Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Radeon RX 7900 XT's performance, especially its high frame rates in various games and its ability to handle 4K resolution. Many appreciate the card's compact size, making it suitable for smaller PC cases, and its effective cooling system. However, some users reported issues with coil whine and noted that ray tracing performance could be improved. Concerns were also raised regarding the price and driver stability.

    Just Bad

I've been building gaming computers for over 20 years and I've never had an experience like the 6950 XT and the 7900 XT. The 6950 XT was much worse than the 7900 XT that I exchanged it for. The 7900 XT GPU die never got above 60C but the memory would throttle at 105C and the Hotspot would reach 111C which would cause the core frequencies to drop significantly. This would make the card perform worse than a 3080. There wasn't much coil whine but there was a lot of stuttering and freezing and a lot of black screens that forced me to hard reset my pc several times. The drivers aren't plug and play like NVIDIA's, you'll have to fine tune the settings if you don't want to deal with a headache. Whenever I would disable Zero RPM fan mode to try and get the temps a little lower, my screen would go black. I returned this card and will no longer chose AMD graphics for my computer even if it was free.

Jumped from 3060ti to this, RTX wasn't cutting it in starfield. The DDU app made install a dream, and performance has more than doubled in fps from 37-110 ish. This card looks, feels and operates with style.

Went from playing with the 6950xt and 6700xt to this reference 7900xt card by XFX. Gains from the 6950xt MSI card are there. Not a huge jump. But the lower psu power requiremts is what sold me. GPUs requiring more rhan 750-800w todat is creeping into the unreasonable power territory . Super happy with the 750w requirement, i run a3900x paired with this, and generally never go over 500w on full gaming load.

AMD Drivers are an issue. I was a big fan of my 6800 which occasionally had driver issues. Needed to roll back to older versions several times. My 5700XT Pro had quite a few issues, despite the pro drivers. This card was very underwhelming for the price and drew a lot of power. The performance was not sufficient after two bouts of DDU, and it keeps misbehaving and crashing games with the classic AMD driver failure pop up. Not worth the trouble for me, My nvidia cards don't act like this.

I've been working building computers for over 25 years, I've used various types of GPU, from the reasonable ones to the best, but I have to say something about this XFX rx 7900xt video card, it's an exceptional video card, for the price. and quality, both in performance and for video rendering, and of course for video games, I really like Nvidia's video cards, but I confess that AMD got it right with the Series 7000 Video card, which leaves nothing to be desired in terms of The best in price and quality, of course there are varying opinions, but for me it is the best in this category.

Very quite card. Runs very cool in my open air PC. Under the load of a game it gets around 64c and idle at 32c. Fan profile stock is set very low. 400 RPM stock speed in the software. increased the curve to achieve the right temps. Fans are very very quiet. running 1200 rpm and no vibrations or noise. Some slight issues with drivers out of the box but a quick mobo update did the trick. Very happy with the 7900XT plays everything I throw at it.

So far it’s been a great card. Plays all the games I like to play at 1440p without issue. Not very loud (I know others have had fan noise, seems like I’ve gotten lucky). The extra vram over the nvidia equivalent card is great. No complaints. I definitely recommend this card if you are going sff build.l, as it will fit in most small cases.

I’m super happy with the performance of this thing. How ever, on the second day of having it. It now has a very loud coil whine that is annoying to listen to. Under volting did not help. Sadly gonna have to return it because that sound is very unpleasant. I think I just got unlucky with this one.
