I have used handheld stabilizers for my Wedding business and this has been a joke. Works sometimes.

It was terrible i used it 4 times since buying it and the motors messed up on me and i have had it balanced perfectly everytime and i have been wayyyy under the max weight as i am used a sony a6300 with a 20m lens and its impossible to reach Customer service to get it fixed i really just wamt my money back or to have it replaced

I followed the steps in the manual & still wasn't able to set up the device. I have a macbook pro (mid 2012) & when I tried installing the firmware I got an error message. Maybe my laptop was too old.

it didn't work for me i try with my 5d and my 80d canon they don't even fit in it this Zhiyun Gimbal Stabilizer is for cameras no bigger than an iPhone

Battery doesn't last longer than 20 minutes. Horrible.

As for being a gimbal, it does a great job. It is light weight, it has a fantastic battery life, and it was really easy to balance my camera on it. However, I am not very impressed with any of the other smart features. The app on my iPhone X doesn't run very smooth, it didn't have compatibility with my DSLR (even with an update), and pairing to my phone didn't work very well. I took this gimbal back for one with more smart features that work with newer DSLRs. I would only recommend this gimbal to someone that is looking for a gimbal motor setup, and not anything else.

The actual operation once you get the thing setup is great - support is nonexistent and the crane was not working AT ALL until I updated the firmware which was not a smooth experience. I ended up finding this advise on reddit which helped me out after about 3 hours of messing around. "After you install drivers follow these steps: 1.) connect gimbal to computer via USB (gimbal is off) 2.) run ZhiyunGimbalTools app 3.) click "open" top left corner of the app as the computer detects the gimbal 4.) go to Firmware tab and load the latest firmware downloaded from their website 5.) now, pay attention to this step: click update button and it will say "waiting for device..." 6.) only now press the power button on the gimbal and KEEP IT PRESSED until the firmware update is done. At this step the software should start updating. To be honest I tried a few times until it worked, I quit and relaunch the application and doing the steps again and again." The crucial step here is holding down the power button for the entire length of the update. Before I learned about this step the update would start and then fail after a few second and while on the older firmware the motors would not activate AT ALL so this thing was basically a $200 paper weight when it arrived.

This is the first gimbal I have purchased for my Sony a6300. I found that the camera was a little light with the kit lens to be balanced correctly, however i bought a quick release plate and added and it turned out perfect. The gimbal provides really smooth footage even while running.

While I loved this gimbal when I first got it, it has stopped working since. I have done research on forums, worked through possible solutions, and have come to find that without much for customer support between BestBuy and Zhiyun, I would seriously not recommend this to anyone. Les than 8 months of very light use, and the device has malfunctioned (just has blinking light) and cannot be found by any device to fix. This appears to be a problem for several people. Great device when it works. Even bought a second for a school I work with. Hoping that one fairs better.
