Bought this for work as I needed a gimbal to take more dramatic and fluid video shots for my employer's products. This thing is compact, lightweight, and everything you need to get started. Great for quick productions, last-minute shoots, and has its own storage & travel case. The manual wasn't really helpful in teaching you how to properly first-time calibrate the gimbal so I went to YouTube which was much more informative. As with any new endeavor, practice makes perfect. Being a first time gimbal user, be patient and allow yourself the time to learn how to properly calibrate this gimbal to your camera's weight (it can get frustrating if you're impatient). Also practice using it so you're comfortable with the combined weight as well as panning, tilting, and getting used to the thumb control sensitivity so you don't end up fast-panning/tilting when you meant to shoot it slow (and vice versa). My Nikon D5300 is obsolete by 2020 standards and I noticed its weight requires me to dramatically put more effort into keeping the entire rig stable while shooting. DSLR cameras today are smaller, lighter, more pixels, 4k/8k resolution, etc. so as for shooting efficiency, the lighter the camera = easier gimbal use. For the price ($200 sale), it's definitely a steal at the entry level. This is a good rig to learn how to incorporate gimbal & stabilized shooting into your photography/videography efforts. Buy it!

Finally! I can do handheld shots with less shaky/jittery footage. I have worked two weddings with it so far, and very pleased. Also, the battery life lasts several hours. Very accommodating!

Saw a number of very positive reviews on other sites. I ordered and received the product last week and set it up over the weekend. Was surprisingly easy to do. Took me a little less than ten minutes and it was ready to use. Ended up shooting about an hours worth of videos on Sunday. Kind of made me into an instant semi-pro. I definitely recommend this product. It is not a toy but a real professional quality accessory.

Using this with Canon 5d mark IV and 24 - 105 L f/4. Total weight about 1500 grams. Works beautifully. But, you must get the latest firmware and go into the Zhiyun Gimbal Tools App and set the motor power to "high". This allows the higher weight of the canon DSLR. I used a iMacPro and the Mac version of the Gimbal Tools. Works great. Amazingly smooth and stabilized video for a steal of a price. I'm sure the new DJI and new Zhiyun products have more features, but bang for the buck is great on this one.

The Crane gimbal works great on both of our Canon 5D Mark iii and the Sony RX10iv. Was skeptic as we also own the Ronin gimbal for our full size cameras, the build quality and ease of use makes this one my new favorite. No more fighting through crowds with an over sized gimbal.

Stabilize video captured by your camera with this three-axis Zhiyun-Tech Crane handheld gimbal. It's compatible with action and compact cameras up to 3.9 lbs., and it also accommodates long lenses with the included lens support accessory. This 360-degree rotating Zhiyun-Tech Crane handheld gimbal lets you switch shooting modes easily with its five-way stepless joystick. Is the best one out there for professional videos!

    I tried on my 5D...

So, for all 5D canon users. I have a 5D mark iv and I tried balancing just the body and it barley worked. When the box comes in, it says that it holds up to 3.3lbs compare to the description online. Also, I know you're supposed to do the update in order for it to work for the 5D (for those that don't know much about this product). When I went to the website to get the update for the 5D, it wasn't on there and I looked everywhere! So, I ended up returning it last week. I'm hoping that they get one that holds more weight, or I'll get it somewhere else. For Sony people, I know that you'll love this thing! It's just not for me.

    A Sturdy Functional Gimbal

At first I had a really difficult time balancing the camera on the gimbal. It helped having a pattern on a wall that could be viewed on the camera's screen. It worked well with my Sony A6000 and a SEL1118 lens. Then I put a Canon Vixia HF-G40 on board. That was a little tricky. The camera's eye cup rubber impeded the motion of the gimbal until I bent the eye cup towards the lens. After that it managed the camera just fine. It really smoothes your movements when shooting. The resulting video was nice. You almost need to use a monitor when shooting because when you flip out the camera screen, it changes the balance. I was able to adjust for that however. I think it could be handy to attach to a tripod for DSLR still shots that are totally level no matter where you move the tripod. I like the build quality. It feels very solid. The case is a great accessory and the batteries last a LONG time.

It’s a fantastic gimbal! Holds my Sony a7iii no problem with my Sony 28mm and can even hold the 85mm f1.8! Battery life is good and stabilization is amazing. Wish it came with a tripod and the Sony cable (which for some reason is $25?!!), but for $350 can’t complain. I would highly recommend getting a quick release plate for this, it will speed up balancing times a ton!...unless you’re swapping to a different lens then you have to rebalance it. Balancing takes some effort but not to difficult maybe 5-10min tops.

Fairly easy to use and records great footage. Only and biggest downside is that, instructions are hard to come by in regards to calibrating and booklet never mentions that you had to balance prior to turning it on

Make sure to set up the balance correctly, I reviewed instructions included but wasn't sufficient, your best bet is to watch some balance setup videos to ensure it doesn't fail you later as mine lost Balance in the field and caused scratches on my Lens Filter and Lens Body.

I dont know where to begin with this thing man, im gonna give it to ya straight. This thing is high quality sturdy materials, rechargeable batteries, Nice thumb controls, and even an app to help you with various functions, Whats not to love right? Well first of all, This is EXTREMELY difficult to set up on your first time if you have no prior experience. Not to mention it is also extremely dangerous for your camera equipment when it violently swings around. There was not a big enough gap between all of the axis's to the point that a flat lens could fall and hit the bottom of the crane dead center of the glass. And trust me this happens often with the app, any time you change a setting, it just loses power and comes crashing down. My last concern is that it would be ballanced, nothing would change, and the next time i used it, it would be completely off ballance and unusable. My overall review, Get it if its on a great sale like i got it and your on a budget. It will work very well for normal panning and crane shots but any of the barrel functions ect were just way to dangerous or didnt even work.

I use this with a Nikon D750 and Irix 13mm lens which is a fairly heavy Prosumer rig. This gimbal handles it fine as long as it is balanced properly when you start. I’ve not had an issue with battery life or drifting as some others have described. All in all, I am happy with the purchase. I don’t use any of the Bluetooth/lens control features so I cannot comment on them from experience.

This is my second Zhiyun crane; they're that good. Unlike my first one, this one came with the most up-to-date firmware version right out of the box. After some simple calibrations to the axises, I was fully operational in minutes. If you're looking for a gimbal that can support a Sony A7sII w/ lens equating almost 3.5lbs with ease...this is the gimbal for you. Can't beat the price compared to other gimbals in it's category, and the quality is surprisingly good!

One of the best stabilizers, it is the first that I bought at the store. To tell the truth it cost me more than it should, because less than a week after my purchase BEST BUY reduced the price by 100 dollars. I think it was not fair, tough it is an excellent product.
