Even if you've seen this before, it's a remarkably engrossing movie, Probably because of its amazing cast. It's also a movie that takes its time, introduces its heroes and makes their moral compasses very clear. I don't know the future of steelbook collectiblities but the buy price on the Watchmen was low enough I figured I'd take a stab. I liked the packaging. And I was originally going to use the free ticket to Superman Batman, but didn't so left it sealed. I have a regular copy of Watchmen with a PS3 game inside. The movie is a good reflection of the comic and definitely is not your average Spidey or Bat film. But if you want a fun ADULT ride hop on board I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did. And if you do then by all means pick up the original graphic novel.

The movie's plot is cramming lots of material and because of that, the story is not very interesting to non-fans. But it definitely has style in its presentation.

I really enjoy this movie and the ultimate cut is the way to go for sure. I love how they weave in the black freighter story at various points throughout the watchmen story breaking it up. I felt like having both stories going on kept the movie more enjoyable and kept my attention throughout considering how long the movie is. 4K picture looks fantastic especially on the scenes when the comedian gets thrown then the window at the beginning and you can see all the little fragments of glass in slow mo and Rorschachs face looks awesome as well.

I didn't even realize when I went to see this in the theater that it was DC characters, nonetheless I enjoyed the variety of unique heroes, and those not so unique! I wish it had done well enough to spawn a sequel or prequel. Picking this up for $6.99 with an $8 movie pass to the new Batman v Superman actually turns a small profit. There is no free digital copy which is disappointing, but you do get a nice metal collectors case and they paid me to take it out of the store basically, so I withdraw my complaint.

The cinematography alone in this movie is worth the experience. With this being my first 4K Blu-ray purchase, it says a lot! Although I've been reading this is simply an upscaled 4K version of the 1080P Blu-ray which I'm sure is the case as most movies were not being shot in 4K cameras at the time. This is still a great version of the already cult classic Watchmen film! Highly recommended for fans of the movie and looking to get a better quality picture with their collection. :)

I recommend this to anyone who loves the theatrical cut of the film and anyone who hasn’t seen the film! I do prefer the directors cut more because of the animation on the ultimate cut but nonetheless this is an amazing version of the movie! It arrived in perfect condition.

The director's cut runs about 25 minutes longer, and incorporates more elements from the comics and more violence. Some of the previous scenes are reworked with additional dialogue. Overall, the story line and conversations are better fleshed out, and this version is truer to the comics. The largest additional addition is that of Hollis Mason's death, which is spectacularly directed to the score of the Intermezzo from the opera Cavalleria Rusticana (think Godfather III).

This was a great movie, I had never read any of the comics before seeing it. The plot of this movie is deep and entertaining at the same time. The only problem that I had with the movie is there is a male character that shows full frontal nudity for many different scenes of the movie. I understood that this was an R rated movie but it just seemed like it was not needed and just something that the director or whoever could get away with because that is now acceptable in an R rated movie.

The one thing that works against this film is that it isn't the book it was inspired by. But there isn't a film that could stack up to that graphic novel. Snyder still did a bang up job with the visuals as if we were placed into the storyboards of the book. The opening credits alone show great flare and catch us up on the back story. Jeffrey Dean Morgan & Jackie Earl Haley are both fantastic and fit their roles perfectly. Some aspects are a little over the top and on the nose (like the music), but the movie works as a whole.

Not as noticeable an upgrade over the standard bluray release due to their use of an upscaled 2k master, but still a worthy addition to the collection! Image differences are more subtle due to the intentionally muted color pallet of the film, but really show in the animated sequences, or whenever Dr Manhattan is on-screen. The use of the upscaled 2k master does show limitations with some effects, like Rorschach's mask, but it isn't too distracting.

Watching movies in 4K shows an amazing amount of detail, but it can also tend to make otherwise "cinematic" movies look like they were shot on video, which gives it a less "dreamworld" feel. I feel that has happened with Watchmen. Also, despite loving the comic series, I don't think that the addition of the comic-in-a-comic story actually added to the movie version, but it is cool that they tried. Still a good movie, but could have been done better.

I read the comic when it came out, and when the story was out in the big screen, I was very impressed with how great job Zack Snyder did. So therefore, I wanted to bring the same experience home, to my living room. When I watched this movie on my 4k UHD TV, I was very pleased to find out how much better definition, sharper details, and wonderful clarity help to make me feel that I was watching the movie once again at the theater.

I had previously purchased the blu ray disk, but when I saw it was available in 4k I decided to repurchase. The 4k version is a noticeable improvement so I"m glad I bought it. I was a little disappointed to find that one of the versions in this set is still the HD blu ray and not 4k I was a little disjointed, but overall I'm still satisfied.

Watchmen is an incredibly dark and philosophically rich film that both dissects and parodies superhero films. With the current influx of Adam and Marvel films I would argue it's satire is more relevant today than it was when it came out. The directors cut is the superior cut without a doubt as you get to spend even more time these fascinating characters. The film is also one of the most visually stunning of the 21st century.

I barely had taken the chance to watch this movie and i must say for the most part its pretty good the action is pretty intense withing a superhero movie...i just thought it kinda dragged on a bit and some scenes were pointless not too mention kinda long so if you have time on your hands and are just bored then try this movie out you might like it....just make sure not to have your children watch it with you i made a small mistake lol

In an alternate US Superheroes have been banned. But when a murder occurs they start to get involved when one of their own goes down. Action based movie for those who want a smarter themed movie. You have to pay attention but the Payoff is great. Based on a great comic series of novels. This is the must have Ultimate 4K edition.

If you're a fan of the movie - which stands on its own, regardless of your views on the superhero genre - you'll love this edition. It's an excellent moral tale, and most people should find a character they most identify with: in my case, I believe, Rorschach. Plus, since your TV doesn't have to do the work to upscale, you'll enjoy fluid motion and life-like quality.

The first time that I saw this film, I was blown away. I was unfamiliar with the characters and the story, and just decided to give it a try. This is not your typical super hero movie. This one is DC Comics, but has a Marvel feel. Definitely a great story with some unexpected twists and turns.

There is slight but noticeable difference in sharpness on the 4K version compared to the 1080 blu ray, but the 1080 blu ray was already a pretty good transfer, nevertheless, the 4K is a solid picture. The movie itself. It kind of grows on you. When I saw Watchmen in the theaters i was so-so about it, but upon repeat viewings you get the gist of it. You either love it or hate it.
