Customers are impressed with the Elite Pro 2 Wired Gaming Headset's superb sound quality, comfortable design, and deep bass. Many appreciate the comfortable earcups and overall fit, along with the added convenience of Bluetooth functionality. However, some customers find the wired design cumbersome and wish for wireless options, while others mention concerns about the volume level and price point. The headset's features are generally well-received, but potential buyers should consider these trade-offs.

These are amazing headsets. Personally I have owned them all ranging from Skullcandy’s to Astro A50’s and I can say that for shooters they are absolutely ridiculous. Now for normal sound i.e. movies, music, podcasts maybe not as good as Astro’s, but for getting an edge on opposing players by hearing footsteps and gun sounds they are top notch. If you are looking for a top of the line set of cans that will give you an advantage in any FPS stop right here.

Good sound quality app is glichy at times and you should always check for updates as they do affect performance. But you can’t update through the app which is a pain. Also the connecting wire from headset to volume controls is easily ruined since it’s extremely long and tends to get caught on things

Probably overall the best gaming headset ive ever used. Great sound, I'd rank it number 2 of all the ones ever used. Very balanced sound, lows and highs don't drown each other out.

UNBOXING, AND INITIAL IMPRESSIONS:
The packaging is better than most I’ve seen. Honestly, that’s about all I can say in this area. While most manufacturers are doing better at “environmentally-friendly” packaging, including Turtle Beach, they still have a way to go before they can truly claim “environmentally-friendly”. As for initial impression, all I can say is “WOW!!!” Nice-looking, quality materials, and built-to-last. My only ‘disappointment’ in this area is the black & silver color scheme…I MUCH prefer the all-black w/ red accent of the original Elite Pro. It’s a bit more understated than the original…but, at the same time, it won’t attract unwanted attention.
COMFORT & EASE OF OPERATION:
The ear pads are thick enough to be comfortable for extended wearing, but, at the same time, are more breathable than most other thick-padded cans. The padding along the top of the head, while not as thick, is still quite comfortable, plus the rigid metal band helps keep everything solidly in place. The only downside to the metal band is that those with smaller heads (I’m “borderline”) won’t get a nice seal, thus outside sound can “leak” in. overall, fit is still quite good, and better than some others. For those with larger heads, you will have a nice, comfortable, tight seal, so consider that a huge “plus”. The controls are fairly simplistic, which some will like, and others will hate. The in-line control controls only the mic (on/mute), while the remainder of the control is handled by the Super Amp. The app is how the majority of adjustments are made, and, unfortunately, I really haven’t had a lot of time to play around with the settings. The Super Amp is, essentially, an external USB “sound card”, when connected to a computer. It can also connect directly to an Xbox One, or PS4, depending on which version you get. The Super Amp supports Dolby 5.1-channel mixing, as well as DTS-X, plus it has a (limited) 3-band EQ (hi, mid, low)
SOUND QUALITY:
For gaming, this is where the Elite Pro 2 shines…and what it’s designed for. The simulated surround sound is extremely good…one of the best I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing. Sound f/x are clean, clear, and loud, and, while direction isn’t perfect (for that, you need a TRUE surround-sound system with individual speakers), again, it is one of the best. The only downside might be the microphone. While clear enough for chat, it lacks the crisp, clean sound one would expect from something in this price range. My recommendation would be to use a dedicated USB mic, and forget about using the Elite Pro 2’s mic. Switching over to music for a quick minute, while the audio is quite good, it is a bit bass-heavy. However, there are plenty of people who will appreciate this, and consider this to be a “plus” (I’m not one of them).
THE GOOD:
• Very comfortable
• Excellent sound quality
• High-quality build
• Bluetooth
THE BAD:
• App needs some serious improvement (based on pro reviews I’ve read)
• Heavy bass
• Sound “leak” for those with smaller heads
• Price – At $250, it could be better
THE UGLY:
• Honestly, nothing I could think of
FINAL VERDICT:
Overall sound is very good…better, in fact, than many others in the same price range. At the same time, there are others in the same price range that are better. Does this mean you should avoid the Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2? In a word, “no”. if you want to save some money, and don’t need the ‘Super Amp’, get the original Elite Pro (the sweet-looking black w/ red accent), which uses the exact same drivers. However, if you want/need the ‘Super Amp’, like the idea of customizing the audio (via the app) and/or have a need/’want’ for Bluetooth connectivity, then the Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 could be your ticket.

TBH I never write reviews! I'm only writing this for my fellow hardcore gamers that really appreciate high quality sound when playing games:). When I first bought these headphones it was love at first sight. The amp made hearing footsteps really audible and I felt like an actual streamer LOL. But really, you get high quality crisp sounds with this and you can adjust the sound with the amp -- huge plus.
My gripe about these headphones is the darn wires. I'm a simple man and I actually really prefer the wired headset over the wireless headsets because you don't have to worry about charging the headphones. After about 6-8 months, I noticed that the wires started acting funky on me. Sometimes the sound would go out and instead of connecting my headphones to the amp, I would often have to connect my headphones straight to the controller (hate it bc then whats the point of the amp!)
So my advice if your looking to get this headphone is to purchase the geek squad protection and protect these headphones. If I could give an analogy about these headphones they are like the old wired apple headphones. You'll be listening to them and suddenly after a few months they just give out on you. I think this is likely due to poor wire quality. BEWARE!

The highs/mids are some of the best I have ever heard on a gaming headset. I literally heard minor details I'd never heard before. Wind, water, and footsteps all noticeable.
The bass on the other hand, is great at low to mid volume, but like many Turtle Beach headsets, clips at high volumes. It is very noticeable, too. Tried to repair it with the EQ, but no luck. That is unfortunate as I was hoping to have an all around headset as described. It will work for some, but bass heavy music may be compromised.
The build is excellent and sturdy, and they are extremely comfortable. I could play in these all day with little to no discomfort.
Now, for the true downfall, the app. I am using Android, and the app has crashed more times than I can count. I think it was a bad idea to have all major tuning specifications attached to an app that has to be running at all times. I would start a game, and connect the app, then when I wanted to turn on "Superhuman Hearing," I would open the app, and it would have to "reconnect," thus delaying the action by at least 10-15 seconds. Doesn't seem like a lot, but in gameplay, when switching up sound profiles, it can be tedious. And all too often, the app would not recognize the headset and/or crash forcing a restart. Hopefully this will be corrected in future updates, but for now, you have to be set on your game setting before play in case the app starts to act crazy.
The call/bluetooth features did/do work well, though. Which means the bluetooth connection is stable.
The mic is clear on calls and gaming chat. no complaints there.
I do enjoy this headset and the sound is immersive, but the app needs serious TLC to be on par.

Headset is pretty good. Comfortable over glasses for long gaming sessions. Pretty cool that I can bluetooth my phone to it while I have it connected to the PC or PS4. It's a shame that all of this doesn't matter when a $10 cable can break just after a year and the replacement is sold out on Turtle Beach's own website. Trying to find alternatives to a replacement cable will leave you reading posts on forums on how the replacement has been sold out for months and customer support has been silent. After using a variety of turtle beach headsets for over 10 years I have to strongly recommend against them at this point.

This was my 1st set of headphones specifically for gaming. Amazing. I had no idea what I was missing. I'm 44 and I suck at Fortnite. I hate losing but I have a wife, 3 kids and a business to run so I don't play often and that means that after playing once in a while for 5-6 months I still suck. If I wanted to play at night after the kids were in bed, the volume was so low I couldn't hear chests, enemies, etc. which led to being shot in the back a lot. With the Turtle Beach headphones I hear everything. Seriously, everything. I can hear birds chirping in the trees. I didn't even know there were bird sounds in the game. I can tell if footsteps are coming and which direction they are coming from. Behind me on the left, in front to the right, the directional accuracy is amazing. They are so comfortable I forget they're there. The headband fits everyone in my family from me to my 4 year old. The app is simple and allows for an unnecessary number of customizations.
My only complaint is the cords! They are long enough to sit comfortably on the couch about 8' from the TV but they are constantly being tripped over by 3 kids under 10 and 2 big dogs. I know that wired connections are better and I can't fault a wired device for being wired so the benefits far outweigh the inconvenience of picking up after myself.
I still suck at Fortnite but now instead of getting shot in the back because I can't hear my enemies sneaking up on me, I get shot in the face like a man. I'm working on it.
