Another amazing film from Makoto Shinkai. Visually stunning!

Writer-director Makoto Shinkai has crafted another charming, visually impressive animated story that's both magical and romantic. This movie, like Shinkai's Your Name, is an exploration of friendship, family, and folklore, as well as a slow-burning first love story. There's also an underlying but not heavy-handed environmentalist message about the way weather can affect people and even cause disaster. Hodaka's coming-of-age plot burns brightest, as does the blooming romance between him and Hina. Irresistibly sweet and brave (if occasionally too courageous for his own good), Hodaka is easy to root for, even though Shinkai doesn't delve into the reasons he runs away from home. Also DVD an Blu-ray in one at a great price! How do you go wrong?

Makoto Shinkai has done made another fantastic movie with some of the best animation I have seen, especially with the rain. The side characters are more fleshed out than in Your Name with a fantastic journey between the two young leads. The music is composed by Radwimps again and is equally enjoyable. The steelbook version is a beautiful coating for a great movie. If you enjoy Japanese animation, this is a must watch.

Once I found that “Weathering with You” was made by the “Your Name” creators, I knew I had to get it. This movie actually surpassed my expectations in that I didn’t think another movie could live up to the standards of Your Name. The picture and sound quality were excellent, and the story had me connected to the characters and what would happen to them. It’s close, but this is now my favorite anime movie. This movie has made me look into more anime movie blu-rays so that I can start a collection. Shipping & delivery through Best Buy were quick and easy as usual. I definitely recommend Weathering with You for those that like anime such as Clannad or Your Name.

Me and my family have been gathering up highly acclaimed Japanese movies lately and this one ranks way up on my favorites list. I mean my favorite movies of all time, not just these recent Japanese films. The animation is beautiful... The sound is awesome... The story is great... I don't have one thing negative to say about it. I'm really glad we started exploring a little further outside our normal stuff as we've discovered some really great films. If you've seen Your Name and liked it, then give this one a try, too.

I already own the 4K Collector's edition imported from Japan but wanted this copy for the excellent steelbook, digital copy, and special features in English. While the character development and thematic execution in this film might not quite hit the peaks of Your Name. it's still a worthy entry and in Shinkai's now lengthy filmmaking canon. Animation quality is especially breathtaking in this film, and it's worthy of an addition to your collection.

This Japanese anime from writer/director of Your Name will have you in tears. beautifully animated and performed by two newcomers, with catchy soft rock music from Makoto Shinkai collaborator Radwimps (feat Toko Miura on vocals,) Weathering with you delivers.

One of the most captivating anime films I have watched. There are many that are just as great but this one sure took it's rightful spot among them. It's a must have for any anime fan. When I saw it had a steel book I knew I had to snatch it up. It's so pretty! lol.. You will not regret this steelbook edition. If you see it, and loved this film, get it! :D

This is a movie that will stick with you for a very long time. Highly recommended for all kinds of movie lovers, whether they enjoy anime/animation or not. Beautifully animated, great acting, fantastic soundtrack, and a lovely story. It has it all, and is perfectly presented on Blu-Ray.

Probably one of the best "new" anime films for me. Been an anime addict since the late 80's/early 90's and haven't really been impressed with a lot of the more recent content. This brought me back to that emotional connection that the world of anime first impressed upon me!

Excellent artwork animation and an interesting, if a bit bizarre, storyline help to create the masterpiece that is “Weathering With You”. I especially like that I can watch it with original Japanese dialogue and English subtitles, as doing so adds a sense of unique authenticity to the experience.

Amazing movie, the visuals are stunning, the 4k version is excellent, as well as the interesting extras, including a documentary of the making. The collector's edition has a nice textured finish, with amazing artwork lining the back of the disks. It also includes a small poster and some stickers, but it's not that big of a deal.

Within the last few years Anime has exploded more into mainstream casual culture. While "Your Name" still reigns supreme, Weathering with You continues to show anime is here to stay, and continue the expansion into Western culture.
