once it was up and running, connection to the wifi and use was very simple. It works like my other TP-Link smart plugs. He unit fits on a standard light wallplate (which you probably already have if you are replacing an existing switch). Setting the on and off times is very easy and you can push the switch button of you would like to manually turn the light on or off.

This is my first TP–Link Wi-Fi smart light switch and I am surprised and impressed with this product so far. I actually purchased it to install at my mother's house as the price was so low, but the build quality and the instruction directions/ illustrations really impressed me. In addition installing the switch itself and connecting to the network was easy and intuitive. I own a number of WeMo products and connecting this switch to the wifi network went much smoother. This switch does more than my Leviton smart switch and is about 1/3 of the price and I can control it remotely. I really recommend this product.

Great switch for a very reasonable price. Very easy to install . Does need to have neutral wiring in your house. Switch works like a champ thru kasa app. Love it !

I like Kasa plugs. TCP-IP based, so no base station. And you can get at them from anywhere, not just on the home network. You can store on-off schedules on the plug, they seem to be in an eeprom, so power loss does not loose the settings. And when the power comes back, the switches function as normal. Wiring is slightly more complicated for wall switches, there needs to be a connection to live power so the WiFi will function at all times. But no big deal.

Installed this fairly easily in a home that had updated wiring, meaning the neutral wire was present (as it is needed for this to work). When using this with a Google Home, if you have automations set up it is important this is not designated as a switch but as specific a product as possible -- for example if it's to a light change the description to a light so that the automation doesn't throw an error (something to do with a safety hazard). The only thing you have to get settled with on this is that you can only press at the bottom (yes, you have to unlearn pressing on the top of the switch) and depending on your wiring it could make a clicking noise when you do press it / the signal relays to the device. However, once this is installed it is good for however long and is hard-wired and just needs 2.4GHz WiFi.

Easy to install, easy to connect to internet, easy to connect to Alexa. I use it for my garage light and have it set on a timer. No more forgetting to turn it on or off.

We recently moved to a new home and when we would come home at night we couldn’t see to unlock the door. We have 3 separate outside light fixtures connected to one switch. I researched smart bulbs, but since each fixture had 4 bulbs each, the cost would be over $200. I looked on bestbuy.com and found the tp-link smart light switch. It was very easy to install myself. The Kasa app works great. Now we can control the lights with our smart phones and I can schedule them to come on before we come home at night. Highly recommended.
