A bit tricky to setup but once connected it works like a breeze allowing us to store data on the network like pictures and documents that are always such a pain to transfer when you purchase a new computer. We store everything on the network and then access via any device!

I'm not very tech savvy. It uploaded all my pics with no problem. Just not used to the navigation. I downloaded the app too. I have had no issues with the performance. I can look at pictures from anywhere

Although the documentation is lacking , i networked mapped the device and assigned the path as a file history device in Windows10 and it works as expected. This also freed up a lot of room on dropbox and the other cloud storage . WI-FI access is a bit slow as heavily populated directories takes several (3-8) seconds to load the list. Once loaded picture and video display is wi-fi dependant. I use 5Ghz jst fine

It took me awhile to install it. I'm an IT person but not an expert. Yet I find it not user friendly at all. It does save my files but not as user friendly as I hope it would be. I cannot make folder on the device. No option to customize destination folders. I may have to spend more time to read instruction or do research.

Got this to add to our wireless network to store music for sonos system. Was easy to set up and access through my Mac book. I am ripping my CD collection to this drive and it has worked without a problem. May also start backing up a PC to this since there is plenty of storage space for our simple needs. Did not use the cloud connection as we have metered internet service and did not want to use up our monthly allocation.

This is a great idea for extra storage space and it appears to work just fine. I saw a bunch of people say how much of a pain it was to set up and I would have to agree, you would think it would be a breeze. Other than the setting up part, it a nice piece.

Easy Setup and Use For Wireless Network Storage

Easy to setup and use as a wireless network storage device at a good price. Has good access speed to my music and video file library as well as storage for digital pictures and computer backups. The WD drive replaced another brand's 2TB device that had slow access and required constant rebooting. So far, after 2 mos, am very pleased with this product.

For the price this works fine. It is not super fast but then I don't have Gigabit ethernet either. Works fine copying small chunks of data (8 - 10 gb) but when I tried to copy 70 gb of files in one session it hung up. If you leave it open in explorer with out activity it will time out and be unavailable. If you close the window and open it up again it works fine. Has worked great every time from my cell phone. Setup is not intuitive. Technical skills a definite bonus. Needed support on 2nd day and they were very helpful.

I was using (still am) Livekiv for my automatic file backup. I read about this product and thought it might be easier and faster to do local backup and have full control. Livekiv is online backup tool. The UI for this wasn't the most user friendly so I only can imagine if you don't understand basic computers you will be lost. If you wanted to do manual backup, copy and paste your files then it's fast and a breeze, the device will show as another drive. But if you like me wanting auto backup, whenever a file is changed, added or modified you want it to back it up in background then this was a pain. My cloud took a day per PC to set this up vs copy and paste files in less than 60 min. I understand it needs to create special "tracking" files to know what changed but a day!!! After all is set then you don't worry about it. The app to access your files while away from your home is great, this too not a breeze to figure out.
