I set this up very quickly. I put all my music on it along with photos and still have a ton of room left over. The phone app automatically puts new photos on the drive when I am home on my wifi (which I set up as an option). Love the fact that no matter if my computer crashes or my phone dies, all of my photos, movies, and music are safe. Great product, easy setup and use.

It's great to have access of all my files wherever I am without the annual fees and smaller space limitation of a dropbox or similar. But it's not that great as a music player. Yes, I have access to all my music but the interface needs a LOT of work. The music player is not very user friendly nor does it do what I would like it to do. (which would be to behave like an iPod) Hopefully a program update will fix this in the future. As it is,my family, including teens, has given up on using it as a music player. Also, a desktop based picture program like Picasa will not recognize it as a source for pictures. So I had to get a dedicated external attached harddrive for pictures. So Picasa would be able to recognize the drive as a source. Other than that its nice to have a private cloud of 2TB.

very easy to setup, great price for 2tb. unfortunately, network firewall means I can't access from remotely, but that isn't WD fault.

I was hoping I would be able to use this with Carbonite, but it isn't compatible. Hence 4 stars. Probably not the issue with the item though. I did like it well enough that I returned it to the store and got the 4T version. I use this in conjunction with a 4T external drive and keep them in sync so I have a back up of videos of my family.

Bought this to backup my MacBook wirelessly. Setup was easy. Only issue is the speed of initial download. For the money, you can't beat it. Definitely recommend this for anyone needing to backup your computers. Extremely easy to setup with my Apple products.

Because I use a laptop for work (I work remotely) I wanted a wireless backup system. The Best Buy employee helped me narrow down to the WD Cloud. Setup was super easy and you don't even know it there's. Everytime there's a change to a file it is automatically backed up. I can back up our smart phones and our kids' PC too.

Works great, affordable storage. The only difficulty was getting port sharing on my router but tech support helped me with that. For remote sharing every once in a while I have to re boot my router and the cloud but I think it's a router issue.

Although not the most intuitive application set up, once set up, this system just runs automatically in the background making sure all your data is safely backed up. Being a 'personal' cloud makes your data easy to retrieve from a variety of external devices without sacrificing security. This is a great value!

I have a lot of music files and was looking to free them from my desktop computer, and I also needed more space. This wifi drive can be accessed by any of my phones or tablets in the house or yard or over the internet from afar. There are a few things I would improve to make it perfect, but those are really software issues that android players have with network devices. I highly recommend!!

I bought this with hopes that I could keep all my digital movies (.mp4 files) off of my MacBook Pro, but still utilize wireless 1080p quality through my Apple TV on my 60" Sharp! GREAT NEWS, it works! I simply transfer all my movie files (MUCH faster via Ethernet than wifi, obviously) from my MacBook hard drive to the MyBook, find the file location through iTunes and voila! This is EXACTLY what I had hoped for, with a simple GUI to go boot! My ONLY issue is that I sometimes can't locate the MyCloud through Finder on my MacBook and I have yet to verify if it's Apple's fault, or Western Digital's, but that's the only issue, and it's not a big one!

I was looking for an external hard drive to backup my imac and some other equipments. The idea was to have all the backups in there. This WD my cloud is not just another external HD... is like it promises my own cloud. I used it like time capsule and no problem! but also copied all my important info, videos and pics, and i can access them from everywhere and from several equipments. From control panel can manage who can access what... excellent.

Love the WD Cloud Storage Drive. It works great. Pay attention to the directions and it is easy to setup. If you have lots of files, pictures etc - do as the instructions note and hardwire and transfer over. Do not do wirelessly or it will take forever. Love being able to access the drive from work or anywhere. Great deal and looking forward to see how I can setup outside sharing permissions to have friends upload pics that they took to my drive so I can back up and save.

I purchased this item to try to keep all my photos etc in ONE place. It is difficult trying to find everything if stored if different places. I have not connected this storage as yet, but the instructions are simple and you can access from anywhere on any device... thats what I need.

The MyCloud is my PERFECT solution for data safety

I was looking to close all of my cloud accounts and the great guy at BestBuy helped me understand that one alternative to closing "cloud accounts" is to establish your own cloud. After guiding me through the logic, he pointed me to MyCloud, which was on sale. Together we reviewed my total data storage size and he pointed me toward the 4T size: a great economical purchase that will serve me for quite awhile. I love it because I can access my data (very securely) from my various tablets and my iPhone. Now, I'm putting most of my data, media and archival on MyCloud. And the great thing: when I leave for vacation or business travel, I simply rename and repassword the system and it remains very secure so I can access no matter when I am. I would recommend it to anyone who's looking to close commercial cloud accounts and maintain something more secure. Set up a VPN, and it's doubly secure whenever you access it. WD/MyCloud gets my vote for making perfect sense in a personal-tech world.

Product works great with fairly easy setup. The only thing I can say negative is that in order to transfer data to the hard drive it has to be done through the network. If you want to do it directly from the computer it takes some figuring out. Overall I'm happy with this product

WD My Cloud is a good option to store your content online with a fairly easy to use interface and a reliable connection to various devices. In order to have a more stable connection, you must do port forwarding on your router or else everything is going to pass through wd's servers.

I am no tech savvy, and this back up system was easy to set up with my Mac laptop. I wish there was a way to auto save files without having to "save as" and "replace" original documents. Other than that it has been reliable and easy to access remotely.
