Works great. The noise level is low. The odors are very little if you run it instead of keeping the bucket filled for several days. I can’t wait to ad it to my garden. I bought this on sale.

I've just purchased this machine and so far processed half-a-dozen batches containing everything from coffee grounds, tea bags and loose tea to raw vegetables. In spite of the producer advising to wait one week for the process to make the waste ready for the garden it definitely looks like it's ready The results have fully met my expectations: We now put no waste at all down the garbage disposal and hardly anything other than paper in the trash. I highly recommend it.

i was a little skeptical as i have been looking for a long time for something like this, this is more affordable, smaller and does more than the other unit i was looking at. i have to say this foodcycler is awesome! its so quiet and goes through its cycles with minimum smells and has been a BIG help to cut down with my organic trash and with stuff my pets cant or wont eat (i have dogs and guinea pigs) my young kids love how wer "helping out" by recycling more in our house and saving whats left for our garden. we absolutly love it and highly recommend!

Works as advertised. I have packed all sorts of food waste in it and it is reduced to a small amount of “dirt” in about 4 hours. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because of the amount of power it uses.

Very satisfied with my Vitamix-FoodCycler FC-50. Works great, very quiet, no odors, not messy, Easy to use, just push the power button. Can't wait to start using the compost in the spring.

Good product - composting without the need of the worms = clean composting + good fertilizer for your plants. But dealing with FedEx/ Best Buy became a headache. 1 - I ordered the product to be delivered to my home 2 - FedEx driver left the box in Rain and went away - not even knocking on the door or keeping it on the dry porch 3 - I returned the product to Best Buy and asked them to get me a fresh piece 4 - Best Buy Bloomingdale staff was dumb enough - to not see that the package they were giving me was the one I had returned. They did not even care to remove the original labels... Finally, they did the right thing... but Best buy - Want to remain relevant? Look at how you treat your customers - especially Elite ones!

Quiet and efficient machine. Only drawback is the size of the bucket is small so we end up running a cycle every 2 days. However, overall it does what its supposed to.

Amazing results in just a few hours. I put compost in it each night and wake up to compost! Dry and no smell , thank you! only drawback is that it is smaller than I imagined so use it almost nightly.

Easy to use and does what it says. We use it to add dry compost to an already established bin. Run it overnight and it’s quiet!

This is a good convenience solution. But it does require energy, which means it's not as eco-friendly as letting the sun do the composting. I measured with a Kill-a-Watt energy meter, and running one cycle was a little less than a kWH (which I think is what they say on the eco cycle web site). You also want to price in the cost of filters. Another word of advice, we had some bananas that we let go way too long and I threw 3 of them into the composter. The resulting "compost" must have been too sugary, because a wad of brown stuck up the motor and the light was flashing red. But I was able to disassemble the bin, clean it out, and now it's running fine again.

It's a large, heavy device and it was difficult to find a place to put it for easy access. I didn't have a problem with the amount of time it took to process and I thought the final product was kind of cool. We put it on our plants and ALL of them developed mold (indoor and outdoor). We had to re-pot them. If we can't use the final product for compost, I don't see the point in buying an expensive machine just so we can add processed organic matter to our compost bin to be picked up by the trash company. We had little choice but to return it and purchase a countertop wastebin.

I discovered this on a Facebook post titled “things you never knew about and now you can’t live without” Sooooo true. We have a house at the lake with no garbage disposal and no trash service unless you pay extra. So we have to tote all of the nasty trash food home. This thing is magic. We throw everything in it. Just make sure you don’t over fill it. But it dries it, grinds it and basically turns it into breadcrumbs. With ZERO bad odor. Start it and it’s done in about 4 hours. So before bed is the best time. I cannot imagine NOT having one now!!

This composter is the best. Sure beats throwing your food waste in the garbage and adding to the landfill. Every little bit helps the environment. This also turns your food waste into food for your plants. Win win in my opinion. Get yourself one.....your plants and the earth will love you for it.

I use this almost everyday and I love it! I was really hating putting food in the trash for the smell and the environment. It can even handle chicken wings. I did mussel shells once and it could handle it but left some scratches inside so not recommended. I don’t do gardening (yet) so the compost goes to my backyard grass. They look happy!

Takes a lot of the though process out of what to do with food waste. Putting it right back into our garden is always a nice feeling and the Tomatoes and Jalapeños we got this season were noticeably more colorful and much bigger yield. There are some times we have to run it on two cycles because not everything breaks down in the first one, but usually its whole banana peels or overloaded in those situations.

This is one of the greatest products created by VitaMix and is worth every penny. For the most part it is a quiet appliance. It does take some hours to produce the compost, but it is worth it. I have used the compost for my vegetable and flower gardens. I recommend this product for anyone wanting to enrich their soil in their landscaping.

Living in Hawaii rotting compost attracts flies and smells nasty. Enter the Foodcycler. Fill it up, turn it on, and a few hours later you have dried compost with no smell, that keeps until you want to use it. Brilliant.

Love this! I can now turn food scraps into compost overnight! Amazing contraption. We have it parked on our porch just outside our back door, so I can’t comment on the noise level, nor any odor as some reviews. I can say a paper towel wrapped around an apple core or a paper coffee filter of used grounds becomes compost along with the food scraps.
