I originally purchased the cloud based system, but felt uncomfortable when the initial set up emails never arrived in my inbox. I returned the cloud based hard drive and purchased the wired hard drive. Was easy to set up.

My wife was excited to get the Cloud Storage, but we have been disappointed with it thus far. I set it up easy enough, but issues with finding the items I put on it. I see them there, but cannot open them. Also pop-ups all day about transfer issues. Seems very unstable.

Don't buy had 2 of the fail in less then a month smh

I found this product to be difficult to setup and operate. I tried to back up the files on one laptop computer. The drive worked all night and when I got up the next morning the machine still wasn't done. I plan to sell it.

I had many problems especially with photos. I will not use the device to sync with my computers, since I spent hours working with an Apple computer technology expert to retrieve lost photos after syncing with this device.

This did not meet my needs & I ended up bringing it back. I did not like the web based file transfer. Not only was it NOT used friendly access to all my drives was not possible

I recently bought this because my Dropbox memory is about to expire. I use it a lot because I take a lot of photos/video, thought of purchasing a hard drive but I like using Dropbox because of the features it has. I am able to upload and access my things directly from my phone and laptop and other devices with or without being connected to WiFi or being close to home (using mobile data). I did not want to miss out on that feature and my boyfriend had mentioned to me about My Cloud External hard drive, how its YOUR own personal cloud and how it is able to do all the things Dropbox can do PLUS has 2TB (2,000 GB worth of memory) thought I'd try it out. After setting it up with to my router and downloading the apps to my devices, I soon realized how easy that was. All I simply needed to do was create a My Cloud account and just upload all of my things, from my laptop and phone and I was good to go. Granted, it did take a few days for it to finish uploading because of the things I had on both my phone and laptop but I was very pleased how it all worked out AND I was able to connect/Add my Dropbox account to My Cloud. That was an absolute plus for me. As other comments mentioned, saying it was slow when uploading, I would have to disagree with that. Depending how big the file is and how much things you have, it is going to take some time for it to finish uploading. I had a video file that took 3GB of memory and I noticed it did take some time for it to upload on My Cloud but I was patient enough to wait because I knew 3GB is a big file plus while that was uploading, it automatically was uploading other files in the mean time, thought that was pretty neat. Other than that, I am in love with this product. Wish I knew about it sooner.

This was my third WD external hard drive, but my first cloud. After 2.5 yrs of working well, I am now locked out of my device and can not seem to get any assistance from WD. There is no phone number to be found and emails have gone with no reply. My next step is to go to a data recovery specialist and pray that my family pictures can be recovered. If you can't trust a company to lend support and stand behind their product, why trust them with your irreplaceable memories?

Does not like to work with Mac computers at all. Spent too much time on the phone with tech support to find out they don't know how to fix it.

Was not able to get it to work. Read several blogs to learn I was not the only one having issues. Installation was not straight forward and easy. I was very pleased that BestBuy didnt question my choice to return the item.

Purchased this to replace a Seagate Personal Cloud that dropped dead. This item boasted "easy setup" and it was anything BUT. Tried everything I could think of to get this to work and even called tech support. In the end, it simply was not recognized and the bulky bloatware that was installed on the drive certainly didn't help. This drive was returned after 6 hours.

Though I have an option of uploading my documents to many cloud sites like GoogleDrive, I never felt safe. Then I decided to go with personal cloud storage option and I did research on both Segate and Western Digital personal clouds and found WD is much better. Now, I am able to store/access all my documents, iPhone photos from anywhere to my personal cloud drive at home. Able to watch movies in Samsung TV from the cloud. Since this product has extended storage option, I choose 2TB for lesser cost than 4TB or 6TB.

It would not connect to my network. I will stick with Apple.
