I'll start this out by saying I havent had a NAS device before. This was a first for me. I didn't find the GUI very user friendly. It indicated for me that you would need to sign up for an account in order to use the device. I just wanted it for home network use, and this was cheaper than the other options. It works OK but I think it could be a lot easier to use.

Purchased this for my mother who is not very tech savvy and it was a snap for her to install and setup.

There is a problem that WD promises will be coming. That is a software fix to stop it from dropping from my network. If they resolve this, this will be a fantastic personal cloud. If not, it is a very labor intensive, unreliable drive! Would I recommend it, well if they fix the problem, yes.

Great. Able to access from anywhere. Info always available if the internet is. No search necessary.

Wish the software was easier to navigate. Serves its purpose, though.

Not as user friendly as pervious Seagate unit, but couple of calls to WD tech support got me setup.

Recently bought this to back up photos and videos..despite the mixed reviews and so far it has been great. Automatically backs up my photos daily as long as my wifi is on and the speed is fairly quick.

This device works so well that most people ask how I got the picture and from where? Showing them how simple it is and the privacy of having your own cloud resonated great with my peers! Keep up the great innovations WD!!!

Great unit. I'm hoping they will come out with a firmware update that will allow it to work similar to Google Drive.

Works flawlessly. Needed to share files across multiple platforms and we kept losing connections between our PC & mac computers. Install took about 30 sec. and we can now share all the files we want.

Took a fair amount of time to set up. Ended up calling support number for assistance. Works well

All members of our family have a space to backup information without having to have an external disc for everyone. It is also interesting the fact that we can access to that info from wherever we are and from any device.

I wish the setup guide had mentioned possible firmware update needed for recent Safari upgrades.

This is a pretty good backup/file sharing solution for your average user. The iTunes server feature is nice.

This is a really great product for backing up your computer. It is important to know your data can be retrieved if your computer has a issue. Peace of mind.

Bought this to try out home network storage. using it to hook up to router via wall connects. It works well on networked connected items etc to backup and stuff. i like it recommend

This external hard drive is great for storage and I have had no issues with it so far.
