Customer Ratings & Reviews

Very comfortable to wear, you can wear both on the same ear when its time to switch them out, there is no left or right side. Connect very easily via Bluetooth and can make adjustments using the app. These are my first pair and I'm impressed with these earbuds.

If you're one of those people who really don't like how earbuds feel when they're pressed into your ear, these might be a great "fit" for you (pun intended). Setup is as simple as any bluetooth headphones. Opening the case starts a pairing mode so you can connect to your phone and then you're all done. I feel like I should include putting these "on" in the setup process, though. It's a weird process of moving them around until they "feel" right and then trying to repeat that position every time you put them back on. It takes some getting used to but it's not too difficult. These don't have the greatest sound in the world but I wouldn't expect them to. They don't really get inserted into your ear so you're relying on them just "throwing" the audio into your ears. For that, they actually sound a LOT better than I was expecting. The biggest gripe would probably just be that they're a little quieter than other earbuds that actually seal into your ear. The tone might also be a little washed out or muddled. I was surprised about the amount of bass I was hearing. Another surprise was how little I could hear these when my wife was wearing them. When I cranked up the volume, I could hear them a little bit but with the volume anywhere normal, you really can't hear them from outside. Comfort is great. Once you lock down where the back piece should sit, it's pretty easy to get them back to the same spot. It takes longer than standard earbuds to put them on but it's not that bad. Once they're in place, they stay put and you really don't feel them all that much. I didn't feel any discomfort in my earlobe after prolonged use. Gesture controls are weird on this. There are two modes (according to the instructions) for activating gestures. You should be able to touch the middle stalk that connects both sides. Or you can squeeze the top and bottom of the part that goes behind your ear. I couldn't for the life of be get the tap gesture to do anything. The squeeze seemed to work ok though. I'm pretty bad at gestures with earbuds, though, so gesture controls aren't really a big deal to me. But they might be for you! Overall, these are pretty decent headphones. I wouldn't even mind listening to some music with these. Audiobooks and podcasts are probably the best spot for these. If you're looking for something different and don't enjoy earbuds being inserted into your ear, these might be a good alternative instead of resorting to over-ear headphones.

With summer coming into full swing, I’ve been spending more time outdoors on walks or in the yard enjoying the warm weather. I usually have a pair of earbuds in listening to music or on a call, which can be an issue when I need to hear what’s going on around me. I’ve been using my current Shokz open earbuds but wanted to try another pair that was a bit smaller in size, so I can easily fit them into my pocket. That’s when I saw Shokz was releasing the OpenDots Air, which were much smaller and designed to Clip-On to the outside of the ear. I decided to pickup a pair to give them a try. Pros: - Open Ear design for full awareness of your surroundings. - Lightweight for all day comfort. - Clear and full sound. - Compact earbuds and case. Cons: - Getting the fit right can take a few tries. - Sound can be drowned out from background nose, normal downside to open ear headphones. Setup: In the box, Shokz keeps it simple by just including the OpenDots Air and charging case. There’s no USB-C cable included, as it is assumed you already have one along with a charger. Setup was just as easy and straight forward, just download the Shokz app and follow the guided setup to add the OpenDots Air to your device. Learning to clip the earbuds to your ears correctly does take a little practice, Shokz includes a picture on the wrap for the case as an example. I had to stand in front of the mirror for the first few times I clipped the OpenDots Air onto my ears. After that, I was able to put them on easily without looking. Software: I’ll have to say it again about the Shokz app, I like how simple and easy it is to use. Less is always more. The Shokz app mainly is for pairing the earbuds. It also provides a tutorial on how to use the gestures, which is helpful as the OpenDots Air use a “Pinch” gesture on the battery part of the earbud in addition to a tap on the band for controls. Otherwise, the app allows you to select the EQ Mode, enable Multipoint Pairing, and finding your earbuds. Within the settings, the only additional feature that isn’t on by default is Microphone Noise Cancellation During Calls which helps with call quality. Fit & Feel: Included with the headset is a guide on how to best attach and wear the OpenDots Air. As mentioned, I needed to stand in front of a mirror for the first few times to get the fit down. But after I got the feel for the right positioning, I was able to clip them on to my ears anywhere. The fit is very comfortable, as they Clip-On to the side of the ear and are very lightweight, which makes them feel like nothing at all. Even while moving around or shaking your head, I found that the OpenDots Air didn’t dislodge. I was only able to shake one off after a very aggressive shaking of my head, a motion that I would never normally make. Even after an all-day out and about trip, I didn’t feel any discomfort or fatigue from wearing the OpenDots Air. These were by far the most comfortable earbuds I’ve worn in a while. One of the most important parts was the size of the earbuds and case, which easily fit in the palm of your hand or pocket. The case size is about 2.5in by 1.85in by 1.1in, with the earbuds being a little wider than an inch from the speaker side to battery, otherwise it is under a 0.8in. Much smaller in size than my prior pair. Sounds: The sound quality is very impressive for being an open ear earbud, I would have been more shocked if not for having tried another version of the Shokz earbuds. The quality and depth of sound is very good, considering there is a large gab between the speaker and earhole. Though like my prior assessment on open ear earbuds still applies, in excessively loud or echoey spaces, it can be hard to hear the audio even at maximum volume due to the background noise. Though, I was expecting this based on prior experience. One thing I did like better about the OpenDots Air was the fullness of the audio, as my older Shokz had to have Dolby Audio enabled to get the same richness of sound that the OpenDots Air provided by default. Call Quality: My biggest complaint with the OpenDots Air comes with the microphone quality. The main feedback I received from callers and was able to confirm with another phone, was that the microphone sounded like the speaker was in a can or tunnel. The audio was very tinny and echoey when there was any kind of background noise or in closed spaces. The audio drastically improved while outside in a quiet area, but that was rarer in an urban setting. The audio was still clear enough to understand the speaker, just distorted and unnatural. I assume this was mainly due to the placement of the earbuds, further away from the mouth and not in direct contact with any conductive bones that could improve transmission of the voice to the microphone. Battery Life: I was very impressed with the battery life, the OpenDots Air were able to last a full day of use on a single charge. I was able to wear them for a straight 8 hours while out, taking calls and listening to audio without needing a charge. Even if I did need to charge, the case had 36 hours of charging, which can also provide a fast charge of 10mins to provide 2 hours of usage. Conclusion: If you want an open earbud that is comfortable and lightweight, while lasting all day, the Shokz OpenDots Air are solid new consideration to have. Shokz has been a go to name for OpenEar earbuds, but the recent addition really steps up sound quality and comfort, while providing a longer lasting battery in the earbud and paired case. I’ll be clipping these on for a while enjoying the summer weather.

Headphones and earbuds are great, but they have one big problem… they cover or plug up your ears, making it hard or impossible to hear what’s going on around you, which in some environments can even be dangerous. Clip-on earbuds are a way to solve this issue, as they literally clip on your earlobes instead of covering or going inside your ear canals. Shokz is known for having bone-conducting headsets that send sound through your head which are handy, but now they have OpenDots, open-ear clip-on earbuds to offer you an alternative. The OpenDots are kind of a U-shape, and flexible. The center joint portion wraps around your earlobes, and then on one side you have the speaker and mic area, and on the other portion are your controls and buttons to control phone calls, listening to music, or adjusting volume. By tapping the center joint portion, you can specifically play and pause music and answer and end calls, while the buttons let you skip tracks or reject a call. Dual microphones and AI powered noise reduction help to keep the calls clear. IP55 water resistance is good enough for sweat and everyday splashes, but I wouldn’t suggest letting them fall directly into water. The OpenDots fit neatly into their charging case which is charged by a USB-C cable (the case does not offer wireless charging – only via the USB cable). When fully topped off, depending on volume and call use, the Dots can operate up to 9 hours, but with the case topped off as well, you can get up to 36 hours before needing to charge everything again. This is under optimal use conditions, so if you make or take a lot of calls and use higher volumes, those times won’t be quite as long, but so far I’ve found them to hold their power a respectable amount of time. If you need to top things off, 10 minutes in the case will get you around 2 hours of listening time, too. Flipping the case open gets you in pairing mode, and I tried this on an iPhone and Android with no issues connecting them. So far, I haven’t lost connection on either device using them. The Shokz App gives you a bit more control over sound variations like a regular everyday mode, a vocal mode so you can hear voices more clearly, boosted bass mode, and a privacy mode for when you’re in more quiet areas. Everyone’s ears are differently shaped, so you need to try these in terms of whether or not they will be very secure and not slip around on your ears. My ears are slightly different in shape. On my right ear, the OpenDots stays securely in place, while on the left ear, it does at times move slightly around, but, so far they haven’t fallen off, even when moving my head back and forth a bit. I’m not a jogger, nor do I jump on trampolines, so this can vary per person. Overall though, I’m satisfied with their ability to stay on my ears. Sound quality is good. Everything sounds clear, even phone calls. Those I’m talking to can tell I’m using ear buds of some type and like most, I have to talk slightly louder to make it sound like a normal call, but nothing obnoxious. There are no noise cancellation features per se, because for that you really need over the ear headphones or earbuds that plug directly into your ear; regardless, the sound is strong. I haven’t had any sound interference so far. The silicone build is comfortable enough and much more than traditional in-ear buds, allowing my ears to breath and be cooler as well. The “Daybreak Purple” color is a light purple color and kind of neat, too. I have no real complaints at all about the OpenDots. So far, so good. The price is reasonable for what you get, and they perform well for this type of device. I would recommend these.

I was intrigued by the Shokz OpenDots Air wireless earbuds. I've been using them for about a week and a half now and overall I really like them. My over the ear Shokz are probably my number 1 favorite to use but they become uncomfortable to wear with my glasses and the body of the earbud over the top of my ear. The OpenDots Air "clip" over the bottom of the inside of your ear, so there is no pressure where your glasses are. They are lightweight at 0.011 lbs so I don't really notice them on my ears. They are not noise canceling but they fit more fully into my ear than the over the ear model so they blocked out more outside noise while still allowing you to hear the world around you. The 2 earbuds are interchangeable, there is no left or right. The functions are controlled by a pinch to the band between the two sections of either earbud. The sound quality was good. I could not get them connected to the app. There were a lot of choices that were similar to these earbuds but these particular ones were not listed. I don't know if that was because I was an early user of them. I'll have to check again later. They are water resistant and bluetooth with a range up to 33 feet. Each earbud has a microphone. There is a maximum talk time of 25 hours. The battery life is 9 hours with 36 hours of recharge time from the case. I had 2 issues. The first was that there is no wireless charging. This surprised me because my other Shokz products are all wireless charging. Second is that I was listening to a book and when the battery on one of the buds got low, it gave me a warning beep. Unfortunately, the beep was so uncomfortable loud that I cringed from the shock of it. I hadn't ever heard a warning tone like that. Overall, I like these earbuds and I have been wearing them throughout mynday to day activities.

Shockz OpenDots Air earbuds are something unusual which literally made me question what was happening when I opened the box. Inside the standard wireless charging case you find an earbud attached to a small, curved, rubber band with a small rectangular device in a half circle shape. How do you put them in your ears? Once I had the app downloaded the earbuds connected to my bluetooth automatically then I had a walkthrough on how to wear and not wear these. They basically wrap around the ear just above your earlobe, sitting in the outer ear, which I immediately thought would be annoying to keep in place and not nearly loud enough to be practical in anything but a silent office or at home. While I don’t think these will hold onto your ear while you exercise or work in a warehouse, anything with up and down or vigorous motion, the sound wasn’t an issue. Inside the app for the OpenDots you can set the profile of the ear buds (loud, soft, vocal, etc.) and the volume of the sound which at its loudest setting was more than I needed. They’re actually comfortable once you get used to the idea of the ear squeeze (hug? Its noticeable but not painful or pinching) and the sound is really good which would typically be enough for a solid recommendation…but I can’t. I got these on a Thursday and tried them out for a short time that evening before plugging them into charge overnight and taking them to work the following day…they were not dropped or abused or pulled (the instructions are clear that you can’t pull them too wide to get onto your ear). However on my second use after a half hour I found a loud annoying and impossible crackle in the one earbud which made them unusable. I tried again at home and they work intermittently without the crackling distortion then it picks up for seconds to constant. From what I’ve experienced they have the potential to be amazing headphones because of their light weight, their advertised long battery (I can already see their better than my other earbuds, two hours of use on the old ones was just under half the battery where as the OpenDots Air used approximately 10% of their battery. Not sure if these have a manufacturing defect or if I damaged them while learning how to put them on (instructions say don’t pull them open but they don’t just slide onto your ear so they HAVE to be pulled open a little!) but it might be worth checking if there are many other reviews that mention crackling distortion before buying into a potentially new interesting style of earbuds.

The OpenDots Air earbuds from Shokz are honestly a refreshing wireless earbud option in a day and age where bulky headphones and/or expensive mainstream earbuds seem to be the predominant listening modality. Whether it is podcasts, audiobooks, or music, my listening experience has been great with these earbuds. Both my wife and I shared them, and even with our different ear shapes, as pictured, and the presence of multiple ear piercings in my wife’s case, these earbuds ended up being comfortable and nice to wear for both of us. The general package and quality you get here in the hundred-dollar range are excellent. The wireless charging case is actually about the same size, if not a little smaller, as an AirPod Pro charging case, and even lighter, which helps the sensation of carrying the case around disappear that much more into the background of your consciousness. The charging case is USB-C rechargeable, and there is no “right” or “left” earbud; they are usable on either side! Putting them on the first few times took some practice, but it became intuitive after using them for a while. The initial difficulty I had was getting used to the earbuds' touch controls. The “tap” function on the earbud's stem for pausing and taking calls is a little finicky, and I had to make repeated attempts to get it right. The Shokz app does provide a gesture tutorial to help you get used to it, and after a bit of practice, I did. Speaking of the app, it is quite smooth and handy to use, and even prompted me to update my firmware with some very specific and easy-to-follow instructions, which was handy! The app also allows customization of the touch controls, so it is great that they give users that ability! The listening experience on these earbuds is absolutely fantastic. I feel like these earbuds let me stay well engaged with my environment while still delivering high-quality audio, without having to have an earbud buried uncomfortably deep in my ear canal or bulky, hot headphone cups clamped over my ears. These are very low profile, and I would honestly say they should be right at home for frequent gym goers and people who work out in general, as they really do stay in place! I am one of those unfortunate people who, no matter which AirPods earbud size I use, will still end up having them fall out of my ears during intense workouts. These OpenDots Air earbuds are rock-solid during my workouts and, as someone who runs hot, seem to let more cool air flow in and around my ears than when I have an earbud jammed deep in there. The only natural downside of this is that these earbuds do not have (nor do they claim to have) active noise cancellation or high-quality noise isolation. So, if your listening environment is going to be full of loud ambient noise like a construction site or an airplane flight, these may not be for you. Overall, I would give these earbuds a solid 5 out of 5 stars for what they are! I think the price-to-quality is spot on with these, and there are plenty of people who will benefit from using them over competitors’ options in the same price range. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy these!

I have previously stated when reviewing headphones and IEMs (In Ear Monitors) I am a longtime member of HeadFi and while that doesn't "qualify" me as an "expert" it does show that I am very much a music, headphones and related equipment enthusiast. I am also a retired Electronics Technician and very much a film buff and home theater enthusiast. The Shokz OpenDots Air Open-Ear Clip-On True Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds (WHEW!) hereafter referred to as Shokz Dots, are without out hesitation or doubt, the MOST comfortable IEMs I have ever used. Why you ask? Because they are not actually stuck in your ears! They clip onto your outer ear with the battery pod on the outside of your ear and the speakers/electronic magic resting comfortably in your ear but NOT in the ear canal. This is fantastic for all day comfort and situational awareness!! After reading the instructions and downloading the Shokz application which is easy to use, I charged the Shokz Dots and then I put them on and wore them continuously for 9+ hours. Continuously. Didn't take 'em out and didn't need to. They are very non-intrusive and I could wear them while walking and driving (I didn't have music on while driving!). I listen at a very low level because I am a senior citizen that wants to continue being able to hear the world around me with and without a headphone device in my ears or on my head. Situational awareness is important to me when I take a walk be it alone or with my grandchildren. I need to know via hearing as much as I can about what is going on around me. If you don't think that is important think of the times you have seen a sign in a neighborhood that says Deaf Child Area. These excellent Shokz Dots help keep you aware but you also have to choose to listen at level that doesn't negate the purpose of Shokz superb design. Having said that I can also state that these Shokz Dots deliver superb stereo (when present as I sometimes listen to monophonic recordings!) separation. It is so good that there is often a "spatial" quality to the instruments. These reproduce music superbly and I like music as I spend much of my day enjoying the soundtrack of my life. After my 9+ hour first day of listening I had (per the app) 40% of battery charge left. The case also serves as a standalone charger (once it is charged) and it charged the Shokz Dots more than fast enough for me. The Shokz Dots easily earn 5 stars from me because they do what I need and give me what I want. Great sound while being supremely comfortable and helping me to stay alert to my surroundings. So, if you are someone that cannot for whatever reason(s), tolerate IEMs/earbuds that must be inserted into your ear canal then... these Budz are for you! Highly recommend!

The Shokz OpenDots Air open ear clip on true wireless earbuds are a fantastic pair of earbuds for active lifestyles. These earbuds work so well for my ear shape and the rigorous demands of my daily life. The sound quality is quite nice and always sounds clear. I enjoy running extensively and live an active lifestyle. I have been using this pair of earbuds with my 8 mile runs in the 90-degree heat and they fit on my ear so well and stay in place. I can put them onto my ear, and they are secure for my full workout. The earbuds don’t require any readjusting or moving around and can handle all the jostling my body experiences during a long run. The clip feature of this earbud is comfortable without pinching. There is a flexible nickel titanium plate that securely holds the shape of the arc to clip onto the back of the ear and into your ear. The material is a skin friendly silicone that feels comfortable and stable at the same time. I’ll wear this for long running sessions, indoor bike workouts, playing tennis, and playing basketball. The earbuds feel weightless at only 6.3grams per earbud. I love this headphone design as it keeps me alert and aware at all times of my surroundings on my outdoor runs in the city and wilderness. In this day and age, I want to hear all my nearby sounds for my own safety and wellness. I find the inner earbud design of many popular brands to be a poor fit for my ear shape. Those other earbuds fall out if I am chewing food, sneezing, or yawning, and just standing over a toilet. This Shokz OpenDots Air is always secure on my ear when I’m working in the office, working out aggressively, and commuting to work. The 11.8mm dual drivers offer a rich sound and the content plays clearly for music, movies, and streaming. I also enjoy the minimalistic feel and look of this earbud as I can wear it much of the day and few people will notice it. It’s a compact form factor that looks sleek. There are 4 preset EQ modes to choose from for easy listening, and there are 2 customizable EQ modes to dial in your preferences. These earbuds will last up to 36 hours on a full charge and a fully charged case. I have been able to get 9 hours of usage on a full earbud charge. Quick charging will give you 2 hours of listening time with a 10-minute charge. And these earbuds are easily swapped between either ear as there is versatility to use an earbud on either or left side, and then you can place them back into the case without a true left or right side. The touch controls and pinch controls on the earbuds is easy to learn and customizable to your preferences with the Shokz app. So far, all the phone calls I have taken with these OpenDots Air have been clear to hear and my caller can hear my speaking clearly. These earbuds use an AI power noise reduction with dual mics that keeps my voice clear even when I’m running and moving around. They’re IP55 water resistant, offer Bluetoogh 6.1 stability and multipoint pairing for switching between 2 simultaneous devices. As an avid fitness enthusiast, I find these Shokz OpenDots Air to be so convenient and user friendly. They have not let me down with their fit, comfort, and sound quality. I highly recommend this earbud over any traditional in ear earbud because I have never had any luck with traditional earbuds fitting the shape of my ear.

This is the first time that I have tried this style of headphones. I have an issue with ear buds in that most of them fall out of my ears. I either need to find “sport” style or hope that my Airpods stay in place. I liked these headphones because of the design, and the “open ear” aspect. At first, they felt a bit odd over the cartilage, but it didn’t take me along to adjust. I paired the OpenDots Air with my iPhone 15 Pro. It didn’t go into pairing mode when I first removed them from their case. I had to put the Dots back into the case and take them out again. At that point, it paired with the phone easily. I typically like to listen to podcasts during the day, moving about the house or while I’m shopping. It doesn’t immerse you in sound, but that’s the point. The sound is great but it doesn’t drown out the rest of your environment. The Dots stayed in my ears and did not move at all. I tried shaking my head to see if they would slip or fall out, and they did not. After about an hour of wear, though, my left ear started to feel tender where the Dot rested. It was enough to notice the discomfort, but not enough for me to remove them. I also wanted to say that I LOVE the color! I’m so sick of everything being in shades of black and grey. Sometimes, you find white. If you want fun colors, you have to look at in-ear headphones, and even then they aren’t always easy to find in what you want. The lilac is such a lovely, calming color, and the pearlized tone makes them look fancy. I’d like to see more products made like this. There is a Shokz app available on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Once you register for an account, the app will find the Bluetooth connected Dots (you’ll need to make sure your Dots are active and connected to your phone) and sync with it. Then, it will walk you through a tutorial on how to wear the Dots. It will then take you to a tutorial on the “gestures” you will use to access volume, calls, etc. The Dots are not handed, so you can wear either one on whatever ear you choose. There are also other features on the app (please see photos for examples). You can change your sound profile, use it to find the earbuds, and for gesture control. It is a great set of earbuds for most everyday needs.

There’s a lot to like about these little earbuds. First and foremost - they have very good sound. I like the preset EQ options (in the Shokz app) and the ability to create your own personalized EQ setting. My preference is the Bass mode, but standard sounds good as well and the Vocal is great for phone calls or Podcasts as it loudens the voices and centers them in your head while listening. Cool feature of the way they sit in your ears and wrap around your mid ear cuff is there is no “left” or “right” ear bud. They are interchangeable and it automatically knows which one you are wearing in each ear so that the gestures for pause, volume, track change, call answer, etc. all still work correctly no matter which ear you put them in. They are comfortable to wear for long periods. They wrest nicely in your ear and don’t require you to push them into ear for better sound. I found that they stayed put and worked great for workouts, running, walking, yard work etc. or just sitting at your desk. They have multipoint pairing (only via the app, so be sure to load the app) to swap between tablet / phone, etc. without having to repair. The app has a nice quick walkthrough tutorial on how to use the gestures for each feature (volume, tracks, pause, calls, etc.) and they are intuitive to use gestures once you learn them. Battery life is excellent at 8-9 hours and up to 36 hours total by recharging in the case. Couple notes to be aware of: These are not noise cancelling, so I won’t be using these for flights or noisy environments. They have a “find my earbuds” feature in the app, but note that this only works if the ear buds are NOT in the case. If you put them in the case and then misplace the case, the app won’t find them. The other odd thing was when I needed to re-pair them it was difficult to figure out how to pair them with another device. They mentioned a function button on the case, but for the life of me I couldn’t find any buttons. After looking up the full user manual it shows the 3 lines that look like a vent in the middle of the case as a “Button”. But it’s the oddest button that doesn’t press I’ve seen. Just FYI if you’re looking for the “button” it’s “the vent” thing on front. 😊 Very happy with these overall.

I've had the Shokz OpenDots Air for about a week now, and they've become a part of my daily routine: Conference calls at work, check in throughout the day with family while listening to music or podcasts, then working out at home while listening to more music. These are open ear clip on earbuds so nothing goes into the ear canal. Instead they clip onto the edge of your ear and sit there so that you can hear what's going on around you. If you have been curious whether the clip on style is for you, here is my take after real world use. - Unboxing/Design & Build - The packaging is pretty basic. It's a small box, nothing oversized or designed to look fancier than it is. There are the Earbuds, the case, and the documentation. The Misty Purple is kind of like a pearl white with very subtle purple. It's more of an accessory than a tech gadget hanging off your ear. They're built to disappear on your ear. They feel sturdy and durable, and the size makes them easy to toss into the case. They're held into the case by magnets. - Specs & Features - These are very light at approximately 6 grams each. The charging case is about 40 grams so approximately 50 grams total. The Drivers are 11.8mm dual drivers in a spherical module tuned with Shokz Bassphere. There is leakage control to prevent audio from spilling out to people nearby. There is no ANC, but that's the whole idea with the open ear design. It has Bluetooth 6.1 that has a range up to 10 meters. You can Multipoint pair two devices at one. It's IP55 rated, the earbuds are sweat and splash resistant, but not waterproof. There's also a 2 year warranty. - Battery & Charging - There's up to 9 hours of playback on a charge, but the case will give you about 4 charges. There's 25 hours of talk time, and they can sit on standby up to 180 days. If you need a quick charge, 10 minutes gives you about 2 hours of listening. It takes approximately 1 hour to charge the earbuds, and 2 hours to fully charge the case. The case must be charged by a USB-C cable. There's also Dual AI noise canceling microphones for calls and fixed mic placement. - Software - The software is fairly basic. You can setup a custom equalizer, or select four different modes: Standard, Vocal, bass, and Private. You can also use a Find my Earbuds feature to ping each bud separately. There's also a section to view your battery charge on each earbud and the case. Controls are all gesture based and you set them up in the app. Out of the box, a pinch on the right bud turns the volume - Performance - Sound is good. There isn't a ton of bass, but that's the nature of an open-ear design that isn't sealing off your ear. For what they are, the bass is adequate and doesn't leave the music feeling empty. They deliver clarity and volume. Audio comes through clean and gets loud, and because there's nothing plugging into your ears, you can hear everything going on around you. During conference calls and phone calls, voices were clear and the mic did a good job of isolating my voice in the middle of typical noise among several cubicles. - Pros/Cons - *Pros* * Secure fit and comfortable * Clear, loud sound * Design keeps you aware of your environment * Gestures are intuitive and work well *Suggestions/Needs Improvement* * Bass is a little light as open air earbuds tend to be * App is basic, could use a few more options/features * Takes a few days to adjust to the feel of the clip-on The OpenDots Air won me over after a short adjustment period. If you go in expecting the deep, sealed in bass of regular earbuds, this was never the point of these. They're built for staying comfortable, and getting clear, loud sound without anything in your ears. Once I adjusted to the clip-on style, they became an easy option for everyday wear. I would recommend them to anyone that needs to be aware of their environment, or just more in-tune with their surroundings. They're great for work professionals, working out, or for any environment you need to be aware of. I recommend them.

the Shokz OpenDots Air are a fresh take on buds. Firstly, the finish is great. the pearl purple is a nice mix up from just black or white or silver. that being said, these do come in different colours. On that note, if you like having decorative case protectors, there are options available for these as well. Pairing and setup is very easy and quick. Pop them out of the case and into your ear and they link up almost immediately. Sound quality is really good, especially at the price point, but my favourite part is the fact that they clip on your ear. I don't like to keep buds in my ears for long periods of times, because it starts to feel weird and uncomfortable. These clip around your ear like a cuff piercing and the speaker bit sits near the ear canal instead of going in. They are pretty flexible and soft, so they don't hurt. The other great thing about them is that if you're someone with smaller ears (such as my kids), they find many buds don't fit in their ears, sometimes even with the smallest cones attached becasue the body of the bud is too large to wedge into the ear. but hooking these around, my small daughter can keep these on her without plugging her ears and risk having them fall out. they hold on really well, even with vigorous activity the battery life is great. they last several days for long periods of time. Charging doesn't take very longer, and you're good to go. overall, these are great if you are active and/or don't like the feeling of buds wedged into your ear holes or if you just have small ears and have trouble having buds stay in.

The fit is great. Sound is amazing. I was concerned on how well they stay in place but they are great no issues.

I like it a lot it doesn't fall out my ear the sound is great clear and great for listening to music.

Just enjoy the style, the sound and the comfortability of these shokz earbuds. Always been a beats pro earbud person for years. Then was at Best Buy trying out these new earbuds, but I didn’t want to pay the price that they wanted for them. Then I was on my Best Buy app and saw these as open box excellent for $50 and jumped all over the deal. After having these for a week now they just stay in place, the sound is unbelievable and when you add the bass boost to the sound through the app. It just takes these headphones to another level. If you can catch these on sale, they’re well worth every penny the company wants for them. The app is very easy to use and the connectivity to your phone is flawless.

A super open earbud.great sound quality the design is awesome.shokz is a great brand i wish they make headphones.

Sometimes I forgot they were on my ear! Very light weight and they sound amazing.

I have had these for several months and love the long lasting charge of case and headphones. Allow me to be aware of my surrounding but listen to my own music.

The product clipped right onto my ears, and after multiple hours of listening, were not uncomfortable in any way. Sound is robust and clear. Would definitely recommend these for anyone who, like me, gets tinnitus after listening to traditional in-ear earbuds.
