Likes and Dislikes of These Headphones
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, love these headphones. They have lasted me a whole year and ongoing. Note- I have been using these headphones consistently throughout the year and it definitely has lasted There’s nothing much wrong to say about these headphones but a list of the pros and cons will be stated: The pros: -great gaming headphones, fall short to not much for its price -Perfect for a wireless experience -Has many tools accessible right on the headphones themselves After a year they still hold up quite nicely that I don’t even feel the need to buy another anytime soon. The sound is quite nice as well and you could definitely hear the footsteps of someone walking around in the game The cons: -Not that great of a mic, does happen to pick up on noise quite easily, but not that much of a problem -Can’t tell at what battery the headphone is at until it tells you with some beeping -Not comfortable to wear after a long period of time but that also be because I use them for long hours; about 4 hours -And although I said the audio is great, when compared to headphones like the Sony MX10004 you could definitely hear the difference -Also when comparing the same headphones, you would realize the padding on these turtle beaches isn’t quite as good and comfortable as other headphones. But of course you can’t compare $100 headphones to $300 headphones

SOLID ALL-AROUND WIRELESS PERFORMANCE PS4/SWITCH/P
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.SOLID ALL-AROUND WIRELESS PERFORMANCE PS4/SWITCH/PC REVIEW: TURTLE BEACH STEALTH 600 GEN 2 FOR PLAYSTATION Best Buy Tech Insider Network SUMMARY: My Primary use for these headphones is gaming on PS/4. Wireless connectivity is nice. Sound quality is perfectly good. (These are not $1000 audiophile headphones). Bass is good, speech is clear. The other person can hear me just fine even in loud environment. If you want a good all-around performer without breaking the bank this is a good option. I tested the TURTLE BEACH STEALTH 600 GEN 2 FOR PLAYSTATION on the Switch, PS4, and PC. I also like that they are “glasses friendly”. Controls are easy to use for both the Headphone Volume and Mic Volume (feedback). I really like the flip up mic that acts as mute. UNBOXING: (see picture) INITIAL IMPRESSIONS: They are well packaged and while they don’t scream luxury they also don’t scream cheap. I don’t expect them to fall apart anytime soon like less expensive headsets might. SETUP: It took some fussing on the PS4 to get them to work. I forgot to take screen shots, but although the instructions say just go to audio settings and make this these are default. You also have to scroll down to the bottom of the screen to select “send all sounds to headset”. The switch worked no fussing. The PC worked no fussing (plug and play). SOUND QUALITY: This is not going to replace your best audio headphones that you use while listing to music. But they do a good job. I’m listening to “The Wall” while I write this. Everything is clear. They are a little bass forward, but for gaming that is perfectly fine. If my favorite audio only headphones are “9/10”, then these are “7.5/10”. Considering they are also wireless that is pretty darn good in my opinion. (My other headphones are wired). For gaming, I can only compare them to my other XBOX headphones which happen to be from another vendor and cost about 50% more. These are lighter, these have better (easier) controls, and the other pair is wired instead of wireless, which makes these easier to use while gaming. The audio is a touch better on my XBOX headphones (maybe 8/10). BEST FEATURES: Flip up Mic = Mute Analog dials for volume and mic feedback adjustment Friendly to Eyeglass Wearers Wireless SUMMARY: I would recommend these to anyone looking for a good to very good wireless headphone experience for PS4/SWITCH/PC. If you are really picky about the best audio experience over wireless convenience, you might want to look for a higher end headset, but it will set up back 2x-3x more. The TURTLE BEACH STEALTH 600 GEN 2 FOR PLAYSTATION strikes a good balance between performance, features, and value.

Great headset for PS4, Switch, and future PS5 use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Turtle Beach is beginning to deliver a wave of headsets that are geared for the upcoming release of next-gen consoles, while maintaining backwards compatibility with current generations. This is the case with the PS4 version of the Stealth headset; which is not only compatible with Mac/PC, the Nintendo’s Switch console (more on that in a minute), but is also compatible with the upcoming Playstation 5. In the box you’ll find a white headset in a plastic bag (thank you for not covering this in peel layers), a short USB C charging cable, the dongle, and a small folder with the manuals & warranty cards. The box even has a piece of fabric attached on the top, making opening of the box really easy. The quick start guide included in the documents folder make understanding the features easy! You’ll also see something about “Superhuman hearing” mentioned on the marketing materials, and a long charge claim of 15 hours. Plugging this into the Playstation 4, the dongle was immediately recognized, and with the headset powered on, took only seconds to pair. The only annoying part of the dongle, is the small LED status light; which has a soft blink that can be a bit distracting in a dark room play scenario. Thankfully, I was able to move it to the back USB port, to avoid the distraction during longer gaming sessions without any loss in function or connectivity. The headset if fairly lightweight, making this easy to wear during prolonged gaming use, and the battery, in fact, did last about 14 hours before I needed to charge it again. The foam used on the headset is really soft, the ear phones on each side are easily tilted to provide better comfort & fit. They also do give way easily to glasses, as I wear blue blocking glasses to prevent eye strain, and never once felt like they were being pressed against my head. While these aren’t noise cancelling, you’ll get a bit of a passive effect here, as you put them on. There is just enough external noise for you to hear someone calling to you, or speaking in your general area. The included microphone quickly snaps back out of the way, and mutes the mic, or with mic monitoring turned up, allows you to monitor your voice during chat. It also makes for easy listening of the environment around your home or play area. This is honestly an unadvertised benefit of the mic monitoring feature; especially if you have kids and want to hear them call you across the house. I should point out that the mic monitoring volume doesn’t adjust the console’s chat volume, only your ability to hear yourself speak. The volume rocker, on the other hand, will adjust volume locally on your headset. Keep this in mind if you think it’s too low when turned all the way up. You can adjust the actual game audio within the volume settings on the console. I turned mine all the way up, and just used the volume on the headset with no noticeable loss in audio quality. You’ll also want to consider if you want audio output to a speaker system while playing, as the headphones will muffle out lower volumes. This is either a “Chat Only” or “All Game Audio” kind of headset, as this one lacks a TOSLINK/Optical connection to maintain separation of audio. If you set to “Chat only” that’s all the headset will provide, with game audio continuing on your external speakers. If set to all game audio, it will cut off any external audio over HDMI. I should note, the audio can be adjusted either in the game, or with the console settings if one is too loud for you. Game chat was very effective during a round of Rainbow Six. My fellow gamers were able to hear me clearly, and the mic monitoring ensured that I was speaking clearly. However, the headset isn’t adjustable like others, it sits stationary when pulled down. This isn’t a con at all, as the microphone does a really great job picking up audio. Players might even hear some background noise in your house, so the adjustable (flexible) microphone won’t be needed. You’ll hear an audible clicking noise when the microphone is pulled down, or pushed up when muted. So you won’t need to guess if people can hear you. The included USB C cable makes plugging in for charging with the console or an adapter easy, without a bunch of cable needing to be wound up after gaming. Nintendo Switch compatibility requires the dock with an available USB port for the dongle, and the switch in “dock mode”. It will work wirelessly, but will not work with Switch “Lite” models, since they lack the ability to dock or have any external USB devices connected. In my testing with an original Nintendo Switch, it didn’t require any additional setup, and was just plug and play. I do want to call out the “Superhuman Hearing” feature included with the headset. It’s easy to toggle (simply tap once on the power button), and when enabled does a great job of amplifying the sounds in the game. While playing “Last of Us 2” this was extremely helpful in-game while sneaking around infected, and listening for movement. I also have a bit of hearing loss in one ear due to a military injury, so I usually have to turn volume all the way up to hear 360 sound. This eliminated that need for me, and the directional audio was excellent during gaming; allowing me to pinpoint movement in specific directions. Anytime I needed it, it was just a tap away and you’ll notice the sound amplification almost immediately! This is probably my favorite feature on the headset! It’s also not so overpowering that you’ll feel the need to turn it off, or change the volume. The included EQ settings can be toggled using the “Mode” button on the headset. It provides a “signature” EQ setting, followed by Bass and Treble boosts, along with a “vocal” eq which works great for cinematic with a lot of ambient background noise. The bass boost is what I used frequently, and was pleasantly surprised with how great it sounded. It easily matched the audio of another much higher priced premium pair that includes a mixer. As with other features on the headset, you’ll hear a light tone for each setting you turn on. The EQ just adds extra tones for each EQ, until you go back to default; all of which work great! Overall, Turtle Beach really delivered on the Stealth headset! The price point is lower than other premium sets, and the features made gaming much more engaging (superhuman hearing is excellent). I can’t recommend this enough for PS4 and future PS5 owners!

Almost perfect.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this headset is pretty good however the chat sound could be better I previously used the Sony Gold headset since it was a wireless headset. It had good sound and chat quality was pretty good. I recently upgraded to the Astro A40’s which are wired but a vastly superior headset. These Turtlebeach’s are on the lower end of headsets I’ve used. The headset is really lightweight which is nice. It’s probably the lightest ones I’ve used and even after a 5 hour Destiny 2 grind, they felt really comfortable. For those with big heads like me, this headset felt a bit tight at the top. I wear a 7 3/8 fitted hat so anyone with a big head, this is something you’ll need to be aware of. While labeled a PS4 headset, these are plug-and-play on PC as well. Setup was super quick on PC so there is that. This headset charges via USB-C so they’re quick to charge and could be wired to your PS4/PC if you wanted to. All the controls are on the left side of the headset along with the boom mic. Pretty easy to get used to them as there is only a sound volume, chat volume dials, Mode/Preset selector and power button. The sound quality was pretty nice and robust. Crank up the volume and explosions and gun fire sound pretty beefy and has just enough bass in them. On full blast, the sound isn’t too loud however it provides just enough immersion in the game for a good experience. The chat quality was very good. Chatting with my teammates, they stated my voice came through loud and clear which was great. The main issue I had with the chat is the feedback you hear through your headset. There was a bit of hissing coming through the headset. The louder you raise the chat volume, the more hissing you get. With other headsets, you can hear your own voice crystal clear without any lag or anything. With this headset, your voice sounds like it’s coming from a tin can. It’s somewhat distracting since all the other sounds come through clear. Your own voice sounds like the mic is on the other side of the room. It’s sounds very distant and faint but still kind of distracting. Aside from this, the headset is really nice. Sound is pretty clear and the fit is mostly good for this headset. Battery wise, this headset has a pretty good charge time. I played 4-5 hours for 4 days and didn’t need to recharge. Having a USB-C connection, this charges up pretty quickly as well. Overall, this is a pretty good headset. The chat feedback/hissing is an issue for me. Had this not been an issue, this would be a really great headset for the price. The lightweight headset and easy connection make it a really nice travel or backup headset. If you’re a casual player, this should be a nice headset for you. For serious gamers, I think you’d prefer one of the higher end headsets over this one. This would be a great pickup if you can get it on sale or on Black Friday or something.

Classy Looks and Good Performance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Given the name it makes sense that the Stealth 600 doesn’t look like a typical gamer headset. Its looks are understated. There’s no RGB or aggressive styling demanding your attention. Just a lot of matte white surfaces and a few gunmetal accents. But don’t let that fool you. Turtle Beach has clearly put a lot of thought into trying to make this your go-to headset on the PS4 (and the upcoming PS5.) I’ve found a lot to like about the gear in the time I’ve spent with it so far beyond the design. While it’s pretty much all plastic the fit and finish is good enough to make it feel like a more premium device. The hinges around the ear cups are tight, the size adjustment is just stiff enough to hold its place without requiring you to force it, and it offers excellent noise isolation even when wearing it with glasses. They even thought to use a USB-C charging plug rather than the aging micro-USB most manufacturers seem to still be clinging to, so I don’t need to bother keeping a spare charger by the couch just for my headset anymore. I’d rate the sound quality as very good. An audiophile probably isn’t going to be impressed, but it’s as good as it needs to be for games and voice chat. Frequency response is good at both ends of the spectrum, and unlike a lot of cheaper headsets it won’t try to drown you in bass. You’ve got five built in options for tuning it as well – four equalizer settings and a “superhuman” setting which will try to enhance environmental audio cues like footsteps to give you a leg up. On the transmit side, I’d rate the mic as above average for gaming headsets, which is basically a polite way of saying it’s good enough. I wouldn’t want to run a stream with it as my only audio, but the people on the other side will have no difficulty understanding what you’re saying. And as a bonus, I can confirm that if you plug the dongle into your PC or phone it works there too, albeit support for features like software volume controls seems hit or miss. I certainly wouldn’t recommend buying it if you don’t have a PlayStation, but it’s still nice to know that if you (like me) game on multiple devices you don’t necessarily need to worry about having to buy a separate headset for each one. One additional note for anyone thinking about using it on Discord: when I tried it out during my weekly quarantine gaming night the Windows client was dropping audio constantly until I set a manual activation threshold and turned off echo cancellation. There are a few things that keep me from giving it a full five stars, however. First up is the control layout. There are two volume wheels located near the top of the left ear cup. One controls the headset volume, the other acts as a monitor for your own mic. They have the same texturing on the wheels, and are close enough together that even if you don’t mix up which one is which with your thumb it’s easy to accidentally nudge the wrong one while making adjustments. I found myself having to pay a lot more attention to what I was doing when adjusting my volume than I do with other headsets, which isn’t an ideal outcome for a product geared towards multiplayer gaming. Along similar lines to this is the fact that switching between the different audio modes only offers a series of beep codes as feedback rather than the verbal descriptions you get from a lot of wireless headsets these days, requiring you to memorize a chart to know what you’ve just done. Finally, though I’m guessing most have already guessed this after I mentioned the noise isolation, it has to be said that the ear cups are an absolute heat trap. It only took a few minutes after putting it on before my ears became noticeably warm. If you run hot or are just particularly temperature sensitive, I’m not sure how comfortable you’d be wearing this thing for a prolonged gaming session.

High End Headset at a Low End Price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own a lot of headsets for every console and PC. I own so many that it's become a point of contention with my wife, so when I give this Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 for PS4/PS5/Switch/PC five stars I truly believe it deserves it. I also happen to own a first generation Stealth 600 and Turtle Beach has outdone themselves with this redesign. Let's get to it. I'll be reviewing the headset as used on a PS4 Pro, so first thing's first, the USB dongle is tiny! This is much improved over other headsets on the market and the only drawback is that it might be easily lost. Once you plug in the dongle the headset will automatically pair up and you're good to go. There isn't any set up involved with this headset, unless you include connecting to it to a PC and checking for updates with the Turtle Beach app. As of this review there were no new firmware versions for this Gen 2 headset, but I find it pretty inconvenient to have to plug in a console headset to a PC in order to get a firmware update. The Stealth 600 is super comfortable and is way more comfortable than the previous iteration of this headset. The ear pads have been redesigned to fit better over your ears, the headset is super light and it just feels much better built than the original Stealth 600's that I own. Ear pads are foam covered in a soft fabric that didn't get sweaty even after hours of use. Battery life for this headset is rated at about 20 hours and I played for about 22 before my first charge, so I think that is pretty accurate. The sound is pretty great for a headset in this price range. Vocals come in clearly, mid and lows are nice and highs are fine until you turn it up too loud or turn on TB's "Super Human Hearing" which is used to amplify all sounds for competitive gaming or to induce headaches. My only complaint would be that other headphones do tend to sound a little richer, but they are also price well above this price. The microphone is superb on these. I've had no issues yelling at my friends to get out of the way while playing Fall Guys. They hear me just fine and I hear their cursing coming in clear as day. I have no issues with the microphone and enjoy that it folds into the unit unlike the generation 1 microphone boom that just kinda stuck out there awkwardly. Flip up to mute is a fantastic and natural option, all headsets should have this feature. Build quality and construction has been upgraded since the original version. The headband feels sturdier, the connection points more robust and the plastic casing doesn't creak like in my gen 1 headset. Overall I'd say that this headset is one of the better built one's I've used, even with the exception of a metal headband (you'll have to upgrade to the Stealth 700 for that). I see these lasting a good long while if you take care of them like the responsible person I know you are. So here's my quick pros and cons list for those that don't like to read. Pros: Comfortable Clear mic Small dongle Good build quality 20 hour battery life Good sound quality Cons: Audio quality could be richer No metal reinforced headband All things considering, even with the cons listed below, considering the price point of the Stealth 600 Gen 2, I have to give this headset 5 stars. It's a fantastic value for a true wireless headset with multiple system compatibility, good sound and a comfortable fit (even for big headed people like myself). If this unit were $50 more then it would fall in line with some stiff competition and my rating might change, but as of now this headset is my mid-range wireless pick for console and PC gamers alike

Teenage Girl Testing Team Seal-of-Approval
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Turtle Beach® Stealth™ 600 Gen 2 wireless gaming headset for the PS4 and upcoming PS5 (and Nintendo Switch) I decided to enlist some young family members (15 y/o girls) to weigh in on how successful this new Turtle Beach headphone was at entertaining our gamers. Game play predominantly used “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” and “Mario Cart-8 Deluxe” on the Nintendo Switch and Gravity Rush 2, Minecraft, and a shark game for the PS4 (Pro). So, after a few hours of play here’s what we learned. SETUP: According to the players, who set up everything on their own, these Turtle 600s have a nice sleek look to them out of the box, and that microphone was really neat. There was some concern about how rugged those ear “shells’” are. I’m betting they’ll tolerate some rough play, but could look scruffy over time. The USB C charging cable is welcome (and easy to replace). Connecting to the PS4 is really fuss-free. Don’t lose that “dongle” which is necessary to connect to your PS4. Sound can be modified using the mode button. They added, “The instructions could be clearer. (While) the instructions that came with headphones were specifically made for the PS4.. . . the box says that it is compatible with the Nintendo switch. Since it works with the Nintendo switch, there should be a more complete instructions explaining how to connect it to the Switch.” And, yet, game play was underway after some connection frustration and continued for hours. HOW DO THEY PERFORM and FEEL? The verdict from my teenage assistants matched my own: “The over ear headphone cushions are soft and comfortable with nice feel, especially for players like me who will play for hours in one sitting, … (and wear glasses)." “The audio is clear. I did like that (the snug ear pads) blocked out most of the noises that didn’t come from my games.” “They are a little heavy on the head.” “I had a strong connection to my console with the headphones on up to 30 feet. After 30 feet the connection was crummy.” “The things that I did like the most of these head phones were the controls on the side that allow you to change the volume, the over the ear cushions and the top of the head cushion and that you are able to talk to other players through the built in microphone (which I was not able to test).” They can get loud. Play time from a full charge is unusually lengthy, looking like it’ll go for days considering the way we play, easily between12-15 continuous use hours. The array of controls on the left ear shell is really busy, including microphone volume control, overall volume, mode switch, and power all under where the hand falls, even when simply putting the headphones on. And, yet, it’s easy enough to figure out where everything is because Turtle Beach didn’t try to be subtle about switch control height or size. We’re here, we’re obvious, and you’ll figure it out. Yep. They’re right. I was able to spend some time listening for myself and testing still other features with some undocumented use. [ Surprise hidden feature: Nowhere in the descriptions or instructions is any mention made of a Mac computer compatibility. So, this isn’t a recommendation, just an observation from a guy who likes to experiment. Plugging that Turtle “dongle” into my USB accessory device of my MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019) and I was able to have my Mac recognize the Turtle Headphones. My “SOUND” settings show the Turtle dongle and I selected it for INPUT and OUTPUT. I now have Al Green crooning and Sade delivering some nice tunes. (Yes, I’m old.) I could cycle through the sound modes, but it was never apparent if I was changing anything. (But, remember, it’s not a supported device.) Really detailed; nice satisfying bass and a sound that is very appealing. The voice region stood out and was super clear. it’s easy to understand why this should meet the needs of gamers. I even made a FaceTime call! I had a great conversation; the microphone was working exactly as designed . . . Go figure. My voice was exceptionally clear according to my wife at the other end of the call, and her voice was easy to hear for me. All volume controls worked perfectly as did the mute feature. I offer these observations as a test of the usefulness of the microphone as well as the clarity and quality of the headphones. Again, these are undocumented features. ] RECOMMENDATION: My teenage girl testing team had a positive reaction to these nicely featured gaming headphones. These headphones make it comfortable and convenient. My time using the microphone for conversations and listening to non-gaming programming like music reveal that these are unusually high quality, nice sounding gaming headphones. Turtle Beach doesn’t short-change gamers in the listening quality department. Recommended.

Great Gaming Headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Stealth 600 is a great headset. The pairing was simple and smooth. After a full charge the battery lasted about fourteen hours. the sound quality is simply amazing. The control buttons are conveniently located. The microphone is expels clearly and the flip up to mute is my favorite function. Turtle Beach has a great reputation for producing excellent gaming headphones and the Stealth 600 is o exception. The headphones are light and comfortable - especially helpful with long stint on the game. I am impressed and glad I decided on these headphones for my Play Station 4.

My first set the microphone became very staticy and then stopped working. Would be great if they would last. I won’t buy a 3rd set.
