This is overall a great package but my ultimate score would be a 4.5/5 because in my opinion it is not "The Complete Story" as it says. I wish there was some way to still watch the Theatrical cut of this film (this version inclues the Ultimat cut on 4K and the Director's Cut on Blu but no Theatrical). Also, a commentary by the director that was previously included in a blu-ray bundle has not been ported over to this 4K upgrade which is a little disappointing. Otherwise, it includes everything else and looks great.

Am a sci-Fi girl so am glad I purchased this movie.

What a amazing movie and it at great price........

Watchmen is a great movie. Very faithful to the source material while making some necessary changes. Reviewing it as a 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray though, it falls a bit short. First, the obvious. 4K Blu-Ray is expensive. It's nice that it comes with standard Blu-Ray disks too, but it's still a lot to pay (especially for a movie I already own). Second, the transfer of this movie, while done well, is unfortunately upscaled to 4K. This is especially noticable when the movie attempts to meld CGI with real footage. This is not the studio being lazy with the transfer, but rather the fault of the movie itself only being originally mastered in 2K (like most older movies, and still a lot of new movies). Unfortunately, there's no discount for not being "true" 4K.

Having recently watched the HBO series, I thought I would purchase this movie and give it another viewing. My original viewing was in theaters when it was released and I did not really understand the movie at the time. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie this time around. My viewing partner in this case seemed to have a similar experience to mine the first time through. She felt that it was unnecessarily long and difficult to stay engaged. The action scenes are gripping, but few and far between. I watched this on my Sony A9G and found the video quality to be quite impressive, however, not up to speed with some more modern films.

This purchase was probably the best value for a Bluray that I've bought in a long time. 1) It was only $6.99 2) It came $8 towards seeing Batman vs. Superman 3) A Cool and sturdy Steelbook design and 4) It includes the definitive version of the film. If you can do without the Ultimate Set with the Hardcover book and other goodies, this is the version of the movie. While the Theatrical Cut is good, this 3 1/2 hour Director's Cut is amazing. As a bold and true retelling of the Graphic Novel, it is visually striking and translated fantastically. The entire second disc includes extensive featurettes that compliment the influence of the Watchmen in comics, modern vigilantism and commentary on society. Very recommended!

Not what i was suspecting but the movie had some good scenes but just wasnt into it

This is the ultimate cut of the movie in 4k, including the animated portions. There is no seamless branching to the directors cut or the original cut. Instead they are relegated to Blu-ray discs. The 4k image is great, if a bit too dark. I would score this higher if it were not for the fact that the package includes a hodgepodge of prior released materials while leaving some out. This is NOT a definitive release despite being called the Ultimate Cut. If you can get past that, the release quality itself is topnotch. No new materials here however.

The story was good. The soundtrack was ok nothing memorable. Didn’t really care for the hero's except Rorschach and Dr. Manhattan. They were my favorite and only tolerable characters. I wanted to see Snyders earlier work on supes which is why I bought it. Its one of those movies you need to rewatch a couple of times to TRULY understand it. Although im sure it wont come close to Man of Steel or Batman v Superman UE. They are masterpieces and soon to come is Zack Snyders Justice League. Anyways id recommend still give it a chance.

I saw this in the movie theater but I had not read the graphic novels back then. Now I am rewatching this again and It is a really awesome movie. Especially now that the HBO show is out. I have to say that I am disappointed in the 4K Ultra HD picture quality, if you pause it you will see the grainy image. However It is hard to compare this to new movies shot using new 4k cameras. The long version is LONG but that's why you are buying it! It is quite a masterpiece, great actors for each of the characters.

This movie is so under appreciated, I will never understand why people did not like this movie. If you haven't seen this movie please watch it, and if you have seen this movie and didn't like it you should give it another try. I think the movie came out at the wrong time, I believe that if it would have come out this year, it would have been a bigger hit. The cast in this movie is really good. Jackie earle Healy as Rorschach, Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the comedian, billy crudup as dr Manhattan, Patrick Wilson as nite owl, and many others all kick a**in this movie.

I really enjoyed the Watchmen. I did it backwards, I read the comic AFTER watching the movie. I have to say, I've never seen a movie stay so close and true to the source material, whether comics or books. It's a miracle! Movie is really great, but don't be surprised if it takes a few viewings to take everything in. It's a modern day epic, and the comic is brilliant. The steelbook is my favorite version as it just looks awesome! I definitely recommend the comic and movie. Very unique and visually beautiful experience.

Tremendous big-screen translation of the legendary graphic novel. After so many years of hearing about it, I made sure I finally read the book before the movie came out. Film couldn't include every aspect of the original story, and alters some elements of the plot, but I didn't feel disappointed over any of the omissions or changes. Despite reported unhappiness by author Alan Moore, I think the movie is an excellent adaptation of the source. It is altogether a great entertainment, exciting, dramatic, thought-provoking, and visually stunning.

Overall this is a pretty good film adaptation of the legendary graphic novel with the same name. It's not perfect and certainly has it's issues as far as capturing the feel of the novel however that certainly doesn't carry over to the visual department what so ever. This film is visually stunning in every aspect which is wonderfully transferred over in this bluray release in an equally gorgeous steelbook case all around with the original comic book cover art and inlay artwork. For $8.99 this is a steal and i would highly recommend it.

I'm a little disappointed in WB for only releasing the Ultimate Cut (the nearly unwatchable, 3 1/2 version) in 4k. I don't mind having The Ultimate Cut in 4k, for occasional viewing, however I feel WB should have also offered either the theatrical or directors cut in 4k as well. Also, the movie redeems only the Ultimate Cut in 4k. So basically I just bought something I'll barely watch and have to rebuy it again if they ever have the other cuts available in 4k.
