People complain about slow speed but this drive is fast it depends how you are connected wireless always going to be slow thats just how it is, not the drive thats slow its your network

I bought this unit to attach some extra storage on my network for my family to share. It works well, as can be expected. I'm not interested in using the 'personal cloud' or backup/restore capabilities, but, in my superficial browsing of those features, they look pretty good.

Accessing this over my home network is fast. It feels like I am accessing a local drive on my pc. Setup can be a little tedious but it is worth it.

This backup to home computer is necessary but it wasn't easy to set up. Watched the videos and all. Have never figured out how to regularly backup.

I have never been able to get my account to work, not on this model nor the ones before it. So, I just use the Public section. It's not secure, but it sure is easy.

This is a good product for data storage and backups but uploads are slow into the drive even while using WD sync. Google drive uploads are much faster.

I bought this item to backup after my USB HDD failed. Great option for a network HDD where all devices can access data, music and videos.

It's a great product! I was expecting it to be easier to set up and use but it takes some time. There are a lot of youtube videos that will help you.

My wife and I have multiple hard drives with important files on each one. This one made it very easy to consolidate with no concern about free space available.

I tried something like this a few years ago and it was too complicated to auto sync and it slowed down my computer so I just copied and pasted. Not any more. WD nailed it. Works in the background and does what it promised without slowing down my computer.

I bought this after filling up my 1GB external hard drive and not entirely sure how it works. I haven't been able to set anything over to it yet.

Works well but I couldn't really figure out yet to use it the way I wanted to, have to spend more time with it again

This is a nice option to having to carry a portable device. Can be accessed from anywhere for pics or docs and to back up phone when needed.

We are pleased w/it so far. The ability to access files remotely is phenomenal.

Set up the cloud and downloaded software for both my MAC and PC, which is in the basement on a wireless network. There were several You Tube videos and a manual on line I used for help. I dragged an external drive folder into the My Cloud folder but could never find or access where the photos were stored. After playing with it for several weeks I was able to locate the external drives photos. I think this could have been easier

I used the drive for NAS to support an HDHomerun broadcast TV server and it worked great. A little cumbersome as a network drive.

Love this product. My phone was so full of videos and pics that every time I took a new pic a lack of storage warning would pop up. I bought this product, transferred my photos and now I can take pics with no problem and without deleting anything that I already have on.

This has the external USB port of which I took a spare external hard drive to set as a backup of my backup! Most external NAS do not have this for this price range.

This is my second Western Digital NAS. They are not the fanciest units available on the mark, nor do they have as many features as some other brands. But for the money this is a good quality NAS for someone that just needs network storage.
