with its 2TB capacity and able to access it from anywhere, makes it great, I store all my stuff on this, and when I go on VACA and fill all my memory cards , I can log into this up load my stuff free up my memory cards and go back to capturing life memories, very easy to use

I did a lot of research on this product and though it was exactly what I needed. I am terrified of loosing pictures. And I have ALOT of pictures. The good thing is how much storage this has to offer, the bad part is how slow it takes to upload anything to it. Also, the only reason why I kept it was because it has the option to make automatic backups of all of your backups. Meaning I can hook another external drive to this to either give it more storage or I can make safe points of all my stored pictures or documents.

Easy set up and great apps to go with this storage device for Apple and android devices. No complaints here.

I'm running Windows 10, sometimes when I try to connect to the device I receive a message that it cannot be located. I would recommend the product with reservations.

The product is simple to set up and spund. I have 0 issues with it and was up and running in about 5 minutes.

Note that I am using Ubuntu Linux on my laptop, so these remarks may or may not apply to users on Windows or Mac. So this thing is basically a stripped down Linux server with a single, large hard drive and a built-in web server. You can access the system on your local network with desktop or mobile apps, or directly via the built-in web server . Your data can also be made available over the web from anywhere with a little additional set up. I have played with the cloud access and it seems to work fine, though it's a little slow. I haven't used it for anything serious, so I can't make any further comments. I've been using the device as a media server as well as a network attached backup device. It serves fairly well in both cases. It's fast enough to serve as a media streaming device, and I've never had any issues streaming full-HD video over my N-class wireless. But it's a bit slow when doing my weekly backups, transfer drops as low as 3MB/sec when moving files over the wireless network. The shares on the device are exposed as Windows Shares, and I am accessing them with a Linux laptop. This could be the cause of the less-then-stellar performance, and a bit of tweaking may help. My backups run unattended at night so it hasn't been an issue for me. I'm very happy with this NAS device. You can't beat it for the price.

The WD external storage cloud is easy to use. Glad I purchased it to back up all of my pictures and files.

The My Cloud was easy to get up and running. Including opening up my network panel, it took about 5 minutes to have it up and running. There is web-based software as well as software for Apple and Android devices. Fairly easy to access the My Cloud from any internet point. The one bad about it, which I never have seen documented is that you are tied to the WD network. When the WD network had problems during March of 2014, you cannot access your drive. In addition, it may need to be reset or re-booted after WD gets the network problems corrected. Since I was 2000 miles away and could not reset, I did not have access for 3 weeks.

I've purchased many hard drives for backup and I have to say this one is the easiest to setup and use.
